This book was so much fun! It's the second book on the Wedding Disasters series and can be read as a standalone, but both were so good you don't want to miss reading either of them. Isaac and Adrian were so good together, and I loved how Reginald was with Simon. All the side characters were great, and I can't wait for the next book!

Half baked and unconvincing. Nothing in this story has been given a second thought.

Instalove to the max, sheesh.

The prince of some small European country escapes his own wedding to nowhere Kansas and magically falls for a random man he has a brief concersation with. He likes the man enough to want to go back to said nowhere Kansas and pursue him.

It was one conversation in a Burger King. That meet-cute was not nearly enough to justify wanting to fly across an ocean.

Not Bad

The storyline has all the anticipated points and adds one or two that might not be expected. Plot revolves around the relationship, background and character development are a bit thin. Some tension, minor drama, and a positive ending with a last twist into the next book.

Suddenly, its the end of July slash beginning of August, and I have so many currently-borrowed-ARCs due. Here's to me speed-reading (which, frankly, I'm great at). "Runaway Prince" by D.K. Sutton. Its the second book in her Wedding Disaster's series.

["The royal wedding took years to prepare but only one moment of panic and a cute single dad to undo.

As a European prince, I should want for nothing, right? I have money, power, prestige. But what about love and passion? Acceptance?

Running to America on the eve of my wedding isn’t the responsible thing to do. Just ask my mother, the Queen. She has quite a few thoughts on the subject.

While hiding from my protection detail in a Burger King, I meet Isaac and his son. This protective father interrupts me, calls me a menace, and doesn’t believe I’m a prince. I’m instantly smitten. All of this is new to me. I’ve never been attracted to a guy…or anyone, for that matter.

But Isaac has his own responsibilities and our chance meeting complicates his life in ways I couldn’t have imagined. As we work together to mitigate the damage, I fall even harder for this amazing man.

How can this work when we live in different countries? Will Isaac lose the person he cares about most? Will my country accept a gay future king?

I don’t know what happens next, but I know I can’t face it without Isaac by my side."]

This book was a SMIDGE dramatic, but Adrain (our Prince Charming) is dramatic as fuck...as is Simon (though, he's five, so he gets a pass)...and Isaac (though, he'd deny it). But it was glorious as all hell. I loooooved it. All of the fluff and the hesitancy and the support and the spice and the judgment and the drama (there really was a lot of drama).

But Adrain was perfect for Isaac (and Simon). He made Isaac relax and have fun and let go. Isaac made Adrain care, gave him purpose, gave him a family. And then there was our perfect and sweet (and soooo sassy) Simon (and Stella the timer). God, I wanted to cuddle the crap out of him. Not to mention Reggie (god, he needs a HEA).

Speaking of HEAs, there are literally so many different directions this series can go from here (and by so many, I mean three or four, but THREE OR FOUR--I want them all now (please)).

Trigger Warnings: side character with substance abuse issues, grief due to the loss of an adult sibling (not mcs), and more.

I received a free advance copy. This review is submitted voluntarily.

Isaac is a single parent of a five-year-old, Simon. As he does not follow any social networks, he does not recognize, nor does he believe that Adrian is a prince who has run away on the eve of his wedding and whom they run into at Burger King. Isaac thinks Adrian is a homeless person attempting to lure Simon. The Prince is simply hiding from his security detail, i.e. Reginald. However, the attraction is immediate. Unfortunately, Adrian is recognized. Reginald finds him and takes him back home. After arriving, Adrian discovers that a reporter who has been trying to destroy the Royal Family is sitting on a story about Isaac and his refusal to give Simon’s mother any visitation rights, given her record as a drug addict. So, Adrian flies back to the small town where Isaac lives to warn him. They work together to deal with the issue and spend a lot of time together. They go through a series of difficulties before reaching their HEA.

The book doesn’t have a lot of angst and what there is, is of short duration. A number of the characters are familiar from the first instalment, including two of the main characters, Isaac and Simon. Isaac’s main concern surrounds his son’s wellbeing. He is nonetheless very responsible, though heavily in debt thanks to his custody battle with Simon’s maternal grandparents. Conversely Adrian has spent a lot of his life running away from his duties. They prove that opposites attract, helped by the fact that they’re really sweet. Simon, the five-year-old, supplies a lot of the humour in the book (often unwittingly), though he has competition for humour in the person of Zye, Isaac’s boss at the wedding planning agency. The remaining secondary characters are all quirky in their own ways and they help move things along when it comes to the storyline. The plot is fairly straightforward in going from point A to point B with few diversions along the way.

All in all, a nice second instalment in the series.

I'll start this by saying I started this book on a sunday morning, got 15 percent in, then devoured the other 85 percent on Monday! Couldn't put it down!

Issac and Adrian are a strong rival to my favorite Wedding Disaster couple beside Aidyn and Garrett (it was so cool to see them from the outside. Especially in Aidan's POV because he could see through what no one else would believe since they're all practically family) And yes I'm aware I'm reading these all out of order lol

Anyway, the pain and bond I felt with and for Issac was so strong. That "want to wrap a blanket around him" feeling kept me tiring the pages becO might have been just as ready for him to finally take a chance for himself as he was. Jane did a number on his ability to believe he was worth the risk it took to date an actual freaking PRINCE. He was so concerned about his son, and that struggle of want and need for him was so well written!

And then there was Adrian and his curiosity for a world he'd never been exposed to. It didn't take him long to find it why he's never felt like he belonged in the path he was on, and I'm glad he took the cue and cherished every moment of being his true self to the point no one could resist falling for him.

But Adrian's country and title presented challenges that people in Issacs life turnes intuitive opportunity to try and force Issac back into that safe little box where he sacrificed his happiness for the off chsnce his son might get hurt if he didn't. Jane shows up with a reporter with demands, and though she seems to finally be on the right track, it only invites me trouble into an already tricky relationship.

I loved how at the end, both men took th initiative to find their way back to each other even without the promises the other would accept. It was so beautiful and emotional and inspiring! I'm so glad i had toys book to get me through a rough day. As always, i can rely on a DK Sutton book to give me all the feels. She never disappoints.

Isaac likes order. He has two jobs, one he loves and the other to pay his bills. His life is a spreadsheet. And that's how he likes it. A single dad, Simon is his first priority. No dating, no men, even if he had the energy. On their weekly trip to King Burger King, he finds a vagrant crouching behind the BK statue, hiding. Which of course draws Simon's attention. Isaac accuses Adrian of being a possible child abductor. He insults him and thinks he's delusional. But he feeds him.
Adrian can't forget the man who treated him like a 'real' person and his so charming son. When his ex threatens Isaac's spreadsheet life, Adrian takes the chance to see him again.
DK Sutton does what she does best. Takes a simple story and twists it into a chaotic, hysterically funny mess. And ensures that her characters get their HEA. She makes them work for it. Disapproving family, whiteboards, tiaras, and paparazzi all make it difficult . Adrian is a real life prince, with a real life palace. How can Isaac, a simple accountant, fit into his world. Oh, the angst!
Isaac can't keep Adrian at arms length. The story goes from slow burn to hot and steamy. And once they kiss, there's no way they'll keep their hands off each other.
Reginald is a stern bodyguard who absolutely melts when Simon decides that they're best friends. Adrian's royal parents come around. And Adrian's brother, 'mad scientist' Phillipe proves to be their best ally. These are some of the best secondaries I've ever read.
Absolutely loved the book. It's a quick, lite read with an uplifting, fun storyline. There's at least two or three more books in this world. And I can't wait.
I received an advanced copy of this book and this is my review.

I loved the fun and funny meet cute between Isaac & Adrian. Simon really adds a sweet & innocent element to the story. It was nice to interact with him more in this book since we didn't get to enjoy him much from Zye & Miles' story (understandable, since he is Isaac's son).

It was difficult learning about the rough background with the Ex and her attempted custody battle. But it was really good to see she's making positive changes in her life to hopefully be there for Simon.

Adrian was an interesting main character. As a prince, he exuded a definite presence of power, but he never flaunted it. He was always sweet and devoted to Isaac & Simon. Once he had realized his feelings for Isaac were real and lasting, he knew he'd do anything to be together, but as the next in line for his country's throne, that threw a definite wrench into plans for the future. I appreciated the epilogue the author gave the MCs though, as a practical plan for their relationship moving forward.

Reggie is a fantastic side character. Super sweet with Simon, and a surprising fanboy about Cher & Zye from the last book. Super supportive and protective of Adrian. It would be fun if he eventually gets his own story, but I can see how that wouldn't make a ton of sense, unless we get to spend some more time in Lutiana.

I'm looking forward to the next story that will involve some Vegas (disastrous) fun. 😉

I received an advance copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.

From the moment a totally apropos Burger King meet cute sets the royal tone, this story is off and running, heavy with fish out of water, opposites attract, royal x commoner vibes. It’s not quite love at first sight, but it is something — definitely attraction, an instant connection, and a need for more.

I didn’t expect to fall completely in love with stoic, straight-laced, single dad Isaac. Sure, I liked him well enough in book one, and his son Simon is super cute, but I didn’t anticipate finding his story this compelling. He’s jugging so many things and feels the weight of it all, and I really felt for him.

The titular runaway groom being a royal prince is also a fun twist, and for once, he’s not running from an arranged marriage. Instead, Prince Adrian’s fleeing the weight of familial expectations and responsibility, a pressure that’s as common in royal stories as his throngs of admirers. Prince Adrian simply wants to be loved for who he is, not his title or standing, and I don’t think it’s too much to ask.

Overall, this story is relatively low angst despite the inherent challenges of their situation, Isaac’s troublesome exes, and a brief third-act separation. Simon plays an adorable little matchmaker, and I enjoyed the energy and enthusiasm he brings to the story.

D.K. Sutton seems to be setting up several future stories toward the end of this one, and I’m looking forward to what’s next. The blurb for Book #3 says it’ll be Rainn and Mac’s story which promises to be an epic best friends to lovers romance with a huge sexual reckoning.

I absolutely adored this book and smiled, giggled, and laughed all the way through it. I loved the connection between Isaac and Prince Adrian, but I think my favorite characters were Simon and Reggie. Simon, that little 5-year old, had every one of the 5 adult males wrapped around his little finger. Reading about his enthusiasm, his caring, a maturity beyond his years at times, then vulnerable and empathetic at others, made me think of sunshine whenever he was around. Simon especially had Reggie, Prince Adrian’s steward, ready to do anything for him, and Reggie often put himself into the mindset of a 5 year old to entertain him when needed. One of my favorite mind visuals was Reginald with a tiara on his bald head, joining four other men and a child, all with tiaras of their own, parading around an office with an emu. Simon was the character I could visualize the best.
The budding romance between single dad Isaac and Prince Adrian was sweet, developing from that initial encounter at Burger King (which got a lot of plugs in this book, as Simon’s favorite fast food place) to a visit to the palace, and facing down the paparazzi, all on the way to a well-deserved HEA. A thoroughly enjoyable book that keeps you in a good mood beginning to end.

Zye's sparkly purple gel pen, warp factor 10, a Whopper, sharp cutty thing, Zye's Whiteboard

This book is grand, enjoyable, satisfying, and funny. I love 5 year-old Simon with his innocence and his lack of a filter! "Runaway Prince" is a great addition to D.K. Sutton's "Wedding Disasters" series. It helps to have read "My Best Friend's Wedding Planner, Book 1" (which is also excellent), the overall storyline will make more sense. In fact, you'll probably need to read both books in order to make sense of the next book, "My Big Fat Secret Gay Wedding".

The book opens with a parade at Zye's Zyetastic Weddings. It vaguely describes Zye, Miles, Simon, and an emu. But you need to read Book 1 to understand the emu.

Next, Prince Adrian of Lutiana meets Simon, Isaac's 5 year-old son in a Burger King. Next to the Burger King statue. It's amusing and sets up the story which is a sideways title-play of the movie, "Runaway Bride".

I was captured and entertained with the story. Drama and comedic scenes drive the book, and the imagery is easily pictured. Ms. Sutton's style and writing enables and ensures it. All the characters are wonderful and likeable. I avidly recommend reading this!

Prince Adrian runs away from his own wedding and winds up hiding in a Burger King where he meets Isaac and his son Simon. Isaac does not believe he is a prince and calls him a menace. Adrian finds himself attracted for probably the first time in his life. Isaac, though, has responsibilities and their chance encounter causes problems for Isaac. Working together to fix those problems cause both men to feel things they never expected.

You cannot help but fall in love with these two. Isaac is working two jobs to make ends meet. He is devoted to his son and wants to keep him from being hurt. Adrian has never met anyone who does not kowtow to him. He finds it refreshing and wants more. He also finds life outside the palace somewhat perplexing and Isaac has him doing things he has never done before. Love finds those two but it is not easy and they certainly have their work cut out for them. Pick this one up and be prepared to smile. There is an emu, tiaras, and so much love. You will surely be enchanted.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book and this is my very own opinion.

Adrian thought that he could marry and be alright with the life that he and his arranged bride, who is also a good friend, would have. But as the wedding approached he realized he wanted more. So the day before he slips his security detail and runs away to the United States. While on the run he meets Isaac and his adorable son Simon. For the first time, he feels the passion and the interest that he thinks a partner in life should spark in him. Their meeting was not a meet cute as Isaac was wary of the man that his son approached while Adrian was hiding out in Burger King. However, despite their very different lives these two realize quickly that the other brings something to their existence that had been missing. This prince ran away and found love. They just needed to work on how to make a life together work, taking into account what Simon would need as well. I liked that they pace the development of their relationship to include what is best for Isaac's young son. I am intrigued that we are once again meeting Rainn at the end of this story. He was in the first book and I am looking forward to his story.

'I’m not looking for a prince. Just someone sweet and nice to my son.
Is that too much to ask?'

I really enjoyed this book. The premise drew me in, I love [secret?] royalty romance, and a runaway groom prince. I was excited to delve into this story. It turned out to be a fun adventure. I loved both Isaac and prince Adrian. I LOVED their first meeting. Kind of a meet-cute in a distrustful father, flirty secret prince kind of way. And just like that I was hooked. Little Simon was so sweet and trusting too- innocent in a way that young children are, and I liked that despite his predicament, Adrian kept talking to him and letting him be a part of the conversation.

'Running away to America was a terrible idea. The worst. And I’ve had my fair share in the last twenty-five years. But everything that’s coming— the wrath of my parents, my ex-fiancée, my country— might be worth it for this moment alone.'

I loved the supporting characters- especially Reginald. I liked Reggie's relationship in service to the prince, and the things he's willing to put up with made me laugh. Simon stole the show. A wonderful romance. 5 stars.

I have received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion

This was a gamble on my part. I usually do not like to read a book in which one (or both) of the MC already has a kid. But the plot truly intrigued me so I went for it. And I’m glad I did.
I really liked the book, as I did with previous books from this author, so there’s no surprise there.
The real surprised was to see how good of a pair Adrian and Isaac made, truly made for each other.
When people say “you bring out the best in your partner” they are definitely talking about these two.
And Simon was such a sweet and funny little guy you could not not love him!
All the side characters were lovely, but I have to say Isaac still has my heart. And especially seeing him being a father, his relationship with his son was everything.
This is the second book in the series, but can be read as a standalone.
I know some characters were already present in the first books so now I have to go and read that as well, obviously.

SWEET,FUN SLOW BURN WITH HEART!💕

The second book of the Wedding Disasters series gives us a bigger insight into Isaac’s mindset and life where he meets his Prince Charming in a Burger King!

I loved the concept of the story with a touch of Cinderella, humour, sass and a matchmaking cutie that steals everyone’s hearts!

The character growth of his royal highness Prince Adrian Cordolini was gradual but started when he first set eyes on the gorgeous father who mistook him for a vagrant and kidnapper with humoristic results- Isaac Brandt.

I enjoyed their journey to their ultimate happiness with a bit of angst regarding Isaac’s exes, the differences in their stations and the charm and sass of a five year old boy- Master Simon Brandt!

The support of Zaye and Miles was heartwarming together with characters from Lutania…

This was a fun, heartwarming and sweet slow burn with a HEA into their future.

I look forward to Rainn’s story with news from Vegas…

What a fantastic story!

This book is amazing and I loved it! It’s back to Zye and his wedding planning business for Isaac and Adrian’s story. One is a single father, the other is a Prince. They meet when Adrian runs away the night before his own wedding, that Zye has planned. They encounter each other in a Burger King and it’s quite an interesting meeting. There will be more time spent together as the two get to know each other and feelings begin to grow rather quickly. Along for this crazy ride is Adrian’s bodyguard Reginald, who is one of my favorite parts of the story. He and Isaac’s son, Simon, seem to get along rather well and are soon as thick as thieves. There is some drama, heartbreak and a few bumps along the way, but in the end, Isaac manages to get his happily ever after with his very own Prince and it’s absolutely amazing!

I read an ARC copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.

I need more prince stories in my life. I had been craving a good one and D.K. Sutton delivered with Runaway Prince. These characters are fun and delightful. I always appreciate when kids are included in a story, and little Simon was adorable and hilarious.

I was intrigued by Isaac in the previous book and it was a treat to read his story. It was great to see him find his prince. He and Adrian are wonderful together. As in the previous book, the main characters in this book were surrounded by great secondary characters. I enjoyed the many interactions with friends and family. It made for a more well-rounded book. I would not have minded witnessing someone receive his comeuppance, but I was treated to some grand romantic gestures, which made me perfectly happy.

I was fascinated by some teasers with other characters and have my fingers crossed that there will be stories for all of them.

This was a sweet story with Simon and Adrian's bodyguard being the more interesting characters who I would dearly love to spend time with. Some drama in the story but it was all quite tame. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was a MM story with mature content.

This book was an absolute blast! As the second installment in the Wedding Disasters series, it can be read as a standalone which is what I did but I'm definitely going back to read the first in the series. Isaac and Adrian have incredible chemistry and their dynamic is both heartwarming and entertaining. I also loved the relationship between Reginald and Simon, which added another layer of depth to the story.

The side characters are all well-developed and contribute significantly to the narrative, making the world feel rich and vibrant. Their interactions and subplots enhance the main storyline and keep the reader engaged. The humour, romance and unexpected twists make this book a delightful read from start to finish.

I can't wait for the next book in the series to see what hilarious and heartwarming disasters unfold next!

What a fabulous addition to this series this book is, and I loved it from the meet-cute in the beginning to the epilogue at the end. I liked Isaac when we met him in the first book, and Adrian is lovely and perfect for him. Watching their feelings grow despite their differences and working out how to be together was terrific despite the obstacles and some heart-searching. It was good to see more of Zye and Miles from the first book, but for me, Simon, and Adrian’s bodyguard, Reggie, were the standout secondary characters and provided a lot of fun to their story.
This was a sweet, low-angst, fun story with banter and heat that I highly recommend. I can't wait for the next book in this amazing series.

Sweet, slow burn, fairy tale romance

Issac is a single dad who has the weight of the world on his shoulders.
Simon is absolutely adorable and precocious.
Adrian is a prince on the run from responsibilities.
When they meet, it's a comedic situation.
Even though Issac is wary, he's also concerned about his circumstances and tries to make sure he's ok.
As they slowly get to know one another, it becomes clear that Issac hasn't been happy for a long time and puts immense pressure on himself.
Adrian has never really been seen for who he is, always afraid that people only want his influence.
There were some difficult moments, but in the end, love prevails, and these two could not have been any more perfect for each other.

Prince Adrian runs away to the US on the eve of his wedding as he does not want to get married. He hides in a Burger King where Isaac's son Simon finds him. Isaac gives him a piece of his mind. Adrian likes it because no one has done that before. Prince Adrian's people find him and take him home. He and Isaac both keep thinking about the other but Isaac figures nothing can come of their attraction because of they live in different worlds and different countries. Adrian does come back and tracks Isaac down at his place of work. Will word get out about the two of them? Will their attraction work out?

I enjoyed this story. I liked Adrian and Isaac and especially the secondary characters. They were a quirky bunch of people. Simon's a doll who has such faith that all will work out between his dad and Prince Adrian. The story was fun. Just the right book for a summer's day.

One deed can change lives. Adrian, is a prince running away from predained obligations. Isaac, is a single Dad to Simon. They meet under unusual circumstances with Adrian on the run and Isaac thinking Adrian is after Simon. Once things settle down, Isaac helps Adrian. Months past, Adrian is still thinking of Adrian. When they finally recommunicate, outside noise in the form of exes friends and family, seem to try to nip the relationship in the bud. There seems to be more against a friendship that for. Our guys don't have an easy time which make the relationship more precious. Nice cover art! Good story, nicely done. The story needed more time. I received an ARC and am volutarily leaving a review.

This story gave me Cinderella vibes with a twist. My heart melted for Isaac and Simon. Isaac's past baggage left him with debts and feelings of low self esteem. Prince Adrian saw past all that to the man beneath. Obstacles keep popping up to ruin the budding romance. Reginald quietly crept into my heart. The way he protected and cared for Adrian and fell for Simon too was heartwarming. I loved Adrian's persistence and patience in waiting for his heart's desire. This gave me a rollercoaster of emotions that I enjoyed every moment of. There was so much love in this story that I'm still feeling it. The teaser for the next book is literally killing me, I can't wait for it.

Carrying on from Miles and Zye's crazy antics in My Best Friend's Wedding Planner, we have Isaac, who works part time for Zye and his adorable 5 year old son, Simon who is ready to take on the role of matchmaker to a prince...

With a cast of characters that will leave you dizzy, you have everyone and an Emu... including Isaac's ex-wife, Adrian's bodyguard, their families, friends and more, you'll find that this book is a slow burn, swoony comedy and it totally works.

This book can be read standalone, but is best when read in order. I can't wait to see what happens next in the Wedding Disasters world.

Prince Adrian ran away the night before his wedding and finds himself in small town Missouri,  America where he meets Isaac and his son Simon. What a meet cute it was!

Obviously they are from very different worlds. It was super sweet watching Isaac helping Adrian learn all the new things he's never done before, even the simple tasks he's used to others doing for him.

Their budding relationship has a few obstacles as you could expect. I enjoyed watching them sort their way through it all. Simon is super adorable and I loved his friendship with Reginald.

Another fun story with minimal drama I thoroughly enjoyed.
I can't wait for book 3!!

After a case of mistaken identity, Isaac and his son Simon find out the stranger they met at Burger King was really Prince Adrian. It's a fairy tale love story as against all odds, Isaac and Adrian make it work. Isaac's first priority is always the adorable Simon and Adrian would give up his world for them. It's a slow burn but respectful love story as friends and relatives do their part to help Isaac get his Prince Charming. I received a copy of this book through Gay Romance Reviews and this is my voluntary opinion.
