Lee Harris has opened his heart and soul in this marvelous account t of his life path. The stories of the unselfish, hard working tenacious and sometimes harsh disciplinary mentors that ushered him through his journey was so touching and made me think of some of the great teachers that have had influence on me through my professional career. I was hoping Lee was going to have a few tales of growing up in Taylor and Oxford back in the 80's and 90's and how tough it must have been to be black and living in the remnants of the Jim Crow era. He touched on it but I guess it never bothered him so he didn't think it was important. I would say that is a good thing for him not to harp on that and not have the victim mentality that too many AA leaders foment for personal profit. UT seems Lee just plowed forward and never got caught up in that bitter vindictiveness - good for him. I actually met Lee on a flight to Atlanta from Memphis a few weeks ago. And I am glad I did in just that short period on that plane I felt like I had made a friend and now I now what my new friend is "made" of - pun intended. can't wait to hear some of the music.
