Patrick is sent to the South Pacific by his employer, Royal Counties Bank. At the age of 21, this plunge into another culture is exciting.
Local criminals who work for Al Sharika, a secret and ancient organisation, notice the well-meaning Patrick because of a series of unfortunate events. They try to blackmail him into helping them launder money. His naïve good nature repeatedly lands him and others in danger but he is helped by Penny, a mysterious young woman who ‘works for the Government’.
Can he escape and why is the British Secret Service interested in him?
“Saved by the Bull " by Richard Sexton I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
It was my first attempt at a novel from David Sexton, who tells here the story of Patrick Davies a young English banker who takes his first position in the New Hebrids and gets confronted with misdeeds, love and a whole serie of adventures most of them but not all due to his making….. The book is entertaining, with an atmosphere to it and vivid characters, I have enjoyed reading it, good weekend read.
This was a good book. It was based in a different country with different customs and cultures that was fun to read about. The book was intriguing and easily followed. I recommend this book.
