Facilitators

Eva, a woman thoroughly in control of her life (though not of her weakness for designer shoes), prefers her romantic interludes to be devoid of romance. Theo, a man whose dating efforts have been sabotaged by his dilapidated Corolla, hasn't had any interlude in almost a year. When both contact Facilitators, a company specializing in arrangements of the interluding kind, Theo and Eva scratch their respective itches -- and then find themselves wondering what, if anything, happens next.A sweet and spicy (mostly spicy) semi-traditional take on romantic comedies, Facilitators faces head-on the most urgent question of contemporary How many one-night-stands are required to make a relationship?(Also featuring appearances by a chocolate torte, Derek Jeter's Gold Gloves, and a very sturdy dining room table.)Approximately 25,000 words. Adults only.

Tiptop execution for a 25K novella. Characters are well-developed, the conflict is believable, we felt just as annoyed and betrayed as Eva while also appreciating Theo’s feelings. Honestly the only downside? For a sex book it's maybe not as sexy as it could have been.

46-Word Summaries:

Meg: Theo & Eva like sex. Theo & Eva like sex with each other. Theo & Eva ALSO like spending time together. So what’s the problem? Theo doesn’t have the money he thinks women expect, while Eva doesn’t have the space for a relationship. Can these dumdums make it work?

Laine: It’s super convenient when the “sex god” you meet at a sex event is also perfect for you in every other way, including the mutually self-sabotaging emotional distance. When they realize they never discussed exclusivity, hurt feelings and misunderstanding ensue, resolved by a grand gesture (sex).

Theo hasn’t been laid for ten months so his friend buys him entrance to a high class meet and greet run by the Facilitators. There, he meets Eva. They tumble into bed and have amazing sex.
Eva usually throws men out before dawn but Theo stays. Mostly because he’s worn Eva out.
Days later, she breaks her rules and meets him to return his work security ID.
Theo managed not to walk into the revolving doors, trip in the crosswalk, or crash into any pedestrians, which was pretty lucky considering all of his focus was on sneaking glances at the person beside him. Professional Eva had a very different feel from Cocktail Dress Eva, or Naked Eva, or Robed-and-Caffeine-Deprived Eva; Naked Eva was definitely his favorite, but Professional Eva had a charm of her own, and he wanted a chance to evaluate it for a while. After which he’d of course have to evaluate the others again, for comparison’s sake. (Kindle Locations 518-523).

After a quickie, Theo convinces her to go with booty calls.
Eva thinks boyfriends are hard work, and she’s not keen on getting one.
Theo’s wound is that he’s financially struggling. Historically women have dumped him as soon as they found this out. He’s learned to keep it secret, but his car is a beat up Corolla on its last legs, his apartment is in a dodgy area of town, and he can’t afford fancy dinners and expensive gifts.
Eva is carelessly wealthy.
It’s the classic scenario: sex leads to feelings and complications.
***
It’s funny, the sex is great, and I liked both main characters even if I wanted to shake Eva sometimes.
But the real question is: where’s the rest of the series?
There’s a real chance to extend this and write stories for the other attendees. The title implies this, too. Theo’s friend Henry, or Selena who runs the questionnaires, or what happened to salt and pepper guy? Did he get a HEA, too?

I stumbled onto this lovely little novella on twitter not long after it was released. As I scanned the summary and saw the price, I thought it was worth taking a chance. Thank goodness I did, because Facilitators is all kinds of sexy. It tells the story of two people - Eva and Theo - who meet at a “Facilitators Mixer,” essentially a way for professionals to meet and do whatever it is they want... namely hook-up in a casual, safe environment.

Let’s start with Theo. He’s a stockbroker living under a pile of student loan debt and who hasn’t been laid in nine months. He’s stressed, a bit down, and frustrated beyond belief with his love - or lack thereof - life. His friend Henry - quirky, funny, and relatively well off - enters the mix, and after giving Theo a hard time about how uptight he is, hands hima business card for Facilitators.

Eva is an upper class girl who works hard, loves an awesome pair of shoes, and no strings attached sex, or as she puts it, “a ships passing in the night” kinda girl. She has reasons for this, but it takes a nudge - shove - from her cousin, Julie, and some awesome sexy times with Theo for her to come around.

Facilitators is a fun glimpse into the age old question - can people have casual, consequence-free sex? Can two consenting adults keep emotions and attachment and all the messy feelings that come with relationships out of the mix and just enjoy the way two bodies - and trust me when I say these two seriously know how to do it - come together? I’m certainly not going to tell you the answer, but let me just say, the exploration and the unfolding of the story is a pure delight, with ups and downs and pushing friends and family.

These two can make things happen in the back of a cab... in the bedroom... on the table (regardless of a gorgeous crystal vase)... in the kitchen... in the shower... pretty much anywhere.

And that’s tame, folks. Theo and Eva are a hot mess together... and even worse apart.Facilitators is a short, quick read that will leave you fully satisfied and very happy you spent the money on this lovely little novella.

I truly enjoyed Facilitators. It was quickly paced and well written. I was intrigued from the beginning and there were no lulls. I appreciated the intelligence with which the authors gave us information. It felt more than just porn-without-plot as some eroticas seem to lean and it definitely had more quality of writing than some of the "erotic literature" being touted on the big markets these days.
Eva is smart and aggressive, she's not a MarySue and I appreciate that the authors gave her a backbone and a mouth. I love snarky heroines. Theo is just adorable. Fuckhot and has no idea. He's caught up in his head feeling unsure of himself, but when he collides with Eva, sparks fly and everything burns, especially Eva's best-laid plans. I love when a good plan gets torn to pieces with sexy consequences ;) I really loved the scenes in bed, but funnily enough, I also enjoyed and looked forward to, the scenes outside the bedroom. Not like that! But oh, the table scene? YUM! Seriously though, it's a naughty romp for sure, but it has heart and I love erotic romances for just that reason. Audrey and Mera did a fine job giving this story both the love and the lust to which I adore.
I highly recommend Facilitators for anyone looking for a quick read that will leave you happy and gagging for another round. I look forward to a lot more from these two talented writers!

This is a short, quick read full of lots of steamy goodness. Theo is a stockbroker. He's smart, hot, and has gone without for ten months. He's also under a pile of debt so huge it's almost crushing him. Enter the Facilitators and Eva. Eva, like Theo, is successful. She works hard but wants no-strings attached sex. What starts out as one night of very intense sexy times turns into a a casual "f-buddy" relationship. But as we all know... sex is rarely just sex... and this is their story.

I found both Theo and Eva had enough depth for such a short story that it made the whole thing believable. Their relationship wasn't complicated by anything other than their own notions of what the bounds of being a boy/girlfriend looks like.

Check this out! It's fun read!

Interesting and hot little read; a good, short, fun romp in the hay. A beautiful little story, with characters that were well rounded and three-dimensional. I loved them both.

One sentence got stuck in my head, as the imagery floored me:

"Her jump of surprise nearly knocked her right out of her stilettos."
Lovely image, that. We've all been there. LOL

And this was brilliant too:
"This was not a woman who should only be having sex once a month."
Hallelujah, sisters.

Nice going. Well done.

I was NOT asked to read this book by anyone, I paid for it with my own money, as I do for all the books I read, all the music I listen to and the movies I watch.

I loved this for so many reasons it's impossible to contain them all so I'll just stick to the main things I liked the most.

1) It was short, sweet, and to the point. I'm not a big fan of long drawn out things, and this was just spot on length. I didn't feel like a single thing was missing.

2) I don't believe I saw a single cock or pussy. And THAT makes a world of difference.

I've been a fan of the works of these two authors for well over a year now, and I have to say this was an incredible blend of both their talents.

A quick, smutty read, with a strong female lead. Complete with an actual plot that was compelling, and high quality writing, this is a romance story well worth a read.

Knowing the author potential here, I can't wait to see what comes next from them.
