Catherine Marzanna Owner of Marzanna Fashion and Shipping Kansas City
I started Marzanna Fashion and Shipping ten years ago, and we made a name for ourselves across the country. Recently, they told me we need fresh talent; I reluctantly agreed. New designers are good for business, even if I am misanthropic. I let my team handle the hiring process. Then they hired her- a gorgeous, voluptuous girl. My first thought was Mine.
She is my employee. She is younger than me. Yet, all I can think about is how she will feel in my arms. My life is too dark for her, too dangerous. But the need to claim and pleasure her is overwhelming. I can keep her safe if I keep her close. The war between keeping her close but removed from my secrets is relentless. I can't stay away from her.
Corrupt Goddess is the first book in a series of interconnected standalones. It is first chronologically but does not need to be read first. It is a sapphic mafia romance with dark scenes and explicit content.

I love Mafia Romance in general. But this is different. It's Sapphic Mafia Romance. And I didn't realise how much I needed this in my life until now. What a combination! And so beautifully portrayed by April. Catherine and Jo's story kept me absolutely captivated and wanting more. The spice was descriptive and incredibly spicy! I cannot wait to see what else comes from this author!
Tropes: - Mafia romance - Sapphic Romance - Workplace romance - Lots of spice - Plus sized FMC rep
I read this book as an arc read, and loved every second of it.
Catherine is the owner of Marzanna Fashion, and is also part of the mafia and a pleasure Domme. Jo is a plus size designer that gets a job at the fashion house, which is her big dream.
There is an instant connection between them but Catherine is concerned that because she’s the boss, and also older than Jo, plus the fact that she is part of a very dangerous world, that Jo might get hurt. It’s only when Jo ends up in a dangerous situation that Catherine realises just how much Jo means to her. They start a relationship and everything’s going well, for a while at least.
Jo heads into the warehouse one evening to check on the dress that she’s designed and made, and realises just how dangerous Catherine can be, and runs from her, terrified.
Jo avoids Catherine for several weeks, until she decides that she needs answers and finds out everything about Catherine’s world.
That’s when things get even more dangerous and there are several big twists to the story.
The book is amazing. It’s all about women’s empowerment and joy, but also vulnerability between two people who have to deal with dangerous situations, whilst fall in love with each other.
I would recommend this book to anyone that loves dark romance, mafia romance, and FF romance 🥰
3 words. Sapphic. Mafia. Romance. Those three words were the only thing I knew before diving head-first into Corrupt Goddess and I have zero regrets.
The. First. Page. That is where it all began and I was 100% sold. Except for stopping for clients at work, I did not put this book down. It has intrigue, a refreshing quality to the plot, and lots of spice. Wonderfully done, heaping spoonfuls of spice that don't read like every other open-door scene out there. And toys.. lots of toys. Alongside that spice is a story about two, vastly different women who come together after experiencing a full body rush at first glance. With insecurities, a troubling past, and a plethora of secrets, the reader is bound to become entangled in their whirlwind. I sure was. Corrupt Goddess has both light and dark themes throughout. I look forward to seeing where this series goes and what new characters we will meet along the way.

First thank the good Lord for having April's Corrupt Goddess book land across my feed one day.
I have been PRAYING for an author to do a FF mafia romance SO BAD and then April landed on my feed with this delicious and spicy read. All expectations I had of this book went right out of the window ASAP, April blew my expectations and mind with the storyline as well as Jo and Catherine together. Getting into it, she hits the ground running. Lots of plot twists, *sexual* chemistry and realistic characters for a change. Everything between these two were VERY organic and realistic. Sometimes, FF romances can come along kinda and be too much of a cliche. But not with Jo and Catherine. April did an incredible intertwining so many layers and aspects to the story. Both Jo and Catherine's professional and personal relationship, the mafia side, the fashion side and everything in between. It was well plotted and didn't lack in pacing at all. Kept me very engaged! The spice was really good and tastefully done! This will be a read in my personal shelf and I can not wait!
I was intrigued by it by the second chapter. The relationship between the two main characters is refreshing and feels realistic. There were parts in the story that didn't feel too 'cliche' nor unexpected. There was a lot of back and forth and complications that kept the characters busy (as well the reader). Catherine and April felt real, acted their age, and I loved the interactions between them. Nothing felt forced in terms of forcing interactions/chemistry. The pace was just right.
As long as a book entertains me throughout and gets a laugh and a smile out of me at least a few times, 5 stars is well earned! I really enjoyed the story! There was hefty spice, romance, some intrigue and the characters of Jo and Catherine were a fun pairing! Great for anyone who likes age gap, grumpy/sunshine FF pairings and a dominant/submissive dynamic. There is quite a bit of sex and even some man-candy for those who enjoy FFM scenes, so it's a great bedtime read! A bit of violence too as it has some mafia related scenes.
This was a wild, hot ride. There is no lack of steamy scenes or tension. You will not have to wait for this story to heat up. It jumps right into the intimate aspect with great description. The characters have an instant pull towards each other. There is drama, conflict, and just the right amount of criminal activity to keep the reader turning the pages. Overall, I found this story entertaining and a good FF romance.
This was my first FF read ever. And I can say it did not disappoint! New Trope unlocked thanks to April Gaisford. The angst of this book had me hooked. The age gap is perfection. All scenes were beautifully written, and the plot was incredible! I struggled putting it down and ended up devouring the book instead! This will definitely be one of my favorite reads here on out. Such a beautifully written Mafia story.
From the first page I was hooked, and I’m not really into FF books I don’t ever care to read them but this one had me hooked. The spice, the toyssss🫣 I actually really really enjoyed it beautifully written.
This was my first FF read. Not really my thing but I’ll give anything a try 😂. This book was really well written with a decent amount of spice. I loved the strong FMC & mafia connection.
The book had me in a tight grip and could not stop reading until the end. Yet wanted more. Captivating, steamy 🔥 scenes with major angs, the story leaves you breathless. A 5🌟 And so much more. The sex wonder didn't do it for me at the end of their HEA.
This book was amazing. More than I thought it would be by just reading the blurb. So glad that I was able to read this book! Can't wait to see what comes next in any kind of book
It was not for me. The relationship just was a little bit of for me. It sounded more of a possessive male and a possessive female (that’s how i felt not necessarily how other would feel/read it).
