“What did you say, little wolf?” he asked. “Repeat.” I swallowed saliva down my dry throat. “I don’t belong to you,” I repeated, staring into his amber eyes. The next moment he pounced on me with predator's intensity. He pinned my wrists in one hand and forced them above my head. Pressing my body with his heavy one, he growled, “You belong to me, little wolf. Remember that. I am going to hunt you from the depths of hell if you try to run or hide.” And then he captured my lips in a sizzling kiss.
After a perfect night with Violet, Dane rejects her, to marry Emily who is known to him from childhood and is the perfect choice.
Feeling insulted and dejected, Violet runs away.
However, Dane can't stop thinking about Violet and crazily hunts for her.
At his pre-wedding party, he sees Violet with someone else. Jealousy rips his heart and this time he won't let her go, even if that means he has to break the rules.
Violet resists him, because she has something precious to hide. What happens when Dane sees a pup who is his carbon copy? And he calls Violet, ‘Mom’.
Will Violet accept his rejection finally? Will Dane be able to seduce her back in his own, dark and twisted way? Or will he be forced to go back to Emily?
Kinda all over the place. Scene jumps without warning or description. One minute they’re in bed and the next sentence he’s sitting in a chair drinking whisky. Lots of this type of scene jumps. I think this is maybe a first book as the writing is a bit immature. However, grammar and spelling are good and the plot line itself is enjoyable. Violet is likeable and Dane is kind of funny. Dave (awful name for a child) is far too grown up in his speech and attitude considering he’s 4 years old.
Overall not a terrible book, but I won’t read book 2
I never want to trash or put down a persons efforts to follow their passion and write. It's not who I am. Very rarely do I write a bad review, only when I'm super mad or feel conned. That's the case here, I feel conned by the misleading five and four star reviews. I've given two stars purely because of the attempt to write and the plot. That's it.
The writing is awful. Sentences sometimes have words out of order or just plain missing. I can ignore it once or twice, even gracefully except it three times, but this was repeatedly to the point that the sentence didn't even make sense. That's incredibly hard to read.
Then the prose was just horrible. Emily, the 33 yr old H fiancee, successful popular model, speaks and acts like a 13 yr old mean girl. The H is a successful rich businessman (of course 🙄) who speaks and acts like a teenager as well. The h ends up a successful modelling agent with the same problem. None of these people would be successful in the real world speaking and acting like this. Her inability to sort out Johnny? Jeremy? Ugh, I hate him so much that I've blocked out his name. She ignored his inappropriateness, at times led him on, called him weak, and jelly spined (weird turn of frase), yet this is how she behaved with him AND the H. J (let's just call him that) suffered from the same over simplistic dialogue as all the over characters. Which is really quite a feat considering the supposedly 4 yr olds dialogue made him years ahead of his age. It was ridiculous.
By 30%, I was ready to throw in the towel, but having spent actual $$$ I had to go to work and earn, I started skimming, hoping it got better. More the fool me because it didn't. This leads me to wonder if this was AI written at least in part 🤔 Certain words and frases just didn't make sense. Sentence structure was sometimes questionable enough I'd finish one, then have to go back and reread it because it didn't make sense. It is either AI assisted or written by a teenager. If you want to use AI to help you write a book fine, but you need to state it similar to trigger warnings. It's hard to read, and considering this cost me over AU$7, I am pretty p*#sed off. If this was on Wattpad and free via watching endless ads to read, I wouldn't have a compliant. This is exactly the kind of work you'd find. However, this was published on Amazon, charged an expensive price for something that clearly never saw an editor. Combined with all the overly positive false reviews, to also finish on a cliffhanger where nothing, and I mean NOTHING has been solved, I'm pretty mad. I basically wasted my money and my time for nothing.
I really don't want to seem like I'm blasting the author, I just wish there was a review like this to stop me spending money. This was not for me which is a pity as the plot was vaguely interesting. The problem is the execution. See an editor, fix the writing, lower the price, problem solved.
I believe you should always end on something nice, so It has a nice cover.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
And that 1.5 is a stretch. If I hadn't paid for this book it would have 100% landed in my DNF pile.
To sum it up in a single word: Juvenile.
The dialogue in particular is pretty atrocious and I can't help but attribute grade school voices to–which then lets in the ick factor because there are sex scenes. The plot leaves a lot to be desired as well. For instance, knowing the "suitable" arranged mate your mate is engaged to is a model, you're then going to be a modelling agent in Miami and act shocked that your paths have crossed? Seriously. Also, Dane must have been leaning over the barrel for his contacts because he couldn't find her in Miami working under her own name? She didn't even have a bad fake name, she used her own given at birth and has used her whole life name.
Next, we're asked to believe that Violet is so strong and has grown so much. Yeah, well, I have a hard time believing that Violet's character is so good at her high powered job, the "best", easily manages difficult/demanding people, but at the first sight of Dane she turns into a mud covered doormat the moment re-enters the picture. He railroads her and she just takes it.
Also, the book references their initial time together as a one night stand a couple of times but it wasn't a one and done. He had sex with her multiple times over a couple of days. Lastly, he keeps the mother around despite her multiple death threats to his mate? After she backhanded his son?! GTFO with noise.
*BOOK REVIEW* BOOK: Luna's Secret: Pregnant With Alpha's Son Book 1 AUTHOR: Misha Kr REVIEW: This book was excellent! It was spicy, suspenseful, romantic, and had great characters and world-building. The book follows Violet and Dane. Violet was a prisoner until Dane claimed her. They fell in love but Dane chose to remain with the woman his family picked out for him to marry because she was a member of a pack that could be a great alliance. A pregnant Violet escapes and starts a new life with her son. That is until they are tracked down and found by Dane. Dane wants what he had with Violet before her escape, and is willing to keep her prisoner if it means keeping her close at all times, but Violet is desperate to escape and she's desperate to keep Dane from claiming his son. This book was excellent. I felt for Violet, she deserved better than she was giving. Now Dane, I started off hating his guts, but by the end, I found myself falling for him, especially when he told his betrothed to stfu when she would mistreat Violet, and when he told his mother to back off when she was mistreating Violet and trying to shove his betrothed down his throat! I can't wait to read more from Misha! I'm an instant fan! RATING: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟/🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
What a great book!!!! This book is a steamy romance with hot scenes that blew my mind!! I couldn't put this book down. The book storyline flows so easy. The characters are the fiercest I've ever read!! I've just started book 2 of this series. Give this book a chance by reading, enjoying, and thanking whatever you believe in that some of the characters aren't your relatives!!!!
I read it so fast. Could have done it in one sitting but with kids it’s super hard ! Haha but honestly this book , i love it . The whole possessive 🙂↔️ honestly the best!
