Step aside, Zodiac. There’s a new serial killer on the loose in San Francisco, and the police have enlisted Poppy and Ophelia’s help to get to the bottom of it.
With multiple bodies already having been found, and the killer showing no signs of stopping, Poppy knows they’re racing against the clock to save as many lives as possible. The killer has made it obvious he's after attention, but once he realizes he's got Ophelia’s, he makes it clear he thinks he's a match for her.
Poppy finds herself in the middle of a battle of wits, with deadly consequences. But, as she and Ophelia get closer to finding the killer in their midst, it becomes clear that the killer is willing to stop at nothing to come out the winner—even if that means killing Poppy and Ophelia.
Will they find the killer and get justice for the victims before the killer adds them to the body count?
This series is absolutely my guilty pleasure series. So easy and safe to read. Low stress still and entertaining story and extremely lovable characters. I’ll miss Poppy and friends 🥲♥️
I've listened to all the Poppy Perkins books. They're lightweight, short, and don't require a lot of concentration when you're doing something else whle listening. I like them. The narrator, Khristine Hvam, however, is annoying. Although I like most about her performance, her volume goes up and down, particularly on Ophelia's voice and it's annoying to have to continuously adjust my volume on my reader or reverse to listen to it again. This is true in EVERY Poppy Perkins book. I really wish the narrator would change or be advised to maintain a constant volume. I've been told the author doesn't have a lot of say in narrators, but I'd think her production company would listen.
I just so enjoy your books. If I could give you 6 stars, I would. I have all your upcoming books on my calendar and always look forward to another Cozy Mystery. My Kindle Bubble is a nice place to be in these crazy times. Major Mahalo, Robert Ericksen
I really enjoyed this series! I felt connected with Poppy. She has some of the same struggles and dreams that I have had, and reading how she processed and dealt with them was helpful. Taylor is absolutely a wild card, and I would love a series about her!
It took me two whole days of non-stop reading to finish these 7 great books! I am not going to ruin it by giving up any of the story line but just that for a while I was Poppy .
I truly didn’t want this series to be over. It was so engaging with a lot of wit. The characters were so believable and easy to relate to. I hope there will be more Poppy books in the near future.
I really enjoyed the Poppy Perkins series. The series made me laugh and I enjoyed Ophelia‘s superpowers. Definitely recommend I enjoyed reading this after reading the Charlotte Gibson series.
3.75 stars It’s a wrap! Read You Like a Crook is the final book in the Poppy Perkins cozy mystery series by Jasmine Webb. Overall, I really enjoyed this series, the set-up, the crime-solving, and most of the characters. The last couple of stories were not my favorite, but the concluding story was much more interesting and engaging. Though I still didn’t care for Ophelia’s arrogance and seeming “super-powers”, and it was a bit silly in parts, I was nonetheless, entertained and I am sad to see this series end. This last story was a sweet and satisfying wrap-up.
This was fun in a weird way, I was in High School living in Napa when the Zodiac was out scaring everyone. To bad Ophelia wasn't around then. Loving having Nick back for a while.
"Read You Like a Crook" plunges Poppy and Ophelia into the desperate hunt for a serial killer stalking San Francisco. Taylor is thrilled, as she's always wanted to bring down a serial killer. With bodies dropping, Ophelia zeros in on the killer in a deadly game of cat and mouse. But who's who?
SPOILERS AHEAD, READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!
I am bereft that Ms. Webb is ending this series! I love every character, but Ophelia is something special, and Taylor is my hero. I will miss them.
I am sad to see this series end. It was a lot of fun reading it. I have to admit reading about the raspberry cheesecake donuts made me yearn for some. Now on to the next Jasmine series.
