A good book but I didn’t find it a smooth read. As you’ll see it took me 3 days to read it. However to be fair I’m 82 and my brain doesn’t work so well.
It has been a long journey with Camilla and Richard, and it certainly isn’t over yet.
I look forward with great anticipation to their adventures in Capri.
Anything I write about Richard, Camille, Cicely and Coco might be interpreted as giving away the plot, so I will not.
I will simply say that “Murder in Cairo” has enough twists and turns to satisfy even the most critical of readers — so I will just invite you sink into your favorite chair and let the story embrace you.
For me, this wasn't as good as some of the others I have read and I admit, I found this rather boring. There was lots of talk and very little action. Things were said in ways that seemed important but then were never mentioned again. It wasn't so much red herrings as damp squids. As for the ending, well that depends on your outlook on life. Personally, I've never really believed in the fairy tale.
A Powerful Female Goddess and a Ruthless Band of Smugglers!
Andrea Hicks spins a twisted tale of deceit and callous greed. The assignment in Cairo should have been Richards chance to shake off the dreadful tedium of crime in London. It isn't to be and that brings us a high risk adventure amoung the pyramids. A thoroughly engrossing tale and a wedding to boot.
The descriptions of the country and beautiful structures make its way into your mind. The connections of new adventurous people is exciting. Love the stories.
I truly enjoy following Richard and Camille's journey towards each other as well as their work together crime solving. Truly enjoy the secondary characters as well. A sweet read.
Cecilia and Camille are off to Egypt to find and break up a smuggle by ring. Smuggling Ancient Egyptian artifacts. They meet good people and bad and Cecilie really comes into her own.
Always enjoy the historical travel and exposure to other cultures displayed in this series. So happy for Camille and Richard. It was a tortured road to a happy ending.
