An engaging book about what worship is and how to get kids involved with it. The first nine chapters speak of the incredible responsibility we all have in teaching this next generation, paying particular attention to the troubling statistics that many kids do not really understand or appreciate the full value of worship and why this might be. It also looks at the effects not being properly trained has cost our current generation and how this trickles down into the attitudes we bring to children's ministry. The last chapter gives helpful "how-tos" when we think about how to be more effective in ministerin, reaching and engaging kids at all age and grade levels. Excellent material and difficult to put down.

This is one of the most simple yet powerful books I've ever read. While I often get caught up in new theories, practices, movements on how to live a more faithful Christian life...all of these become irrelevant and insignificant when compared to Worship! That one, true, perfect act (when done correctly- and that is what the author spent 2/3 of the book teaching and defining) truly is the glue that binds us and our children to God. Worship clarifys everything else in our life. The last 1/3 of the book are 52 ideas to share worship moments with kids! Very hands on, practical, and fun. I can't wait to start!

The author posits that the church as a whole has lost the true definition of worship and that children grow up and leave the faith because they never really learned how to worship God. Worship, in her definition, is telling God His attributes, which, in turn, teaches us and reinforces our belief about God. Her case is compelling and a section at the end gives actual techniques used in her ministry to lead children in worship. Recommended.

I tried not to be too critical, but this book was such a disappointment. The title promises so much, but the actual content delivers so little.
