He loves her, and she loves him. That should be enough, right? Unfortunately, not everyone is in agreement with their union. And whoever said, “Be careful who you trust, for snakes never shed their deceptive ways.”—Had this couple in mind.

This is strictly for lovers who understand forgiving someone with a pure heart because they know sometimes love is not without its challenges. Anger doesn’t always have to be rooted next to betrayal.

This book was a lot to unpack so here it goes! He imprinted on her from the very beginning! That’s all fine and good! He was trying to protect her that’s fine too! But he had me messed up! And she a good one because ain’t no way! She is pretty much a saint in my eyes! Because she never did anything or anyone wrong! She was always on the receiving end! From her parents down. She was surrounded by snakes! And instead of opening her eyes to it! What did he do he tried to block it! And look how well that worked out for them! Karma is a real witch and you can only out run it for so long! This book was crazy!

I had the opportunity to read this during a live reading sprint event with the author present. I thought I knew how the story was going to unfold but I was definitely wrong with that assumption. The twists definitely made my jaw drop. This is one of those stories that you will surely need to check your triggers for if you could potentially have any.

Although I was a little upset with the actions of the FMC and how quickly she fell right back in with the MMC with minimal pushback, it still made a great story. Of the three original friends/mothers in the beginning of the story, 2 out of 3 of them were HORRIBLE. They were absolutely unfit to be parents. I felt sorry for their children...even after they reached adulthood.

Some of the characters were the worst kind of greedy and self serving. The amount of irreparable
damage they caused was heartbreaking. This story took me through a range of emotions and I couldn't put it down.

From beginning to end I was intrigued. The plot was refreshingly different. Goat’s affection for Lemon was clear from day 1 the snakes 🐍 in their grass almost defeated them!
