LOCKER 33 is a short story (10,000+ words) that was written as a leaving gift for my Year 8 Middle School pupils. My pupils wanted to dedicate this story to their friend, Douglas, who lost his battle with brain cancer, and asked if I would sell it to raise funds for two of the charities that supported him. All profits will go to support other children with terminal illnesses and will be given to The Helen and Douglas House, Wokingham and to REACT.
Although I have written it with the 11-13 year old independent reader in mind, I have also structured it into short chapters so that teachers could, if they were so inclined, read it in tutor times throughout a term.
So, here it is ... a short story about friendship. It tells the story of Noah who, with an unlikely ally, has to find his friends when they go missing and uncover the secrets of LOCKER 33.
