They wouldn't arrest a 98 year old for murder...would they?
Following on from the events of Diamonds and Drowning, Alice is determined more than ever to keep her friends safe, while getting justice for Teresa. As she plans her next steps she is side tracked when the Silvermoon Retirement Village manager is accused of theft, and then Alice finds a dead body in her apartment. All the evidence points to her being the killer, and she realises she is up against the most cunning opponent she's ever faced. As it all rushes towards the end Alice might have to make the ultimate sacrifice for the people she cares about.

Writing is one of those things that I have always done. I vividly remember spending most of an English exam writing a complicated adventure story as the answer to an exam question. I passed the exam, either because of, or despite the answer.
I tend to write the story that comes to mind, regardless of genre.
The Silvermoon Retirement series is one of my favorite series of books. The characters are so interesting and of course Alice is my favorite and a fascinating woman. I hoped and waited for this book and then I bought it, read it in a day and a half and now I'm sad because I finished it.
I love all Rodney Strong’s characters, but 98-year-old Alice, resident of the Silvermoon Retirement Village, is my favorite. Recently, a good friend of hers was murdered on a ferry cruise and Alice has learned that someone is plotting against her by attacking the important people in her life. Determined to find the murderer and foil the planned revenge, Alice has met possibly the greatest challenge in her life. The nefarious, clever and complicated, multifaceted plan is a jigsaw puzzle with lost pieces and an unclear picture, and I was fascinated by every aspect. To fully appreciate this book, I strongly recommend reading the previous book, Diamonds and Drowning, first. The background enhances enjoyment but in no way spoils the story. I wish I could give more than 5 stars because this one deserves double. I hope there are more adventures for Alice because, in my vast reading experience, there are no other characters like her and I doubt there ever will be. Don’t miss a chance to enter Alice’s world and dive into her adventures. You have an awesome opportunity to greatly enhance your reading pleasure.
The Silvermoon series is addictive. It features 98-year-old Alice [Many Last Names], a retired ethical con artist; a cast of likable characters; and the author’s easygoing good humor. Rubies and Revenge can be read and enjoyed as a standalone book if you wish, but it is really better to read the earlier books in order to fully appreciate the characters and Rodney Strong’s approach to storytelling. They are not overlong, and they will provide many evenings of smiles and cozy mystery. Fair warning, though: you can get hooked on these.
