For the last 17 years, Logan has put everyone else’s needs above her own. When her mama was convicted, her dreams of becoming a hairstylist were put on hold so she could make sure her sister graduated from law school. While Rahkel helps out here and there when she can, Logan is the sole benefactor of the bills in the Taylor sister’s household. On top of the multiple past due bills, tuition is due and mama needs money on her books. Now, Uncle Freddy don’t mind comin’ through like Captain Save A Hoe and catchin’ up a few of these bills but, it’s gon’ cost Logan. Mr. Quid Pro Quo don’t do shyt for free. He scratches your back then, he’ll expect you to scrub his whole damn body. Because she knows he always expects somethin' in return, Logan refuses any kind of help from her uncle. Sis is a server at Primetime 82, a maid at Lavender View Hotel, and a bottle girl at The Scarlet Room. If she can’t pay the bills, her sister’s tuition, and put money on mama’s books workin’ three different jobs, she’ll get a fourth one before she ask Freddy for anything.

After finally being let out of a shytty contract, Khamari is a free agent and lookin’ to sign with a new team. The Lavendale Thunder is ready to roll out the red carpet to get Mari to sign with them so, they invite him to All-Star weekend in Lavendale so he can get a taste of what the franchise is like. While kickin’ it with his boys in VIP, a masked bottle girl catches his eye. Mari can’t take his eyes off her but, before he can get her name, she disappears into the crowd. Luck was on his side because, he runs into the mystery bottle girl not once, not twice but, three times. Fate continued to put these two in each other’s space and Mari was comin’ with that pressure because, he refused to let Logan slip through his fingers again.

For me, an AP book is typically hit or miss but Boss Up was definitely a hit. I thoroughly enjoyed watchin’ Logan and Mari fall in love. He wanted to be her peace and give her the soft life she deserved. Mari just had to convince Logan to take it. Now, theses secondary characters had me givin’ them a stern side eye. Uncle Freddy was a predator, Rahkel was ungrateful, and Jacari was willfully ignorant. And, after that shyt she pulled, the verdict is still out on whether or not I like Mari’s mama. Logan may have forgiven her but, I haven’t. Overall, Boss Up was a good read and a great start to the WAGs series. I can’t wait to dive into all the drama Jacari and Jaymerius are bringin’ in Come Up.

Haters will say she’s out of his league when the whole time he’s trying to make her apart of his team!

Logan was an aspiring hairstylist that was forced to put her dreams on hold for the sake of her family. She was burning herself from both ends working two sometimes three jobs to keep up with the bills, put money on her mamas book and pay her little sister’s tuition. With her trying to make sure everyone else was straight she was severely neglecting her mental and physical well being. She had a heart of gold so she had to trust the process and know that her time was coming!

Khamari is finally reestablishing his career as an NBA player. With a 💩ty contract in his rearview and a new team ahead, he is ready for his name to continue ringing bells in stadiums and on television. If it’s not about ball he ain’t trying to hear it. Khamari was ready to enjoy his last hoorah before the season kicked in and live it up during All Star Weekend but had no idea that the woman he literally prayed for would walk into his life.

They say good things come in three’s so Logan and Khamari running into each other on three separate occasions sealed the deal. For him it was pretty much love at first sight and he fell first, hard and fast. He knew that Lo was end game for him and there was no convincing him otherwise. This man was ready to burn the whole city down behind her and when you go against ya mama you know it’s real.

This one started out slow for me and I even considered DNF’ng but I’m glad I stuck with it because I absolutely loved this book when it was all said and done! The chemistry between these characters was everything and Khamari was not playing about Lo! Despite there being an editor listed, it was non existent on page and that coupled with how the book started out kept me from giving this a 5 star rating. Trust the process with this one, you will not be disappointed!

Let me Take Care of You

Logan was the big sister that was left to take care of her little sister after their Grandmother died, due to her parents making terrible decisions that left them alone. She was a beautician at heart, but instead of pursuing her passion she was working 2-3 jobs at a time in order to take care of her sister and to allow her sister Rahki to pursue her dreams. I was exhausted just reading all the things she was juggling. At one of her jobs she runs into the finest man she has ever seen, but she has no time for a man. Fate of course has them continuing to run into each other and it's clear they have chemistry despite her trying to avoid it.

Khamari is a famous basketball player that is looking to settle down roots in a new town. He has been on chill mode, locked in and avoiding traps with women. However, all of that goes out of the window when he sees Logan. She avoids his advances, but that doesn't discourage him at all. He has no problem pursuing her The spend a night together and Mari is ready for forever. We love when the mmc falls first, and that was clear as day. I love how he was all about lightening her load and taking care of her., while allowing her to boss up. His actions were loud and strong and I was here for it.

Of course there has to be some drama. Logan's trifling uncle is doing all he can to make both Logan and Rahki's life a mess. He wants them indebted to him and I was disgusted with him. Mari's momma had a lot of audacity. I know she was trying to look out for her but he was a grown man and she needed to take 10 steps back. However, I did appreciate Mari's family dynamic. Giselle....the bitter wag was a trip and I'm trying to figure out how she got out unscathed.

This story had potential, but the writing lacked consistency. At some points it came across as young adult, but then it would shift to more adult language...it was odd. Additionally, editing was needed. I don't like when I have to guess what the author is saying and there were several grammatical errors. That said I did like the premise of the story.

You never know what to expect its SZN 1

Okay, season one is a wrap, and I am ready for the next. You all, this is how to tell a story. Now, all you need is to add some drama, a bunch of haters, a helicopter mom, a family with strong ties, a shady boss, thirsty sports trolls, a cheating married teammate, and a sports themed romance. But for real, Khamari was traded to the Lavendale Thunder. He was invited to the All Stars game where he met Logan Taylor. Logan worked three jobs to support her family. You'll also meet some leeches and a few friends here and there. The thing you will enjoy most is the family vibe with Khamari's family. His mom was no joke, overbearing most of the time, but a real one. Here's the deal, Khamari's pursuit of Logan was nearly derailed by his lame D teammate -the serial cheater. And the cheater's wife was in need of a little common sense. The toxicity was present, along with the usual haters in this type of love story. Some folks we know will make an appearance, too. My man Megatron, yes, please. That is my man....
The main theme was about this family unit and how they showed love for one another.
The romance was the topping for this story. Khamari's told Logan, ' He would stand with her, beside her, behind, or where ever she needed him.' You all, I'm just saying.... SZN1 was really good.

sport ROMANCE

This is one of those books that makes you love romance, that makes all the books with weak character development and shotty relationship development turn to dust! Cause baby this one has be back to pledging my life to singlehood. Be down down and down bad for me or be gone! Mari was top tier book boyfriend. This has just the right amount of drama and mess but nothing was drawn out or took to long to be addressed. The book was slower paced in that is was well developed but not in the take forever to get to the point way. I think what I enjoyed most was that it omnipresent in the dual POVs that’s is legit my favorite writing style let me know what’s going on in everyone’s heads! I can’t believe this is only my 2nd Pynn book. I really enjoyed the way some of the confrontations were handled and how they changed with Logan’s growth. It was so well done! Normal I get a little miffed with the lack of sports in a sports romance but this has some much in the life of an athlete stuff that it took the place of that in a realistic and enjoyable way! Like the way Mari would break down the game and teacher Logan stuff. And again I have to just say oh my god the romance I can’t remember the last time I got some much on page happy time with a couple!!!! This has quite a few nuggets of wisdom in it that I loved also. Wonderful read and a great ending to setup intrigue for book two!

This was good, I was stressed by every character not named Logan and Mari. I sympathized with Logan because she was working herself to the bone to take care of her family but she deserved a guy like Mari. Speaking of Mari, his mother pmo sooo bad!! Overall, an enjoyable story; their chemistry could be felt a mile away and the cat and mouse game was cute. Mari was a “good man.”

I really enjoyed this basketball love story, the way it organically evolved with both the male and female POV was really interesting. I like the fact that they were both private people. They both peep each other and let it just happen..fast however it was, but it made sense.

The storyline, the character development and even the other characters from different stories that actually were weaved into the story made it that much better. I can’t wait to start the next book…I am sure it will give some more closure to this story along with telling the story of Logan’s bestie Jacari.

I ate this one up! From the start I loved the characters Khamari and Logan! I enjoyed their development over the course of the book! Logan was carrying so much and her sister I wanted to slap some sense into her! Khamari’s Mama had me hot too, but she made up for it! Gizelle, I hope she catches all that is coming her way! I was so glad Khamari stood up to everyone that tried to get in his way! He knew what he wanted and he didn’t stop until he got it and I loved that about him! He wasn’t all talk!

I definitely recommend this one if you love a good Sports Romance!

So good...

Mari and Logan didn't waste no time and I was here for it. Sis was spinning her wheels working to secure everyone but herself. She really deserved a soft girl era and she got it. The list of aint worth nothing continued to grow in this book. Lo's uncle, her ex, her sister...for a minute, Mari's mom...for a minute, Lanez and Gizelle! Whew, the ending was so much. Happy Reading Y'all!💋

Just ok

I'm not a fan of stories told by a narrator, but I decided to give it a chance any way. The beginning of the story was hard to follow with several editing errors. Eventually. It picked up. The last couple of chapters seemed to drag.

Boss up

This was a really good book. There were some editing issues throughout but nothing that diminished my enjoyment of this story.

Khamari and Logan were a perfect match and were so cute together and their chemistry was strong from the start. I loved how he encouraged her to bet on herself and pursue her dreams of doing hair and made it possible for her to do so. He gave her a soft place to land and she gave hm what he needed. Their love was fast but it had balance and was beautiful. I loved how Logan was able encourage him when we was down and just seeing her come into her own and bet on herself was amazing to see. Now Patience overstepped but she redeemed herself. I’m interested to see what comes next from this couple and their friends.

This was a very good read that I would recommend.

Terribly Written

I am disappointed in the quality of this book. The story wasn't well developed at all. People were mentioned and there was no follow-up, like Shayla and Jacari's cousin. The book was poorly written, from incomplete sentences, typos, bad transitions, using the wrong words, etc. This was bad, even for this author. I expect more from an author who says they're college educated. There's no excuse for putting this out as it is with so many books under her belt. The lack of care for the reader's experience is astounding. I won't be reading the sequel because I'm sure it'll be more of the same.

Do not recommend.

I’ve read a handful of Aubree Pynn’s books and have loved each one. This one was no different. And as always, I got excited after reading the trigger warning and names sections.

“Boss Up” was so cute. It had me smiling big nshit. I loved how much Khamari and Logan loved each other, how they expressed it, and how they showed up for one another.

I was a little iffy about Logan in the beginning. She was very much “I’m not like the other girls” and hella judgmental. As the book went on, I got where she was coming from, but I was still put off by her attitude. Later in the book though, Logan became a little more lively and I loved that for her. She just needed to feel safe and loved so she could relax.

I loved me some Khamari. He was very much a lover boy and didn’t play when it came to Logan. I will say this though. Khamari kept feeling younger than he actually was. I think it’s because of the dynamic between him and Patience. Idk. I appreciated the reminders that he’s 30 though.

Now this book is hella fast paced so if that’s not your thing, you might want to skip reading it. Also, we spend a lot of time with Khamari and Logan just being together and learning one another. There’s a bit of drama sprinkled out but some things are solved fairly quickly. One of the drama-filled storylines will carry over into the next book so don’t think Aubree Pynn forgot about it.

Which, speaking of…
(SPOILER ALERT!)

I thought Aleecia was going to be a problem with the way she was introduced but we don’t hear from her again. She might pop up in Jacari’s book though since they’re cousins. Shiiiddd I wouldn’t be surprised if Aleecia is the one talking about Lanez, Jaymerius, and Khamari assaulted her.

AP you did your thing with this one. Logan AKA Lo Lo had the weight of the world placed on her shoulders. She placed her dreams of becoming a hairstylist on hold to put her sister through law school. Her mother was in jail for taking daddy out of this world chileeeeeee. The uncle whewwwwww he made me so mad😩. I felt like he didn’t want to see her win.
I could not imagine working three jobs to take of my sister and I realize it was all a lie.
Bumping into Khamari AKA Mari changed her life well bossed her up lol.
Mari mom was a mess in the beginning but she got it together. I loved how Mari fought for their love. He recognized from just one night together that she was the one. I mean can you imagine a man truly coming into your life to add value and not break you down. Lo got everything she dreamed of plus more just by allowing the right man to love her through it all.
My favorite quote from this book: Navigating through love when you don’t know yourself is tough. Like this was supposed to be just a book but that quote had me looking in the mirror 🥺.
Jacari her best friend was crazy lol but she needed someone to push her. Tatianna was a solid sister and I loved her role in Mari’s life. The family dynamic is the book was beautiful and I loved how they pulled Lo in. I love, love and the way that man loved her and on her was a dream come true. This was my kind of sports romance, good amount of drama, some real good spice and a happy ending.

Lo Lo and Mari 💕

This is my second book by Aubree Pynn, and I loved every page of it! Just when I thought we were done with Gizelle, she shows up again with her wild antics—her shenanigans are absolutely insane. I’m falling deeper in love with Aubree’s writing style; it’s addictive and full of heart.

Khamari and Logan stole my heart in this story. The future they’re building together feels so real and hopeful. And Logan—whew! I love this new secure-girl era for her. Seeing Khamari celebrate her in even the smallest ways, like for her birthday, was so touching, especially since she missed out on so much because of her parents. Those tender moments really stayed with me.

Now, let’s talk about the sister—because she definitely should’ve gotten her behind handed to her! She got off way too easy in my opinion.

What I’d really love is a book club session on this one. There’s so much to unpack: the brother-sister dynamic, the different friend relationships, Khamari falling first (and how that ties back to his past), the layered parental roles, the ex-boyfriend, and even the uncle. There’s plenty of material for deep discussion.

There was a decent story there but the book shouldn't have been this long. Toward the end...it really became redundant and started to drag. The author really should have wrapped it up after the FMC put her mama in her place and there was a truce between the mom and the FMC. All the extra toward the end felt like fluff that wasn't really needed. I ended up skimming through the last 30 minutes of the book because I was becoming burnt out with the story.

I also am kind of tired of the same scenarios with this particular trope. Its all the same...FMC struggling...dealing with feelings of inadequacy...MMC is the knight in shining armor...swooping in to rescue the FMC and show her the world. She becomes the one unique thing he didn't know he needed. Can we please get something different?!

And of course, the FMC gets pregnant at the end and is shocked...."eyeroll".

Overall...it was a decent story and there looks like there will be some continuing drama in the next books, but I don't think this is something I'd go back to and I'm not invested enough to move with any urgency to finish the rest of the series.

Aubree Pynn kicked off this WAGs series right, because Khamari and Logan’s story was the perfect balance of romance and sports. This is a sports romance where Khamari saw what he wanted, didn’t hesitate, and gave Logan a soft life she didn’t even know how to ask for.

Logan is an aspiring hairstylist who’s put her entire life on pause to take care of her baby sister, stretching herself thin working three jobs just to keep everything afloat. And then she meets Khamari Coleman during All-Star Weekend, what started as a fun weekend quickly turns into him being completely drawn to her, locked in, and making it very clear he wanted to be a steady presence in her life. Khamari poured into her without hesitation, showing up in ways she wasn’t used to but definitely deserved.

The side characters? Whew. They had so much going on, and it got messy in all the right, drama-filled ways.

And that ending? It sent me straight into book two.

**************ARC Review******************
I had the opportunity to read this story as an arc and honestly I was blown away. I normally don't read Sport romance but this was exceptional. We follow Logan who is basically the backbone of her family.
She is raising and putting her younger sister through school by working 3 jobs , her family is deep into the street business and forcing her to run point to survive but that is not her style. Her mother is currently in jail for murder and its once again Logan's responsibility to put money on her book frequently. Life is just not given her a break. But when love unexpectedly knocks on her door, she doesn't know whether she should welcome it with open arms or run for the hills p.s he (KC) is an NBA player as well , this can't be good for her current situation right???
Read this story to find out what happens next, it will blow your mind :)

I am usually not a sports person but for this series I will be. This was a great read but also a stressful read as the other characters outside of the main couple were getting on my last nerve and it was making me want to fight. My heart went out to the situation with Lo because she was always on the back burner, and it was really taking its toll on her. But seeing Mari really wanting to be her peace and want for her to put her needs first was beautiful. He really wanted her to get to live the soft life that she deserved.

Mari mama was anything but her name....iykyk. Jacari was Hella reckless but she was def a god sent to Logan. Logan sis was a little ungrateful and I was happy she was sent somewhere that would keep her out of trouble. Gorilla and lamez are toxic and need to be handled cause they are the problem. Can't wait for Tati and Mak story...I'm invested 😍

starting off with a bangggg💕

Ms. Pynn…Where is the script? When can we expect a premiere because ma’am I’m sure you’re writing a tv series or a multi-part movie. I need all the szn’s immediately. Mari was the man that my girl Logan needed. He went after his and knocked down a few people that were trying to taint his love. I’m glad Logan got out of her own way and gave love a chance. I hate she went through so much to protect family that was playing her. Mari’s helicopter of a mama didn’t make it easy either, but she redeemed herself. Now, Lanez and Gizelle need to see me! I also want more form Mack and Tati. I’m also interested in Cari and Jay too. However, I def want to see more good things happening for Mari and Logan.

This book did not disappoint

I loved everything about this story. Logan is a sweetheart who has been through some struggles but has remained strong and vigilant. Meeting Khamari was the answer to her prayers, he came and bulldozed his way into her life and heart by showing her a love that she never knew and baby when I say he did half step or pay about Logan at all with anyone. Of course with every love story there has to be haters around too and Gizelle is definitely one delusional chick who wants everyone around her to suffer because she is in a marriage with a man who has no respect for her and constantly cheats. This new scandal that she has caused is going to be her karma and I can’t wait until part 2 drops to get the scoop,

Mari and Lo

Now these two had trauma that made them both think they are not worthy of good things happening to them. Now Mari made a mistake in his past and the fallout that came with that mistake had him questioning if he was really ready to settle down. Now Lo felt that since she worked 3 jobs, lived in the projects and was struggling to make ends meet she didn’t fit into Mari’s world. However they both realized that they are each other’s person. Once all the fears were set to rest, their relationship blossomed.

Now that Gizelle and her toxic husband Lanez needed to stop adding innocent people in their circus. Especially with that cliffhanger where the “party” Lanez just had to have cause a big scandal. Can’t wait to see what happens next.

this is Logan and Khamari's story. Logan is an aspiring hairdresser but her dreams have been put on hold to care for everyone else in her life. she's holding down three jobs to pay all the bills, her sisters tuition, keeps money on moms books and pay off debts to her trifling uncle. Khamari is in the NBA. they meet over All Star Weekend. Khamari is smitten with Logan and after meeting by chance 3x, they hook up- first for the night, then for the weekend. Khamari lands a new contract in Logan's city but forces are working to keep them apart. Khamari's mom was a bytch and I do not forgive her. she thought Khamari was too good for Logan and went too damn far. despite all the haters, these two made it work. Good for them.
can't wait to read Jacari and Jaymerius's story.

love logan and khamari. logan sacrificed so much to help raise her sister and it made me mad when lied to logan about law school when really she got involved with her uncle and logan’s ex, i was happy when logan read her for filth in that jail cell. logan deserved every bit of happiness with khamari. khamari was a man that knew what he wanted as soon as he saw logan, then once he talked to her he applied pressure and never let up. i commend khamari for finally standing up to his mother and taking control of his own life because she was dead wrong for trying to run logan out of his life. khamari deserves all the blessing coming his way, i really liked how he stepped up and took full accountability in regards to the accident that left the girl needing physical therapy
