**This is a STANDALONE but also book 4 in The Richmond Family Saga.**
There’s no such thing as living a simple life when you’re a part of the Richmond Crime Family, a husband, and a father. Life is what it is. For Kyan, a good day can comprise collecting his money, putting people in their place, and using a little force. Then, he gets to go home and be wrapped up in his wife and children, brushing off everything that happened before crossing the threshold of what’s supposed to be his sanctuary. Now, on a bad day, Kyan can be faced with deceit, betrayal, and lies. Those are the moments that test him the most, especially when it’s someone close to him that is determined to test the grip he has on his control.
What happens when life stresses you out to the point of no return? You find an outlet. Kyan finds his particular vice and tries to maintain a semblance of control. Yet, at every turn, he finds himself faced with snakes and obstacles. Soon, the only thing left for Kyan to do will be to shoot his way out–whether it be figuratively or literally. The only question remains is, who’s going to come out whole, and who is Kyan going to obliterate during his period of mayhem?
Not a strong finish at all, it just felt flat and forced. Also these can't e considered standalone when the previous book ends ons cliffhanger so I'm so confused by that.
I was soooo ready for Kyan to tell his story cause y’all was doing my cousin so bad. Talkin bout he a cheater and he wrong and all that rah rah mess and then we come and hear his side of the story to realize my cousin is a good man. Kyan is a good man Savanna stop playing in his face. Bree you had the audacity to play in Kyan face like that and I wished the entire time he unalived you. Cause you a low down dirty slut. Gon play on my cousin top like that knowing you did what you did. Girl FU! I’m so glad he loved the kids the way he did. Instead of trying to do better and get better you worried about the girl who’s helping to raise your kids. Dame you are a FB and I prayed for you to be unalived. You had some big kahunas and I’m glad Kyan cut them off. To see Kyan, his girl, and the kids get some peace was exactly what none of them knew they needed and I’m happy Kyan got his HEA and the kids ended up right where they belonged. Great read and I’m so glad to see the RCF family stories continue.
Just know I loved this book. My review has way too much cursing going on about the shenanigans Tacarra took me through with Kyan and Aubree ! Lmao ! I wrote this one in my private journal but yall absolutely need to read this book ! I still wanna fight Aubree right now !
I’m so glad my baby Kyan got his happy ending, and I’m also glad that Aubree’s crazy ass didn’t ruin my man she trifling as fuck for how she played my boo. But Kyan got his kids and his woman so he straight. Out of all 4 books Kyan’s story was my favorite.
Since the beginning of this series, I found Kyan and Aubree’s situation to be odd. And as the series unfolded, it’s become even more confusing.
After reading this novella I don’t have any more clarity on what led to the events that were addressed. At the end, Kyan references the past 2 years being rough. But that doesn’t match the 8 year secret. I’m confused.
I still wasn’t a fan. I love Kim. Especially the way she held Promise down. She deserves more and better than this.
Not a fan of this couple, because it never really went anywhere and the focus was all on Kyan’s needs and nothing about Kim.
I would’ve enjoyed this more if it was longer. This was full of drama which I enjoyed because it was crazy, but it definitely could have just been added to book 3. There wasn’t much significant happening between Kyan & Kim due to them already establishing themselves in the previous books. Aubree was definitely wrong in how she was moving, but I didn’t necessarily agree with how Kyan handled Damien. I understand that he felt some type of way, but Damien did deserve to at least try and get to know KB.
Kyan’s story was the most aligned with realistic reactions. However, Father of the Year is too far a stretch. Kyan watched Bree neglect their children for years. Kyan watched her neglect their home environment and drink herself to drunkenness and did nothing to shield their children. Kyan can go to work or play to escape the toxic environment but the children remained in the home with take out and a despondent mother who was depressed and used alcohol to self-medicate. The accident was just as much everyone's fault who did nothing but allowed Bree to spiral. Tucking the kids in at night or showing your face was not enough. To be real, the children were neglected by both of their parents way before the accident.
Love is an action word that requires more than words. Before the accident, all the reader saw was them entertaining themselves with their headphones and iPads. I'm just saying the self- righteous stance was too extreme because there was not enough accountability taken on his part. Why stay in a loveless marriage so your children can feel the hostility and fumes of anger coming from their parents?
Kyan seeking solace in Kim after being depraved of peace, attention, adult companion for at least 2 years may seem justifiable to many but doors close and open for a reason. The Richmond men are faithful; they about their family, are they, Kyan?
As a former manager for the club, Damien knew who Kyan/Murda was played in fire without an extinguisher. Dude had 8 years to plan and plot knowing that his sinful disrespect would come to light. Where was the assassination attempt or portfolio to take down the RCF? Where was the scheme to runaway with the money saved by self and Bree to start a life in another country with Bree and their twins? Dude really thought his presence would be tolerated amongst men with ginormous egos and insurmountable power that he betrayed. Val knew immediately what he should have figured out since he had 8 years to think about it. To compound it, Damien chose to go into the man's home and screw his wife after being warned that he was given grace.
Kim left to escape a man who was unfaithful to her to be another man's side chick. I expected her thievery to come to light and a plot line dedicated to Kyan and RCF dealing with the fallout. But only got crickets. Luckily Knight and Knic provide comedic relief.
I don't know why the author used the husband's grieving as the catalyst for the demise of the twins' marriages since their wives aren't twins but it seemed irresponsible to me.
It just seems the ladies (Kim and Denver) were witty, strong, rational, emotionally intelligent, independent woman until the microscope was placed on them in books dedicated to relationships then poof they became someone less than their former selves.
OMG absolutely amazing series. Each Richmond man had their own issues and dealt with them accordingly, didn't too much agree with the way Kyan handle Damon, I felt they could have sent him away as well and maybe when the kids got older they could have been introduced but I understood where he was coming from KB was his daughter from the womb until present and the way their mother interacted with them while she was with their dad only to now have a boyfriend was confusing she never really spent time with them, yes she was in the home with them but that was it she was always drinking and that was because of guilt from what she had done; in her husband time of need while he was grieving she only thought about self and betrayed that commitment. Brie should have communicated her feelings better allowing them to comfort each other but she took the sneaky easy way out then continued with a bottle only neglecting her husband and kids, so when Kyan sought out affection and a shoulder to lean on from the opposite sex it wasn't from the lack of trying it was because his wife had built that guilt wall around herself shutting him out and that put a strain on him and the kids which they noticed but kept it inside. This clan was big on family and.loyalty and with the new women in their lives I know they got that. They need a holiday spin off letting the fans know what has happened😉
So, I mistakenly read the books out of order and read Book 4 before Book 3. I was wondering why we jumped from the interrupted proposal, but just rocked with it. Anyhoo, this was good. Kim and Kyan make a good couple, and she’s held him down through some mess. I did feel that, for as much as she said she didn’t want to make things awkward, she rarely removed herself from situations and yes Kyan wanted her there, but at times it wasn’t her place. Also, yes, it was selfish of Kyan not to have that man know his daughter but dem’s the breaks. I felt no sympathy for Bree at all. The ending was extremely abrupt with the I love yous coming way too early in their ‘just having fun, non relationship, but let’s move in together’ situationship. Also,
Lastly, one thing this author is gonna do is make sure characters’ kids have ugly names. The father is Kyan. The mother is Aubree so let’s call the kid Kyaubree. Ghe-tto. I started book 3 and THANK GOD Kyandri’s daughter is Kyandria Naomi. Still naming after the dad business but so beautiful. Aubree effed up lol.
Authoress Tacarra just keeps you laughing with this crew and their shenanigans. And the drama continues no matter how hard this family tries to stay away from it. That damn Aubree was a low down dirty bih, and she deserved EVERYTHING she got. It was the audacity for me, but she realized a lil too late that Murda was not to be played with, especially when it came to his children. She got off easy and I hope she stays out the way. That pu**y had Damien thinking he was exempt from the raft of Murda, he learned that lesson the hard way. When that bomb was dropped my heart aches for Kyan, and despite the devastation he still gave grace to those who betrayed his trust. Kim was his peace and had she not been in the picture I don’t think her place been as level headed as he was. I’m glad they stop pretending like they weren’t locked in with each other. It was so good catching up with the crew, and I’m so looking forward to the ladies dropping them babies, lbvs. LETS GO BOOK 5!!!
I hate it was so short but you did get right to the main point of the story. Aubree was a whole fool and can’t be mad with nobody but herself. Kyan was cool since they go by the family rules but I expected him to give more than he gave but his story was short so 🤷🏾♀️ we couldn’t get too much. I really wanted more from Kim seemed like she was Kyan yes man and didn’t really have a voice. Every response was “I’m okay” and “I’m here by your side” like I wanted to know deep down how she felt. She was a lot more feisty in book 1 and I thought that attitude would’ve been displayed in this book. But I’m glad they’re moving forward and hopefully it blooms into something but I kinda wanted to her live the single life a little. I still love to read about Knas and Promise loving each other.
Maybe killing Damien was a bit much and sending their mom away. Bree was very wrong for having Kyan raise someone else kids for 8 years and thinking she can just bring their real daddy in. Kyan wasn’t having it. As he should. I think Damien should have had a warning that scared him enough to stay away. Like beating him unrecognizable or slicing a hand or something. But I get it though. They tried his face. Damien was the manager of one of the RCF clubs at the time, so the cheating is unacceptable in a crime family. So how didn’t this happen to Denver in the last book. She definitely cheated for no reason and they brushed it off. Child. That last book was a mess. This redeemed it a little because I almost stopped the series after that book
Adultry tropes are never my thing so I wasn't sure how I was going to get through this part of the saga. 3 minutes in though, I saw clearly how I could get through it and continued on. Aubree was indeed chasing a death wish at every turn and the fact that her life was spared is still a mystery to me. Kyan was mad 98% of this 4 book saga but something about his quiet aggressive characteristics made him my favorite Richmond. Him and Kim are still kinda cringe to me because technically he did have a wife- triflin as she may have been. But we are here now and Imma stick beside them. I do wish the storyline was dedicated to him and Kim and their navigation into this life together. But... On to book 5.
Whew...just when I knew Kyan's story was going to be straight forward we were hit with the swerve and a 1 and a 2 and then Tacarra wanted to double back up and hit us up again. 😵💫🥴🥴. Had me bringing out the popcorn. Now out of all the books in this series, I must say this one is violent in a way that really effected me. The way ole dude who was responsible for that thing getting you know what really did affect my heart. Plus seeing how these people just shrug off Kyan's claim and assertions as "yeap, sure", plus the way everyone in that town is set up to just do whatever the RCF says was like...well dang...y'all are some legit villains 😄 but if I didn't love being intrigued by the drama and angst I wouldn't be reading the books. Tacarra definitely knows how to suck a reader in.
I thought Kyan was going to turn into Murda at the hospital. Aubree kept bringing up Kim like it was her fault they weren't getting along. She didn't want to take the blame for anything. I love the family dynamic, they have each no matter what. Kyan planned a day to spoil Kim and make it all about her and for sticking by him. Kim wanted to put her hands on Aubree, but refrain instead she cracked on her calling half baby mama. Knight ran with it also called her Woodrina. Everybody loves Kim even his kids which Aubree couldn't stand. I want a book about Knicole and X
This was my 2nd favorite book out of the series. It is also the shortest book out of the series at 93 pages. I definitely think Kyan story could have been a lot longer. He was emotionally damaged by his wife. He was lied to the entire marriage about his "kids." Smh Aubree deserved a lot worse than what she got. Life was too easy for her. I would have loved for the author to touch on his mental health, and that $200,000 that Kim stole from her ex before she went to the Wood. I like how Kim played her position, but I needed more. I need more. The RCF are some cold-blooded men. I appreciate that because they stand on business.
Imagine having this nagging feeling that your wife is hiding and keeping something from you , only for you to find out that it's most devastating secret imaginable. Visualize turning to alcohol because you know once the truth is revealed, your life may never be the same, if you're even left with one. Imagine going through the motions for the sake of your children, but it becomes harder to stay once you find the potential love of your life. Everyone around you is telling you to walk away, but you're conflicted because of the morals instilled by your family. This book had so many twists and turns. Although it was a nice read, so much seemed to be left out, and it ended abruptly.
Kyan stressed me OUT, at every turn I was like he about to lose it and body everybody! Whew loved that he stepped up for the kids and made Kim officially his lady. Is this series really over❤️?! I feel like we need Knic and X’s story? Enjoyed this series ALOT, it was something for everyone, all my favorite troupes in one series: arranged married, alittle kidnapping, a hidden baby and step daddy season 🤣😂😫🥰♥️❤️🫶🏾🫶🏾 loved it 🔥 The Richmond boys are wild and it’s family over everything‼️ Knight was my favorite cause he just a fool🤣😂
This Was A Great Read ❤️ Now, I Get What Aubree Did Was Messed Up But Those Are Still Her Kids & Damien Was Still That Lil Girls Father So I Don't Agree With How Kyan Handled That. I Know He Was Hurt...He Raised Them Kids From Birth So I Get It But He Was Wrong. Aubree Was A Horrible Person But I Still Think Kyan Should Have Handled Things Differently. I Can't Respect Kim For Entertaining Kyan While He Was Married. Kyan Should Have Left Aubree Completely Alone But I Get It Cause She Was Cheating Too. Overall, This Was A Good Read. ❤️
Sis really don’t know what standalone means. If you start these novellas out of order you really will be lost in the sauce. Damn near each book ended on a cliffhanger. Three stars for that and the grammar. I read Hassan’s book which led me to RCF. Anyways I really believe that had Aubree owned up to the mistake early on, Kyan may have given her grace. He was mourning his dad and she was lonely. He would have took it on the chin and gave her grace as exhibited by him allowing her to remain in the land of the living after the smoke cleared. Idk.
This was a short read full of drama. I never knew what Bree's deal was with all the drinking, but finding out that her kids were Dame's and Kyan's was mind-blowing. Eight years, and that is how it all came about. I Kim rocking with Kyan was good for his peace of mind. She loved him but she didn't inbed herself in his life. He appreciated that and loved her more for it.
"Oh my goodness, I can't even imagine how Kyan was feeling when he received the devastating news. The drama starts from the very first page. Okay, Aubree, I see you. Kim, just stand aside and watch everything unfold. Honey, it's a mess, and it's definitely worth reading. Come on and get your read on. You don't want to miss this. As always, it's a pleasure reading your books. 🥰"
This is my favorite so far of the serious. I wish it was much longer, but the short story we got was good. I was glad to finally know why Kyan was the way he was with his wife. That hoe needed an ass whooping trying to play victim when you were drunk driving and cheated on him. People do dumb shit and want others to feel sorry, no stupid- not how that works. I can’t wait to real Knicole book to finish out the series.
Mannn Kyan had turn of events to an already terrible situation. I’m surprised he stayed sane throughout all then to constantly have Aubree play in his face with thoughts that no consequences would come is beyond me! I’m sooo glad Kim is a strong woman within herself and we didn’t have too much back & forth cause lawd knows we can’t take no more of that lol! Now I’m interested in Knicole!
It can’t be over? Kyan and Kim were well worth the wait. It was action packed and Kyan bossed up just like I knew he would. I would have enjoyed more grown and sexy moments for this couple together but the book had other topics to handle.
Enjoyed this Richmond family saga! Ryan deserved happiness after things Aubree put him through! Kim was a grown woman in every way and just right for Kyan and the kids. I love how the family supported one another. I would love to see me ore the Richmond family. There's more to all of their stories!
Noooooo!!! I can’t believe this series is over!!! 😭 I flew through this entire series so fast, I don’t want it to end. I highly recommend this series to all. The plot is phenomenal. The drama is definitely at an all time high and the spice ooooohhhwweeee it’s spicy 🥵. Again phenomenal ending to a great series.
All the Richmond men found happiness. Aubree had to be the dumbest chick. It’s sad how Murda (Kyan) had to find out KB wasn’t his biological daughter. Kim was there for him through it all. I’m not saying I agree with how she and Kyan got together but I understand. Good series.
