Evangeline Anderson is a registered MRI tech who would rather be writing. And yes, she is nerdy enough to have a bumper sticker that says “I’d rather be writing.” Honk if you see her! She is thirty-something and lives in Florida with a husband, a son, and two cats. She had been writing erotic fiction for her own gratification for a number of years before it occurred to her to try and get paid for it. To her delight, she found that it was actually possible to get money for having a dirty mind and she has been writing paranormal and Sci-fi erotica steadily ever since.

This was silly.
Dark fae were also homophopic and misogynystic. Fat shaming, age shaming, bodyhair is bad. Women not yet in her 50's doesn't have her period anymore? Sure..

Evangeline Anderson strikes again. How are all her stories literal bangers? I guess we'll never know.

But here's what we do know:
🕸️ Middle aged divorced and homeless mom
🕸️ Hot dommy half-orc Captain of the Guard + Pretty sub half-fairy Keeper of the Records = the Brawn and the Brain trying to keep their long-lost princess alive
🕸️ Shitty distant relatives plotting to secure a throne that doesn't really belong to them
🕸️ A great end to a shitty ex
🕸️ EA's CLASSIC move of "fuck or die"
🕸️ Cameo from book 1!!!

Anyway I didn't expect to see this book out but was very pleasantly surprised to see it on Kindle right after I decided to call off from work. Had to do a double take when I saw the author because Evangeline Anderson??? The greatest non-human smut writer of the modern era (and this is NOT exaggeration or cap 🧢) back at it again?? How could anyone say no??

10/10 would recommend.

Adios 🌊

I really loved this book from the new series The Shadow Fae. Lily's life before discovering she was a long lost princess was hard. She had put her needs on the back burner raising her stepchildren only to be turned out by their father after they were gone. She discovers the Shadow Fae while down to her last $5 and sleeping in her minivan. Both Half Breed Fae rescuers and now protectors Krynn and Seldarin make themselves her bodyguards to help her become the rightful Queen.

During this transition she encounters two villains conspiring together to take the throne. Along the way she gets so much more closer to her two protectors. The love story unfolds and I was hooked and couldn't put the book down. I had to know what would become of Lily.

I'm glad I read the first book in the series right before this one since there is a small tie to it. Fae Royalty got to stick together, am I right? ;-)

Spicy Level 🌶🌶🌶 .

This book is a great new read if you liked Evangeline's previous series The Kindred Bride series specifically Twin Kindred. I can't wait for the next books in this Fae world and possibly Lily's step daughter another changeling.

Simply wonderful second book in the series, characters are marvellous and scenario was riveting
This was a thoroughly enjoyable read and I loved the first book in this series and know that other readers will be as captivated by this as myself. Lily is a middle-aged woman that has been through a traumatic divorce and now is struggling to live in her minivan and eat.
Lily meets two men who change her life they are Sel and Krynn who have been searching for a long-lost princess, they have come almost to the very end of all of their possible locations when the inadvertently realise that they have actually discovered her.
She has no idea of her true inheritance and it takes the two men a very long time to convince her that she is a Royal Princess and that her family have been looking for her.
I loved the story it was filled with action and the characters and the Dark Elves are wanting her to return to them but I guarantee that yu will love every moment of this book it was a wonderful read.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.

Have you ever felt that you didn't belong where you are? that your family wasn't your own? that you just felt out of place and even reality? If so, then you may understand Lily. She grew up and married, but she became very unhappy. Just when her life hit the lowest point possible, she discovered the land of the Fae. Her entire existence turned around.
Sure, she met two guys who ended up being crazy about her, and she discovered she had a place...actually a palace. She also discovered she had enemies who were seriously trying to assassinate her.
The Queen of Midnight by Evangeline Anderson is the second book in the Shadow Fae. Although I didn't have to have read the first book in the series, I was so glad I did. In a powerful moment in the action, Lily meets one of the characters from the first novel. Although you didn't have to recognize her, it was fun for me to know who she was.
The Queen of Midnight has all of Ms. Anderson's trademarks. You will see angst, turmoil, and enough steamy scenes to glaze over all your mirrors! I completely enjoyed reading this one!

I love this story. I cannot wait for Amy's story to come next.
Lily is a middle-aged woman who has survived a horrible divorce. She cannot even afford to feed herself and has been living out of her minivan for months.
Two men she meets change everything for her. Sel and Krynn have been looking for the lost princess for a very long time. They have almost given up on find her when they meet Lily.
They have to convince her she is the long-lost princess, and take her to the Dark Elven realm as soon as possible.
I loved the action, adventure, and pure love of this story. I felt each character is important to this storyline. And the love just made me keep turning the pages. I do not want this world to end and am really excited for Amy's story. when you want a story to make you believe in true love this is the one to pick up

This story was amazing!
Lily went from a broke woman living in her van to a Princess then Queen!
How does THAT happen?!
She meets two gorgeous men who recognize her as a Princess , they care for her , protect her, heal her and grow to love her.
The evil in this story, both in the fairy world and human world try to take her down.
Thankfully those who try to destroy her meet their own fate in ways that are extremely satisfying.

This story has so many great supporting characters in it.
The characters are so very well written. I fell for Krynn and Sel. They were perfect guards, protectors and lovers for Lily. They showed her what being loved should feel and be like.

I cannot recommend this enough!

Lily has always felt out of place, being abandoned as a baby she had no idea where she came from.
After all her adult life as a doormat for her loser husband she is left with her vehicle and not much more.
She followed the lights and discovered the Fae, mortals don't see them so who was she really?
Her entire world is about to be turned upside down, she's been missing for 50 years.
She's royalty and had no clue, one night of fae food and magic she becomes her true self. Beautiful and much younger and powers yet to discover.
I always enjoy this author's writing and have fallen in love with her fae books. I hope she continues.
Angst and steam make up this author's writing and I love it.

Tales of the Fae, The Seelie and Unseelie Courts, are positively beautiful! I'm so glad Lily, Seldarin, and Krynn were able to meet and bond together. I loved how Lily "grew" into her power and was able to harness her full potential so quickly to save her men. Her terrible life experiences "had to occur" in order for her "ever after" to begin. I won't say "happily ever after" because those don't happen often, and it sounds like a jinx, but the characters will always be happy, as long as they are together.

Lily's situation is at a critical point when she stumbles upon her new life path of fulfilling her destiny as the lost Princess and rightful rules of the Dark Fae.
Beautiful world building that tells of life altering deception within a poignant love story between Lily, Seldarin and Krynn - two hunky Fae warriors devoted to serving and protecting their newly found soon to be Queen.
Loved this Romantasy with its descriptive scenery and that gorgeous royal purple!

I love stories like this. A older women that is given second take on life and love. Lily is newly divorced and boy did she get the worst possible end of it. The only good thing was that hopefully her terrible ex is out of her life. But when she thought things can’t get worse things go slightly insane. What else would you call finding out that magic and the fae exist? The story has plenty of danger and treachery but it also has second chance love and definitely some heat.

Loved It!

Creative, sexy and intriguing. I loved every aspect. It’s like several amazing romance tropes were all brought together into one fantastical story.

Threesome/Throuple/Managé, Fantasy, BDSM, Second Chances, and BBW/Plus Size.

It can’t get much better. Yet, somehow it does, because you get a complete HEA, with all the loose ends, tied up nicely, plus a tease for the possibilities of more.

Umm, yes please!!

Poor plot devices - all the ex Hubbys/bfs in her books are emotionally abusive, can’t satisfy the woman, thieves or liars. A lazy plot device because the Hero(s) then are so easily able to woo her.

It’s erotica but for gods sake.
Every.
Book.
STOP.
And the incredibly inevitable and irritating: “she had no idea just how bad things were going to get…”
At the end of a chapter.

Another Fabulous Read!

I love this series, and I'm disappointed that there are only two books at present.
However, I can honestly say that every book that I own and yet to buy written by this author has been wonderful. Evangeline Anderson has a very vivid and wide imagination that is nothing short of miraculous! You would not be making a mistake by purchasing her work. As she says, "Happy Reading!" XD

When the world is against you
With just two books the author has made this one of my favorite series. I love the strength in the ladies, how they overcome so much adversity and hate to reach their full potential, and I love the guys that are strong enough to always have their backs. The characters in this book seem to make taking one on the cheek an art form. They have mastered the silent work around to buck the wishes of their oppressors and reach their goals anyway. The author returned us to the land of fae with three new characters to rally behind and evil doers who need to get what’s coming to them. I love the way they make their way to each other as they forge their own path, healing those around them. I especially enjoyed the little hint of more to come and I can only hope the story comes to fruition. Until then, I will enjoy going back and starting over again with the story that began it all.

Overall entertaining and cute with a few instances of TSTL mixed in. Prepare though to be outranged on the FMC's behalf.

However, that epilogue??? After everything the MCs have been through, how can they take someone else's life-changing option away via lying by omission? Makes sense to set up next installment, but IMHO completely out of character for the MCs.

Spider Web

This story will make any over 50 women very happy (and a bit jealous). I appreciate that they created a separate Fae kingdom for Lily to take over, though there was a bit of story overlap with the first that I appreciated. I do hope Amy gets a story. Very sexy and enjoyable.

I COULD NOT PUT THIS DOWN! It was intriguing, it was naughty, it was ridiculously clever, it was wildly imaginative (I need all the food!), and it was absolutely dirty. I love that for once the bad guys really really get their due.

Can’t wait for the next. 🫶

Ever read a book where some characters are so finely described that you cheer when they become unalive, or rejoice when they succeed? I totally enjoyed this story which followed Throne of Shadows and meshed perfectly...now I need Amy's story! And what happens to one i wanted to unalive?????

Loving this fae world
If you like Evangeline Anderson, you’re going to love her Fae series. It is all fresh and independent of her other popular series. Still has the spicy romance but new characters. New world building! Highly entertaining.
