I did enjoy this, a massive story with several volumes, which is great, something to get really lost in! The first volume I found really good, good pace & energy, lots of action & interesting moments, the second part I felt slowed down some what & had higher levels of angst than I usually like. The rest was again great, good action & adventure, just what you want from this type of story! A good fun read!

Endless Winter just seems to get better and better the more I read. I don’t want to stop reading I want the story to go on forever and ever. The world-building is just so amazing and scary but very entertaining. I didn’t have any problem picturing whatever I was reading. I can only imagine how they all felt with what they were experiencing. The cold I can’t even imagine how that must have felt.

Endless Winter is a very well-written story that will keep you hanging on for more page after page. The suspense will keep those pages turning. Endless Winter never left me for long even when I had to stop reading to take care of those pesky chores that never seemed to end day after day.

With the snow still coming down and no end in sight things start getting more dangerous for the group. The coldness, injuries, living without electricity, and no inside bathrooms start to stress everyone out and start to weigh on everyone which results in everyone getting more irritable and ill with each other.

Their journey is not exactly a safe one as they run into some very unruly folks who want to take or more like steal their belongings. They end up in more than one confrontation.

I could see them trying to walk in the snow. I could only imagine how hard it would be to walk in the snow. Can you imagine how deep the snow may be all the snow that has fallen since the endless winter began? I can’t sympathize with them on this as I have never had much experience with snow where I live. I certainly have not had to walk in it as I stayed inside.

Endless Winter, part two, is the continuing story of Fiona and her friends as they face the world's new ice age that was caused by man’s interference with nature. This novel’s main theme is the group trying to find a new home after the endless freezing temperatures start causing earthquakes in the area they had settled in. The whole group plus the goats and dog journey by foot, sled, barge, ice boat from Ohio to Vicksburg on the word of a friend that it is a good place only to discover cults and disease, but on the positive side the US Army is arrives as a peace force From there they move on to another location recommended to them and finally find a home after a fierce gun battle to defend it right after they arrive. They suffer loss and grief, love and happiness, and discovery of themselves along the way.

The book is looooong - a 14 hour read for me on a Kindle. Sometimes it gets a bit wordy. Especially towards the end I tended to skim a bit. It is still very worth the read!

Genre(s): apocalyptic, science fiction, survival
Bad Language: none
Intimate Scenes/Reference: very mild, some kissing and hand holding
Violence: mild, nothing gorey, usually quick and only when necessary
Substance Abuse: none, wine mentioned once as a treat
Mental Health: grief, depression, anxiety; nothing long term, just healing after events
Addiction: none.

Frozen World

Endless Winter is an excellent survival story, with a weather event that seems all-too possible according to today's headlines. The authors have skillfully written a sequel continuing the story of a small group of survivors. Together, they contend with the relentlessly frigid conditions, finding other survivors whose actions range from desperate to predatory.

The authors have portrayed them sensitively. Fiona was a favorite from the first book, but I have to say, my favorite characters are the goats, particularly the big, gnarly old Ramses, and Smoke, the dog. I admired the humans, but the animals stole the show many times.

Thank you to authors Riley Miller and Grace Hamilton, Relay Publishing, and Netgalley for the free advance readers’ copy of the book. I'm under no obligation to give a positive review, but I'm glad to do it! It was a terrific read.

It is part two of a three story book, it said you don’t have to read the first one, so that what I did, I started with this book, because it sounded interesting. The first thing I recognize was, that it would be better, if I read the first book, all this people running around and no idea who is who. The story itself was very dramatic, they found something good, than came some obstacles that took everything away again. It was very frustrating. You just wish for one win. I could have done without the political correctness with the two girls getting together, not because I mind, more like all this woke stuff just get on my nerves. All in all it was a good solid story with a lot of action, a bit love, some death, but definitely interesting.

What a mammoth undertaking! This one made me cry...twice. I'm impressed by the authors' vision for what might happen in the early years of a new Ice Age.

As in the first tome, however, some of the plot points felt a little awkward. A few others seemed a little too convenient. And some of the dialogue plodded at times. I'm also unsure if snow really behaves in some of the ways it does at certain points in the narrative. All the characters had squeaky-clean dialogue--which should be a breath of fresh air for readers who grow tired of "f-this, f-that and Viet-effing-nam," as it were, but when even the villains barely say "damn"...? And there were some holes in the worldbuilding. But still, it's generally impressive work.

Audio book reviewed.
Wow—what a brilliant, immersive story from two of the best post-apocalyptic thriller writers working today. Spanning nearly 56 hours, this epic delivers nonstop, edge-of-your-seat action, a desperate struggle for survival, and a powerful fight to preserve humanity on the brink of extinction.
The frozen world is brutal, the stakes are relentless, and the tension never lets up. You genuinely feel the cold, the fear, and the hope as the characters battle both the elements and what’s left of civilization. The big question remains throughout: will they endure… or will the ice claim them all?
Maxwell Zener’s narration is superb, dramatic, engaging, and perfectly matched to the tone of the story.
Highly recommended.

After reading the first book in this series, I anxiously awaited the second, hoping that it was as good as the first. I was not disappointed. I Love the author's style of writing. It is descriptive, well thought out, and has great character development. There is not a lot of unnecessary violence. It is a post-apocalyptic story that is not like most others. I am hoping that there will be a third book in this series.

Endless Winter: Part Two is a page turning read with an "it could really happen" storyline that caught my attention from the first page until the last. The writing is well done and the story has strong and well developed characters, intrigue, suspense, danger, and so much more. I love reading post-apocalyptic survival stories and these authors write the best. I can't wait to read the next book by this talented author duo. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Endless Winter, Book Two, continues the post apocalyptic ice age saga focusing on prepper Fiona, and Jarred and his daughter Hope as they take on a hazardous journey to find safety and a warmer climate. This well written book has realistic characters, some violence, and a visionary plot which provides a view of this environmental disaster in the presence of the breakdown of civilization.

Exciting Read

A book that you never want to end. This joined family exists through all the troubles and journeys South to escape the snow. All the challenges and trials are faced together. The losses along the way are hard but the family keeps going. Enjoyed the whole book and will continue to wonder how they continued to stay strong.

I've read a lot of books written by Grace Hamilton; she is one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books.

This is the second part in the Endless Winter Series; the story continues from the previous book and needs to be read in order.

How many times can a gun be dropped!

A good book has to be logical and believable. All the tragedies and dangerous challenges faced by this group was stupid and laughable. Sadly, this could have been a good book

Not a fan

Had to interject a lesbian relationship among teens - how edgy, NOT!
Became more and more boring the further I read. Next time, try to write a shorter story and a tad more interesting.

Loved this series. It grabbed me in the first chapter. Made me feel like all of these characters were alive. Will definitely share the series with friends and family. Thank you for a great story.

I really loved the first part, but it just got more and more tedious and unbelievable as it went on. And I get it, but I read A LOT of apocalyptic fiction - and this just didn’t do it for me.

These authors have a great mix of 'cozy' and peril during the apocalypse it works really well and keeps you engaged. I will always devour one of these books.

It does work better if you read book 1 first though.

Updated - audible

I started listening to this and then realised that I had to go back to book 1 to catch up on all the characters and their journey. So it was a full blown investment of over 50 hours but I am glad that I did it. This was different from the first one in terms of perils (glad that animals are mainly okay). I like how the female characters are empowered but what made this different is finally the male characters stepped up and seemed to get out of their comfort zone. The only disappointment that I had was I still don't know why the ice age occurred - is there a prequel planned? That would just give me a sense of completeness.

I really enjoyed this book. It was able to build on the great story put forth in the first installment of this series and built onto the characters in ways you didn't see coming. Along the way you'll root for the characters you've come to love to finally make it to some degree of safety.
