LaMonica Walker is a journalist and a woman who has always done what was expected of her; never walking on the wild side of life. When it comes to success and her career everything has fallen perfectly in place. However, her love life is at a standstill. Until she gets the chance of a lifetime—interview Detrick Raulins. From the first moment she meets him nothing goes as planned. Amidst a case of mistaken identity, resistance and her body on overdrive from one of the city’s sexiest men, LaMonica is way out of her element. Detrick has never had any qualms about being a no-holds-barred attorney when it comes to battling slumlords. Neither has his playboy reputation bothered him; until LaMonica. Always one to protect his privacy, he can’t fathom why he agreed to give an interview, especially to a woman who’s making him second guess his own rules of commitment. In the end one of them must learn to trust and the other has to take a chance for love.
A CHARMING romance...it started off a little slow...but EVENTUALLY it picked up...and I found myself CAUGHT UP in Detrick and LaMonica's FAIRY-TALE romance...LaMonica innocence is refreshing...and Detrick is quite an AMAZING man...despite the unfortunate and compromising positions LaMonica keeps catching him in...I'm glad she decides to trust in him and allow him the chance to explain...I enjoyed the mistaken identity scenario between Detrick and Moniqua at the club...it was cute and AMUSING...I also felt sorry for Moniqua...something is DEFINITELY going on with her...and I would REALLY love to read her story...Mrs. Lamont delivers another SWEET and SENSUAL read.
This is the first book that I have read by Monique Lamont. I have fell in Love with her style of writing. Monique Lamont writes with a "get them to the alter" story line. In Double Take, LaMonica Walker is a virgin that is saving herself for marriage. She also has a twin sister, Lauren, who is the opposite of LaMonica. LaMonica meets Derick Raulins and after a case of mistaken identity love blossoms between these two. This is the first book in the Double Impact Twin Series and I can not wait for the next book in the series about LaMonica's twin sister Lauren and her best friend Malcolm Cline. Great job Monique Lamont on a great start to the series.
Living in the shadows of your identical twin sister is not an feat. Lauren and LaMonica are doing just that when into their lives enters Detrick. One twin has to learn to trust, the other one has to deal with insecurities. Take the ride in Double Take and watch the growth and maturity of the twins.
This was a great little read. A sweet, clean romance. The main characters tell a predictable, but interesting story. The author provides a well written secondary character build up.
