She thinks she’s escaped her midlife crisis…

When Daisy Summers turned forty, she thought she'd dodged the midlife crisis bullet. Running a cat café with zero witchy responsibilities? Purr-fect. But fate, with a wicked sense of humor, has other plans. Tossed into a cauldron of mayhem at the town's May Day Festival, Daisy finds herself a reluctant candidate for the coven's council, thanks to a mother who won't take 'no' for an answer.

Just when she thinks it can't get more bizarre, her nemesis ends up dead, and Daisy's the prime suspect. With a dash of magic, help from a handsome stranger, and her feline friends by her side, Daisy dives whisker-first into solving the mystery. But as she untangles this witchy web, she learns that even in a world of spells and sorcery, the most unexpected magic can be found in the most unexpected places.

Join Daisy in Midlife or Death as she navigates a labyrinth of laughter, love, and lethal secrets. Will she clear her name, or will her witchy lineage be the end of her nine lives?

Midlife or Death is the first book in the Sweet Mountain Witches Paranormal Women’s Fiction series. If you like the thrill of solving a murder and enjoy a sweet romance, you’ll love Midlife or Death.

What lovely magical fun!

This was such a great series about a young woman who is also a witch. At first not wanting to use her powers but with help pf her mother and her coven gradually coming in to her heritage. Through circumstances she becomes a resource for the local Police when investigating several crimes and murders. Along the way she adds a suave handsome demon to her circle of friends. Did I mention that she is the owner of a cat rescue parlour which is part of her coffee shop? So tick the boxes... romance, detectives, cats, witches, demons, familiars, and so much more. A very enjoyable series and well worth your time.

Really enjoyed this one

Life does not end after 30 so happy to read about intelligent, talented women over 39. Daisy and her close group of friends and their pets were fun, but also open to exploring the challenges thrown their way. Watching her grow in confidence, both in magic and sleuthing, was a little different in that she did it with kindness. Loved Gideon, even when he acted a fool but couldn't blame him either.

Daisy got herself in some scrapes but with her network of friends and family, she solved the murders and managed to stay alive too. Going to jump to Opal's story now.

Highly readable, very enjoyable

There are books that are good but deep and dark. This set though murder mysteries are very easy on the soul. Following Daisy in her hijinks to solve murders is not depressing. Her boyfriend Gideon as an added sidekick with her Chief of Police friend Corey add to the story. Best of all may be her friends both two legged and four. It's hard to explain why this series doesn't seem dark or disappointingly disappear from thought as soon as it's finished.

Strong Female characters

It may become a HEO story at the end but there's strife, drama, friendship, and sarcasm in every part of the series. Good for almost all ages but I chuckle when she mentioned a particular age group being middle aged. I didn't think it was quite middle aged yet. But that's just me and I'm beyond that point now, anyways.

Joining fun and mystery

This was a surprisingly different way to tell the not uncommon tale of first becoming a witch. The characters were well developed with bits of side steps. I believe this could have been called one book of short stories. S
As books each was a bit short and repeated unnecessary dialogue.

Fabulous series

I fell in love with the characters and absolutely hated when they came to an end. Hopefully Miss Stark will pick up where they finished and do another series with all of them. I feel like I’ve lost a bunch of friends.

Perhaps there should be a little note at the beginning of this series, that tells readers that they might want to read Crystal Cove mysteries first, as that series introduces characters that appear in sweet mountain mysteries.

More sweet Mountain Witches please!

I really really enjoyed these stories! Hope to see more of them. What happens next? What happens now will there be a child? What happens in the young witches lives?

I really need to know!

Beautiful

A great set of books, wonderfully convincing characters with faults as well as positive attributes that make them seem so natural. A fantastic setting with Magic of all types. All balanced perfectly. Just so enjoyable.

Exceedingly readable

Many thanks Cindy, I thoroughly enjoyed the whole series. The series was quite unputdownable, who would have thought that a witch and a demon could be so entertaining

Great series, interesting and twisted stories that take place in a small town. Loved the coffee shop idea, sounded like a place I'd love to work especially the parlour. Fabulous characters with a mixture of quirks and characteristics. Thoroughly enjoyed reading this box set.
