Now that the stage has been set, we get to witness the drama unfold. This second book in the series picks up the pace and the spice. We witness some relationships deteriorate and others flourish. The politics get a little messier (the jabs at U.S. politics gave me a couple of chuckles, too). The pieces on this chessboard (dubbed The Continent) move methodically towards another cliffhanger that has me itching for the next book.

The one mini-downside to this book is that I still found myself trying to remember all of the minor characters and their backstories, but TBH I felt the same way about Game of Thrones (the TV series... don't worry; the books are on my TBR). By the end of GoT, I was appreciative of the large array of characters and perspectives. I am hoping that it will be the same here with Council of Myths.

Also, that dedication. That. Dedication. LOL
