I loved the first two novellas. I could not put them down. The Secret Wish and Wish Upon a Wedding were both so good and I loved the characters so much. I was not a fan of When You Wish Upon a Quilt the writing was that of a young new author not very well written. I recommend the first two novellas.

This is the sweet homey small-town type romances you need in your life. All of these authors are wonderful in their own right - and all three put forward great stories here. I am not a crafter of any kind - so I felt like I learned a lot about quilting in this book! Quilting feels old-fashioned and homey - but these definitely show the history and tradition of it in a very modern way. My favorite story was definitely Jodi Thomas's story - but all of them were lovely!

I received this via NetGalley as an ARC - but these opinions are all my own.

The Wishing Quilt is a trio of cowboy and quilting romances
Ms. Thomas’ The Secret Wish is a lovely uplifting tale of second chances and true love. Avery Cleveland is a formerly world famous ballerina, now broke after a devastating injury. The only thing she has now is an inherited closed quilt shop in a small Texas town to make a life with. She finally feels like she’s found a home and a good man. It also contains some hot men and a bit of excitement.
Ms.Wilde brings Wish Upon A Quilt to the mix, a second chance for love. Dr, Ellie Winter returns to a grief camp she attended as a child for her sister’s wedding and meets her first and only love. He runs it as a dude ranch and the pair rekindle the flames at the planned quilting/bachlorette party.
Ms. Griffin’s When You Wish Upon A Quilt finishes the trio. Paige Holiday teaches quilting, traveling to quilt stores for a living. She dreams of designing the fabrics for the quilts herself, but lacks the confidence and connections to make her dreams come true. The appearance of a smokin’ hot cowboy may be the answer to more than one of her dreams.
If you like quilting and or cowboy romances don’t miss this one.
I requested and received a NetGalley ARC to peruse and give my opinion freely.

Loved all the stories. Avery Cleveland comes into Last Chance to her grandmothers old quilt shop. It's hers if she stays 1 year. Avery has lost her job and her savings and needs a place to stay. Daniel Solis the sheriff sees her the first night she arrives accuses her of B&E. Neither or looking for a relationship, but seem to be headed that way. Avery's been sleeping in the store at night and finds there is a nightly visitor that comes in a window and watches the coffee shop. Good suspense story.
Ellie's sister is getting married and instead of a bachelorette party is having a quilting bee instead. The localation of the venue is their former childhood grief camp. It seems that the man that now owns the ranch is Ellie's old boyfriend. Can they reconnect and find the love they lost.
Paige Holiday has really poor taste in men. She always picks the users. She is returning to Houston for the yearly quilting events. Last time she was here a man stole her heart and her designs. Can Paige learn to trust the cowboy staying at her hotel while helping his sister at the quilting expo?
All these stories are well written short easy reads.

THE SECRET WISH * Jodi Thomas

The little town of While-a-Way, Texas, may as well be named Last Chance as far as Avery Cleveland is concerned. Running her late great-grandmother’s quilt shop is the only way to build back her life after losing her dancing career. But local sheriff Daniel Solis is stunned by Avery’s beauty and spirit—and hopes to show her how to stitch brand-new dreams together . . .

Good starting over story. Avery was a professional ballerina until a bad fall ended her dance career. Broke and broken, her best hope is the quilt shop her great-grandmother left to her. If she can resurrect the shop and keep it going for a year, she can either stay or sell it and move on. I ached for her as she arrived in the tiny town with barely a penny to her name and ended up sleeping in the store. There was an awkward moment as she danced in the dark in the empty store only to have the sheriff arrive and accuse her of trespassing. I had to love Sheriff Dan, as he was bowled over by her grace, beauty, and spirit to the point of fumbling for words. It turns out that he's a bit shy but immediately smitten with her. Seeing how he did everything possible to make her want to stay was sweet.

I loved seeing how the townspeople welcomed her, and former customers offered to help her get set up and started. Their enthusiasm was balm to her soul, as were the little girls who wanted to learn how to dance. I loved how Avery combined the quilt shop with a dance studio. There is a delightful scene between the little ballerinas and the quilt ladies at the end.

There is also a bit of a mystery. Each night as she sleeps in the store, Avery witnesses a man in black come down the stairs, feed the cat and watch the coffee shop across the street before disappearing again. I was a little concerned about him, but I figured he couldn't be too bad if he fed the cat. I was intrigued by his story when he shared it with Avery and liked how she chose to help him. It certainly provided some unexpected excitement and an unintended boost to the romance between Avery and Dan. He was adorable in his drugged-up state, and his mom was hilarious. I'd love to see more stories involving the town.

WISH UPON A WEDDING * Lori Wilde

Ellie Winter’s sister is holding a quilting bee as her bachelorette party, creating a memory quilt for their grandmother. If only the event weren’t happening at the ranch where Ellie spent childhood summers, now owned by the man she can’t forget. Four days surely isn’t enough time to fall in love again . . . but what about four long, hot, summer nights?

Good second chance romance. Many years ago, Ellie and her sister attended a camp for teens dealing with the deaths of someone close to them. She became close with one of the boys who were also there. They fell in love during their last summer there, but Dalton broke things off at the end of the summer, calling what they had "a summer fling." Broken-hearted, Ellie accepted her college scholarship and hasn't seen him since then. She is now a rodeo doctor traveling around the country. That grief camp is now a wedding venue where her sister is getting married. Callie has chosen to do a quilting bee for her bachelorette party, making a memory quilt for their grandmother, recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's. The last thing Ellie expected was to discover that Dalton now owns the ranch.

I loved the first meeting between Ellie and Dalton. There's nothing like seeing your former love being tossed by a bull to make you realize you still have feelings for him. But Ellie is reluctant to pursue those feelings, not wanting to have her heart broken again. Dalton never stopped loving Ellie but can't see anything coming of it because their lives are so far apart. When the truth about their breakup comes out, Ellie realizes she has a choice to make. Does she give in to the fear or take a risk on love? And will their love give Dalton the courage to let go of his fears? I liked the resolution of their dilemma and seeing love win out.

I loved the memory quilt theme. Ellie's grandmother was a sweetheart, and her example went a long way toward helping Ellie.

WHEN YOU WISH UPON A QUILT * Patience Griffin

Paige Holiday’s last visit to the International Quilt Festival in Houston ended in heartbreak. It seems like all the women in her family are unlucky in love. So at this year’s festival, Paige is focused solely on business, until a gorgeous cowboy crosses her path, ready to turn her life—and her luck—around . . .

Good story. Alaskan Paige is worried about her trip to the Quilt Festival. During her last visit, she fell for a sweet-talking man who turned around and stole her quilt designs. This year she has new designs and a new resolve - no men, just business. But when she meets Holt, that resolve becomes hard to hold onto. Holt is in Houston to support his injured sister and is smitten with Paige as soon as he meets her. However, both have issues that may keep them apart. Paige has trouble trusting after the betrayal she suffered, while Holt's experience shows that long-distance relationships don't work.

I loved seeing Holt and Paige get to know each other. Paige is wary, but Holt's charm gets past her walls, and she falls for him. Holt's sister is overprotective of him and thinks she knows what's best for him, which throws a wrench into their developing relationship. I liked seeing Holt confront her on it and the change in her attitude toward Paige. But just when things look very good for Paige and Holt, he makes a bone-headed move that brings up old fears. I loved the quilt ladies who got to the bottom of the issue and brought Holt and Paige back together.

The Wishing Quilt, three novellas by Jodi Thomas, Lori Wilde, and Patience Griffin, had two things in common: cowboys and quilts. Each of the stories was a romance, which is what these ladies do best. Each was pretty much about strangers, well, one couple had been separated for 13 years so pretty much strangers. Thomas’ story, The Secret Wish, got a little wild with some shooting between law enforcement and some criminals, the rest of it was pure romance between ex-ballet dancer Avery Cleveland and Sheriff Daniel Solis. Avery had come to town to claim her inheritance: a closed up quilt shop and a house. She found the shop first and immediately saw its potential, then she met Daniel and immediately saw his potential. Wilde’s offering, Wish Upon a Wedding, told the story of Dr. Ellie Wilde, who had left 13 years ago for college and medical school. Now she was returning to Dusty Sagebrush Ranch for her sister’s wedding, only to discover it was now owned by Dalton Branch, the boyfriend who had broken her heart all those years ago. Griffin’s story, When You Wish Upon a Quilt, featured a woman who had trusted the wrong person and gotten ripped off. The result was that she no longer trusted men. The women in her family had a long tradition of choosing the wrong guy. She was no different. All three were wonderful examples of what makes these women best selling authors.

I normally do not go for these compendiums, preferring full-length novels, but couldn’t resist with these authors teaming up. It was not a mistake. These were three beautifully written, feel-good romances between men and women who had been hurt and opened themselves up to try again. They are character-driven novels, which they had to be to be romances, but the characters were all likable and interesting. No run-of-the-mill personalities here, but deserving of love and happiness. The were gently and kindly written and well worth the read if you love cowboy romance.

I was invited to read a free e-ARC of The Wishing Quilt by Zebra Books, through Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine. #Netgalley #ZebraBooks #JodiThomas #Lori Wilde #PatienceGriffin #TheWishingQuilt

The Wishing Quilt
Three quilt-based romance novellas

Easy to read romances with the theme of quilts in common though the stories are not connected. Quick little romances that included love at first sight, second chance romance, and a bit of a trust issue based romances.

THE SECRET WISH BY JODI THOMAS
My favorite of the three stories. Avery is down on her luck with much to overcome as she finally arrives at her great-grandmother’s abandoned quilt shop. With the goal of putting one foot in front of the other after shattered career dreams, she finds a safe haven, a loving man, and a bit of danger in a place that soon feels like home. I really liked Avery and Dan together and wouldn’t mind hearing more about “Cousin Mikey” in a future story.

WISH UPON A WEDDING BY LORI WILDE
Ellie and holt were one another’s first loves but what didn’t work out thirteen years ago becomes a second chance at getting it right at a quilting bachelorette weekend held for Ellie’s sister. This novella includes family, trust issues to overcome, and a happy ending for more than one couple in the story.

WHEN YOU WISH UPON A QUILT BY PATIENCE GRIFFIN
Paige comes from a string of women that seem to have a habit of falling for charming conmen rather than salt of the earth types. Paige has at least one such conniving scoundrel in her background so is not as trusting as she once was. I liked thinking about her job as a traveling quilter sharing her knowledge in workshops and seminars and was rooting for her to find her happily ever after.

The stories ranged from a 3-star to a 5-star rating for me so will round off to 4 stars for the collection. That said, I am sure that what I might have liked best might not be the same for every reader.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington-Zebra for the ARC – this is my honest review.

The Wishing Quilt is an entertaining anthology sure to appeal to fans of quilting and contemporary romance.

One of my favorite authors is Jodi Thomas and she was the perfect one to lead off the book. The Secret Wish is about a ballet dancer who is looking for a new start after an accident forced her into early retirement. She’s open to a new chapter in life but never saw the local sheriff playing a part in her life.

Wish Upon a Wedding by Lori Wilde is about a young doctor returning home for her sister’s wedding. She will be faced with her past and hopefully learn the truth and the why’s of what made her not want to return to her hometown for thirteen years.

Closing out the collection is When You Wish Upon a Quilt – Patience Griffin’s story of a textile professor attending a quilt show that leads to unexpected introductions and possibly, love.

It was an enjoyable anthology about people piecing together their next chapters in life. Recommended to fans of the anthology format (sometimes it’s the perfect way to read!) and the authors.

A wonderful anthology using a quilt theme.

Love, laughter, drama, and some sweet heat in all of the stories. I like all three authors and was happy to be able to read these short stories and how they blended in quilts and quilting in each book. A nice afternoon of reading.

Treat yourself to these love stories. Grab the drink of your choice, find a cozy spot, cover up with a quilt that you treasure, and immerse yourself in this anthology.

Small towns, cowboys, and hand-crafted quilts converge when three couples find their forever. From two of my favorites and one new-to-me author, these stories show us that heirloom quilts have a little magic, wisdom, and love for the next generation.

Sweet, wholesome and heartwarming, these novellas are great for when you don’t have a lot of reading time and the perfect way to introduce yourself to a new author or two. Enjoy your visit to Texas, where the small towns are welcoming, the townsfolk feel like family, and love is always better deep in the heart!

The Wishing Quilt is a lovely anthology written by Jodi Thomas, Patience Griffin and Lori Wilde. My favorite story in this anthology was The Secret Wish by Jodi Thomas. I liked the small town ambiance, yet the storyline was filled with lots of action and suspense. The main couple was so sweet together. I was very surprised when I found out who the stranger in the quilt shop was. I was thrilled with the surprise at the end of the story.

I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

The Wishing Quilt is a heartwarming collection that beautifully blends the history of quilting with the resilience of women and the steadfast love of cowboys. I loved all three stories—each one stitched together with strong values, deep emotion, and the timeless spirit of hope that quilts have always symbolized.

In “The Secret Wish”, I was drawn in by the sweetness of unexpected love and the simple truth that, “Sometimes the smallest stitches mend the biggest tears.” It set the perfect tone for the collection, reminding me how second chances can come in quiet, tender ways.

“Wish Upon a Wedding” carried the emotional weight of love and loss, showing how time can circle back to heal old wounds. The line, “Love never truly fades—it just waits for us to be ready again,” stayed with me long after I closed the story.

Finally, “When You Wish Upon a Quilt” tied everything together with its mix of cowboy strength and heartfelt devotion. One quote summed it up perfectly: “A cowboy’s promise is stitched as tightly as a quilter’s thread—meant to last a lifetime.”

This collection is as comforting as a handmade quilt itself—warm, thoughtful, and filled with love stories that remind us of what truly matters.

The Secret Wish by Jodi Thomas
I loved the simple love story that she wrote for this anthology. Avery has nowhere else to go so she ends up at her great-grandmother's building in While-a-Way, TX to start over. Her first night there she meets the sheriff and each are intrigued with each other. I loved how she made a connection. There is a bit of mystery, intrigue and suspense with romance built in and a bit of humor. how Dan's mother keeps catching them kissing one another was a hoot.

Wish Upon a Wedding by Lori Wilde
a second chance story for Ellie and Dalton. he lied about his feelings so that she would leave and go to college. 13 years later they meet again and old feelings come back to life and they find their way back to each other. holding a quilting bee for a bachelorette party was a cute idea. Ellie also had to learn to let go of her anger towards her father and Dalton before she could change course. Love the story.

When you Wish Upon a Quilt by Patience Griffin
A guarded individual needs to learn to trust again. I love how this story is part of the author's on life because she does this herself. Paige is a quilter on her way to the Houston Festival and meets a cute cowboy that tempts her. Holt drops everything to take his sister to the quilt show and figures to do a bit of Uber-ing to past the time. little did he know that he would be temped by Paige and her guardedness. a very cute story of learning to love and letting go.

each of these authors are favorites and it was good to have them all work quilting into a wonderful anthology. I thoroughly enjoyed and it ended way to quickly.

I’m going to start by thanking NetGalley and Kensington books for this gifted copy for my honest review. And boy is it honest.

The Wishing Quilt

First this book was NOTHING like I expected. I definitely didn’t realize that it was a compilation of multiple stories.

First story of the book was rushed. It felt like it dragged and then went rapid fire. The twist with the shooting was not what I expected so dramatically thrown in the story out of nowhere and then it was all magically fixed and they decided to get married after one date and some encounters in town and at the shop. Felt like the wishing quilt was randomly thrown in and didn’t make sense. It was also awkwardly sexual and the sexual comments came at weird times. 1.5/5 stars

The second story was not tied to the first one at all. The main character and her sister text in the beginning and they text so immaturely using “U” instead of “you” and “R” instead of “are”. That really turned me off. Seemed juvenile for a doctor to do. Kaddy was the saving Grace in this second story. She was witty and when she was talking to Ellie at the pre-wedding BBQ it had me laughing. The ending, well I have some thoughts. After Ellie professed her love and says “please tell me you feel the same” and he says he can’t and she runs off it is another oddly juvenile move. She’s a doctor not a teenage girl who runs away and doesn’t hear the guy out on why. If she hadn’t ran she would have heard in the next sentence why which obviously was that he loved her more… 2/5 stars

The third story
Though this one isn’t much better, it’s still better than the last two stories. As much as it has redeeming qualities like a better story line and more likable characters, the one thing I can’t unsee is Holt calling Paige when he’s thinking about her. Not to mention talking about the Wishing Quilt tote at least 15 times a chapter. One scene that weirded me out was when Holt was at the ranch talking to his sister when he talks about spanking his sister over his knee like their dad did for interfering in his love life.. just like any old third act misunderstanding break-up Paige doesn’t read the room and has a fit over thinking her designs were stolen again but doesn’t ask any questions and runs away only for it to not be that at all. I’m sorry but this book just felt way too far to be “country” or “Texan”. 2/5 stars

The Wishing Quilt is a collection of three stories by three outstanding authors. Admittedly I read it because I am such a fan of Jody Thomas. Jody has such a talent for building unique and special characters. I never can pinpoint what she does that just sucks me into the story and keeps me until the very last line. All three of the stories revolving around quilting. Even though I am not a quilter I enjoyed the stories of women trying to put their lives back together.
Avery comes home to run her late grandmother’s quilt shop after an injury causes her to lose her dancing career. Sheriff Dan is smitten with her; even if he doesn’t know what to do about it. Jody also throws a little mystery into the story.

Sexual content - kissing
Violence - someone gets shot

Wish Upon a Wedding by Lori Wilde is a second chance romance. He gave her up so she would go to college to be a doctor. Now 13 years later they meet again and the sparks are still there. Can they move on from the past?

I loved how her sister’s bachelorette party was a quilting party to make a memory quilt for the grandmother that was losing her memory. What a special idea.

Sex. One physical scene

I usually do not like stories of a misunderstanding. But I could totally relate and understand Paige’s concern about her designs being stolen and her being taken advantage of again.
Holt did nothing to deserve it but I understand her skepticism. Holt was a perfect gentleman and a hunky cowboy.
The quilting ladies were precious. They were looking out for Paige.

This was a sweet clean romance. Kissing only.

I received this book from Netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review.

I knew I wanted to read this when I saw that Jodi Thomas had a short story in it. While I enjoyed all three stories, my personal favorite was the story by Jodi Thomas. Reading about the quilts and quilting was so enjoyable. I grew up watching my mother making quilts, and have several of hers that I prize. She used embroidery floss to hold the layers together.

In The Secret Wish, ballerina Avery Cleveland has been forced to stop dancing due to an injury, and has come to the town of While-a-Way, Texas, to run or sell the quilting shop started by her great-grandmother. There is also some intrigue: who is the man who enters her shop after it closes and watches the streets? The sheriff suspects her of being an imposter at first, but that is soon cleared up - a good thing, as he also begins to want to know her better. This is a great story with romance, mystery and intrigue.

In Wish Upon a Wedding, quilting comes in when Ellie Winter's sister has planned a quilting bee for her bachelorette party. Ellie is not thrilled by the location - it is at a ranch owned by the man who she had been in love with years before. This couple had to overcome old misunderstandings to find their way back to each other.

The last story by Patience Griffin is about a woman whose job is quilting and teaching quilting. Paige Holiday is not excited to attend an annual quilt festival in Houston but she needs to promote her new designs. The last time she was there, she met a man who led her on and stole her designs. This time, she meets a man staying at her hotel who is with his sister who is also attending the festival - a genuinely nice man who persists in getting to know her.

I received a review copy of this book from Kensington Books (Zebra) via NetGalley. It was entirely my pleasure to read and review it.

The Wishing Quilt is a collection of three novellas by different authors. The selections all involve extended families that give the reader different histories of quilts. Quilting bees were a gathering of friends and family who all brought squares and material to the meeting. Members would sew and others would work the frame. Patterns present memorable happenings in life; wedding, a baby’s birth, a life that has passed. Today we still find women and men gathering to make the ornate patterned collections. Others head to quilting museums, sales and fundraisers.
These three stories bring duos back from their youth when they were star crossed, yet too young to carry on. Celebrations of marriage give reason to gather and make a quilt to give to the bride. In the last tale we find an Alaskan woman hoping to attend the Quilt Festival to perhaps sell some of her ideas for patterns. Alaska is a long way from Texas yet she traveled with hopes of learning new ideas from the local quilters.
The Wishing Quilt will be published on August 30, 2022 by Zebra Books of Kensington Publishing Corporation. I extend my gratitude to them for allowing me to read The Wishing Quilt via NetGalley. Jodi Thomas, Lori Wilde and Patience Griffin gave readers such delightful novels of love, family and knowledge of quilters extraordinary talents. In reading this I was reminded of my mother’s love for quilts. She did not create, just considered the beautiful coverlet as treasures. I have several she passed down to me. This is a lovely book - do enjoy!

4 Stars for 2 out of 3 well written short stories. Thomas always delivers and Griffin was new to me, but I liked her writing and may try a full length book. Both stories had a little drama woven in, with great characters and a happy ending. That is a large task to complete in only 100 pages and the “4” is for an enjoyable read

I read several of Wilde’s Christian fiction years ago and stopped reading her—as the books lacked human passions, attraction, desire, etc. In writing this secular short story all she concentrates on is the physical including a sex scene that felt forced into the story. It really felt juvenile. She can’t seem to find her niche.
Thomas and Griffin included passion—primarily kissing —without the need to go a little pornographic. I didn’t include Wilde in the scoring.

All three of these stories were published in 2022 for this anthology. Jodi Thomas, a long-time favorite, is the reason I chose this book. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with the writing of the other two authors. I've rated each story individually; then given an overall score.

THE SECRET WISH (Jodi Thomas) -- E
Ex-ballerina Avery Cleveland has been having a string of bad luck. After ending her ballerina career due to a traumatic fall, she's down to her last dollar and has arrived in While-a-Way, Texas, to look over her inheritance. But all is not as carefree as it seems. First, a sheriff keeps checking on Avery to ensure she's on the straight and narrow path. Then, a stranger feeds the cat in the old quilt shop while he watches what is going on in the diner across the street. And then, one morning, shots ring out. Great story.

WISH UPON A WEDDING (Lori Wilde) - G+
Dr. Ellie Winter's younger sister is getting married and decided to hold a bachelorette party at a dude ranch/wedding venue. They plan to create a memory quilt for Gram-Gram, diagnosed with Alzheimer's. The only problem is that this party is taking place at the same farm where Ellie and Camille spent so many wonderful summers. Dalton Brand, who made all those summers memorable, now owns the ranch. Has he changed?

This story was repetitive, but not in a good way. I was surprised because this author is nationally known and well-liked.

WHEN YOU WISH UPON A QUILT (Patience Griffin) -- VG
Houston's International Quilt Festival is the scene of this short story. Paige Holiday is unlucky in love and comes by this, honestly. Unfortunately, her mother and grandmother were also unfortunate in the love department. However, Paige is on her way to the Quilt Market (which takes place before the Quilt Festival). It's where quilters and shop owners learn about the newest techniques, fabrics, and tools coming to market. Then Paige meets a Texas cowboy at the Market, helping his injured sister.

For a book about quilts, there seems to be very little quilting going on. I picked this book to read because I've been a fan of Jennifer Chiaverini's Elm Creek Quilt books for some time and was hoping to read a few stories about quilting, but that's not this book. If you are looking for stories where characters spend a lot of time quilting, this is not the book for you. If you are looking for a book where the characters mention quilts briefly, but spend the rest of their time finding love, this is your book.
The first story in the collection was pretty interesting, but I felt completely blind-sided by where the plot ended up going! I thought I was going to read about someone starting their life over and instead got pulled into a cop chase about drugs. While it was a fun ride and I enjoyed it, the story seemed to veer off from what I thought it would be about into a crime drama.
The second story was the worst of the bunch. Maybe it's that I don't care for rodeos or cowboys, but this one just dragged and dragged. The characters weren't particularly memorable and when I thought the story was going to end as they walked off to a moonlight walk, it kept going and then there were pages and pages of foreplay and sex. And then more story! I was so happy when it finally ended after manufacturing a whole bunch more conflict between them.
All in all, I don't think I'd recommend this book. The stories don't have much to do with quilting at all except brief mentions and the writers didn't seem to really know what they wanted to write, a sexy romance, a story about starting over, or a crime drama. I'm happy to be done with this one, I'm now in a reading funk.

There are three stories in this book.
#1 The secret wish-Avery is a young woman down on her luck. She had been a professional ballerina and was injured from a fall from a stage that ended her career. Her great grandmother had willed to her a quilting store and home when she passed. Stipulated she needed to run the shop for one year to complete the inheritance. The store is much in need of repair. Sheriff Dan is a good love interest. Suspense from the shadow that visits the shop every night and feeds the stay cat. Lovely story and characters.
#2 Wish Upon a wedding-Dr. Ellie Winter returns to her hometown for her sister’s bridal quilting bee shower. The man she loved and lost from high school turns out to own the ranch the shower is to be held at. Her grandmother is newly diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and the quilt is being made for a memory quilt for her. Romance abounds. Very warm romance.
#3When you wish upon a quilt-Paige Holiday is a young woman from Alaska. She is a professional quilter with ambition to design her own fabrics. She comes from a family of women that are unlucky in love. Burned in romance by a man the year before she is shy to have any romantic attractions. She travels to Texas for a quilting marketing show to purchase fabric for her friends quilt store and to find a company to buy her design ideas. Enter a very attractive Cowboy that falls head over heels for her. His sister that wants to part of him hooking up with Paige and wonderful quilters that offer lots of emotional support. Very good quick read.

The Wishing Quilt is an anthology containing three stories. You cannot go wrong with any of the 3 authors in this book but put them all together and you have one fabulous novel. All are inspirational and entertaining.
The Secret Wish by Jodi Thomas - Down on her luck, Avery inherits her great-grandmother's quilt shop. She knows nothing about quilting, let alone running a store but she can learn. The local sheriff is smitten with Avery from the moment he laid eyes on her. He will do whatever it takes to convince Avery to make While-A-Way, Tx her home.
Wish Upon A Wedding by Lori Wilde - This is a second chance romance. Ellie throws an old-fashioned quilting bee as a bachelorette party for her sister. When she arrives at the ranch, Ellie-a rodeo doctor-watches in horror as a huge bull attacks the ranch owner. She runs to help him and discovers he the boy, now a man, that broke her heart 13 years ago. She has never stopped loving him. Will they be able to pick up where they left off?
When You Wish Upon A Quilt by Patience Griffen - This is a love at first sight story. The women in Paige's family have very little luck with men and Paige is not the trusting sort. However, there is something about the handsome cowboy that serves as her Uber driver and appears again at her Quilt Convention. Is he too good to be true?

Three different novellas, by three different authors, but all with a central theme of quilting. In each one, lives were changed in amazing ways, new outlooks and romances too.
The Secret Wish by Jodi Thomas finds a former professional ballerina finding a new purpose in her life and a little bit of mystery added to her current surroundings. Local sheriff Daniel Solis is taken by her beauty and her spirit and adds that love interest to the story.
Wish Upon a Wedding by Lori Wilde had an unusual bachelorette party theme with a sentimental idea within. Also a proven fact that you’re never too old to find love. My biggest complaint with this story was one scene that included non-imaginative sex. Too much descriptive detail for my liking but otherwise good characters that I enjoyed getting to know.
When You Wish Upon A Quilt by Patience Griffin was my favorite of the three. A very clean, heartwarming story that had some familial conflict, you know, the kind where one person thinks they know what’s best for another. This centered around an International Quilt Festival and I learned some things about quilts that I did not know. When you thought a romance could not possibly happen in this story because of distance and circumstances…think again. I’ve tried quilting but was never good at it. However, I do have quilts made by grandmothers and great grandmothers that I cherish.
A nice little passing of time for me and new friends to get to know.
I received a complimentary copy of this ebook but was not required to write a review positive or otherwise. All opinions are my own.

The Wishing Quilt is a delightful anthology with three stories that revolve around quilts and grandmothers. By accomplished authors Jodi Thomas, Lori Wilde, and Patience Griffin each wrote stories that I enjoyed. Being an anthology these are all novellas in length. The couple meet, have instant attraction, with no explicit bedroom scenes as such.

Ms. Thomas’ The Secret Wish is my favorite. This story has such a unique plot, with interesting main character along with supporting characters that I found easy to care about what happens to them. There is an element of mystery and suspense. Two thumbs up for that. 5 Stars

Wish Upon a Wedding by Lori Wilde is a second chance romance. This couple have a history but haven’t seen each other in over a decade. Feelings over the years have not changed but misconceptions must be overcome first. While it does have a bedroom scene it is not extremely explicit but is more than the other two stories in the anthology. 4 Stars

Patience Griffin is a newer author for me to read with When You Wish Upon a Quilt. Holt Champion and Paige Holiday meet at a quilt show and festival. It is two characters who have been tricked in the past but enjoy each other company. Along with other quilters, I was rooting for them to work through their issues. 4 Stars

An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
