Embracing life, love and choices
I loved, loved, loved this book and these characters. Falcon and Bella just crawled right into my chest with their big hearts and their deep emotions and made themselves at home. I think they might live there now. They are such real, relatable people that it felt like they could just walk right out of the book. They both have flaws and scars, but are just trying to do their best as messy humans trying to protect themselves and the people they love. This is an emotional and heartwarming story about past pain, life choices, rebuilding, self-rescuing, and choosing to find joy in living. Both Falcon and Bella are such bruised and battered souls and their story included a lot of facing truths and past pain with only a bit of angst. It is brutally beautiful and has the perfect blend of sweet, spicy, sorrowful, and uplifting with a little bit of danger thrown in. Falcon has lived in a world of darkness, revenge and isolation. When the quest that consumed him for 20 years finally ends, he decides to finally settle down on the Hart ranch and go after Bella, the woman who has had his heart for a decade. Bella is a billionaire who had a traumatic childhood and has a large loving found family in Oregon where she works as the chef on the Hart family dude ranch. She is light, love, and laughter but feels she needs to find her purpose and that is not with a man on the Hart ranch. Despite their feelings, their lives do not seem to be compatible. However, when Bella is threatened, Falcon agrees to be her 24/7 bodyguard. The journey to their HEA was a deep, twisty, winding emotional path but so beautiful to experience with them. As always with this author, the story was well written and included engaging dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and a captivating storyline. I loved, loved this heart warming, swoony love story and the Harts’ beautiful cobbled together found family and I cannot wait to read the next of the Harts’ stories.
