Sweet Dreams #2

Some Call It Temptation

Rate this book
Some temptations are too hard to resist.

After fleeing her controlling family, Stella is ready to experience life to the fullest—starting with moving to a city that has more than one traffic light. Too bad she’s broke and living on her friend’s couch.

At least she has a job. If only temporary. Now she just has to keep her head down and save up enough to leave. But the one thing she didn’t count on was Mason Drake.

Forced to move in with the man who stars in her every fantasy, Stella knows she can never give in to the temptation that is Mason.

Not only because he thinks of her as nothing but a spoiled brat, but because she needs her job. And he’s her boss.

I love the written word in all forms and shapes and if I'm not glued to a book I'm attempting to write one.

I’m a frequent blonde moment sufferer and still trying to figure out how to adult. I live in Melbourne, Australia, with my two little humans, the holder of my heart and two furry demons. I love to hear from readers so feel free to get in touch.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series but this one made me gnaw my teeth! First: it is written very well. You get sucked in and I liked the bickering between Stella and Mason!

Second: I can't believe the storyline. Stella is such a pushover and how her mother just makes decisions for her? The contract, the way it all played out. Sorry, that was too soapy and too unbelievable.

Stella has managed to escape her oppressive family and is determined to be independent and live the life she wants. She can’t afford to lose her job at the garage even if that means trying to be nice to her irritable boss and denying the attraction between them.

Mason believes that Stella’s foray to regular life is only temporary and that she will return to the privileged life she was living. When he realizes it wasn’t as perfect as he believed he is determined to protect her, but misunderstandings may destroy everything.

Both Stella and Mason are included to act first and regret later which causes some turmoil until they realize that together they can overcome anyone who tries to stand in their way. I enjoyed the performance of the narrator as she brought the humor, emotion and romance of the story and characters to life.

This book made me giggle idk what it was but I read like a fan fic which isn’t a bad thing until the part where it felt a little rushed the beginning was really good and I wanted more but as soon as it got good it was already over but I still enjoyed my time

I was in the mood for something sweet to read, a step away from the thrillers and mysteries that have been dominating my reading list this year so far. I enjoyed the first book in this series as it had a few laughs and the writing was easy to read, so I remembered that I had the rest of the series and moved on to Book 2. Some Call it Temptation introduces us to Willa's friend Stella. The book starts as a grumpy/sunshine read as Stella is Ms. Sunshine and Mason is Mr. Grumpy. In the first few chapters, you can see the hate towards Stella pouring off Mason. Things start to change though, when Mason discovers Stella's secret about her mother and her family. I have to admit, this next bit frustrated the hell out of me as yes Stella's mum blackmailed her to do her bidding. But if Stella had just talked to Mason and her friends about what was happening, they would have come up with a solution that would have saved so many problems from friendship break-ups, fake engagements, contracts and her whole life being taken away. Of course, the book had its happy ending which made you realize that the whole in-between had to begin - otherwise, this book would have only been a quarter of the size :P. If you need a light romance to read and one that has a tiny kick but is mostly a read you don't have to think too much about, then Some Call It Temptation by Sarah Peis is the read for you.

Ohhhh another good one!

This series is definitely addictive.

Stella is filling in at Drakes Garage while her BFF is out of the country with hot as sin Jameson. But it’s not going as well as it could. Mainly because of Mason. Mason has been mean to her since she walked into the door. Rich princess 👑 he says....

Her life is anything but perfect. She has been a prisoner all her life. That is why she is currently resident of her BFF’s couch. She is never going home. No matter how her mother begs. But life just gets worse and her mother will stop at nothing to make her come home. Will someone help her before she becomes a mindless puppet?

I loved this story. Mason’s protective side comes out and we get a glimpse of the man behind the tough guy exterior. Stella is sweet and innocent. Her mother is evil incarnate. Stella deserves happiness and so much more.

Overall this book is fun and sad at the same time. It just goes to show you that you can’t judge a person by their exterior. This book along with the others in the series are full of fun loving characters. All of which are one big, huge, loving family of misfits. The book pulls at your heartstrings, while also putting you on the edge of your seat. I cannot wait to read what’s next.

Some Call It Temptation is the second book in the Sweet Dreams series by Sarah Peis. It's 230 pages of fun, romance, with a bit of family drama mixed in. I love discovering new authors! This was my first book by Sarah Peis, but it won't be my last.

Some Call It Temptation is the story of Mason and Stella. Stella is a young woman raised in wealth and privilege. Mason is the broody owner of a garage where Stella is working. Even with all the brooding Stella, has a little crush on Mason, but Mason only sees Stella as a privileged princess. Or does he? I loved this book. It's sweet, funny, and romantic. The dialogue flowed easily, and the characters are loveable, except Stella's mom. She's a straight-up heifer!

If you're in the mood for an easy read full of fun characters, humorous banter, and a bit of family drama, you need to give this book a read. It's also out on Audiobook and narrated by Ramona Master, whom I think does a great job. I love an audiobook so that I can listen in my car. I wholeheartedly give this book two thumbs up and five stars.

P.S. Check out the other books in this series. Some Call It Love, Some Call It Temptation, Some Call It Fate, Some Call It Devotion, and Worship – a novella. They're all on my TBR list!

Ramona Masters did an amazing job bringing this story to life. This story is told solely from Stella's POV, but Ramona did a great job with the male voices throughout this audiobook.

Her voice is very clear and expressive. I look forward to listening to more books narrated by Ramona in the future!

Book Review:

Stella was filling in for her best friend as a receptionist at Drake's garage while traveling with one of the owner's Jamison. Unfortunately, she was stuck with the other brother, Mason.

He seemed to be under the misconception that because she came from a rich home that she felt entitled. She was only trying to escape her mother's control.

I loved this story! It is very well written and the characters are not only fully developed they are hilarious. This book is action-packed and I listened to this audiobook straight through to the end. It is steamy hot and full of angst!

Highly recommend this audio and look forward to more by Sarah Peis!

Another great one! This book sucked me in right away. I loved the complexities of Stella's real life vs the expectations placed on her. This book was more angsty than the others I've read so far but I enjoyed every minute of it (who doesn't love some drama). And Mason! Oh boy, Mason. Tough guy exterior. Amazing, protective, loving man on the inside. Mason was everything I wanted in a leading male character and more. This book tugs at the heartstrings but still held the fun, light nature I've come to expect from this series. I think I say this every review for every book in this series but wow! I wanna be a part of a big family of misfit friends like this series. Can't wait to read the last on my list, the first in the series and see where/ how it all started.

Audio review 🎧

This is Stella's story, with her potential beau, Mason, broth to Jameson. There was fun to be had with Stella's attempts to wrestle the organisation of Drake's motors under her control, while trying to fend off her horrible mother. The hot/cold to and fro between Stella and Mason is fine, but it does become a bit trying. I also found Stella's relationship with her mother too far out there. In saying that, Ramona Masters is a fabulous narrator and succeeds in bringing the story to life. 💖💖💖💖

Such a disappointment 😞 I read Willa story and fell for her charm, so I wanted to know her girlfriends stories....this one had a ridiculous plot, a headless chicken running around had more coordination...terrible carachters and boring sub plots....a waste of my time, I don't feel like reading Maisie's story, sounds as bad as this one.

Stella's story was surprising! No spoilers here though. While there are many hysterical moments throughout the book, Ms. Peis did an excellent job of telling Stella's painful story. I love the characters in this series and the way this Author paints life in Humptulips!

Stella and Mason's story was a good read, however I wanted to throttle Stella quite a few times during this book. She tends to flight instead of fight which was her downfall. Overall a good read and happy to continue to read the rest of the series.

so good!

Mason and Estella are entertaining, intense and delightful. I did not feel the depth of their connection the way I did with Willa and Jameson but I still enjoyed their story.

Love this series

The 2nd book was almost as good as the first book. I connected more with Willa than Stella. I can't wait to read Maisie's story. I'm sure it will be just as entertaining as the other 2.

I enjoyed this book so much. The dialog was witty, although the characters took their sweet time getting on each other's nerves before finally deciding to jump in. Lol

Stella was temping as an admin at an auto body shop. It was an okay place to work and she needed the money for sure, but sometimes that one mechanic, Mason, can get on her last nerve.

The writing was witty, and I enjoyed the bickering between Stella and Mason. The pace can be a little slow at times and there were a few too many characters for my liking, but the story was, overall, pretty good.

A cute 2nd installment

Stella and Mason come together in this series 2nd installment in this series.
Honestly, I was wondering midway through the book why they didn't just do what they did at the end, to solve Stella's parent problem.
We didn't hear much of Clay in this book, so I am waiting to see if Landon or Clay end up with Nora, or if we end up seeing Rayna matched up, too?

Super cute

Incorporates characters from the first book in the series but I guess this could technically be read as a stand-alone, though you might be a bit confused towards the end.
Love that we got to hear more about Willa and Jameson.
Gotta love a good HEA!

Another fun read in the Sweet Dreams series. This is Stella and Mason's story; both played side characters in book 1. I loved narrator Ramona Master; She did a great job performing and giving each character a distinct voice. I enjoyed her kid voice too!
