Rate this book
Will the billionaire be able to convince her that they’re meant to be?

When talented dressmaker Maisie Slater discovers her fiancée in bed with not one, but two other women, she sets her dreams of a happily-ever-after and her cheating ex’s clothes on fire.

And what better way to kick off her new life than hooking up with a handsome stranger? But no matter how much she promises herself they can keep things casual, she can’t deny their connection that only seems to grow stronger the more time they spend together.

Oliver Thorpe always gets what he wants. He might be the heir to a business empire, but he doesn’t shy away from hard work. When he meets Maisie, he knows he wants to spend the rest of his life with her. Even if she doesn’t agree.

But when fate throws them an unexpected curveball, he knows it’s his chance to bind Maisie to him forever.

But Oliver has secrets that are catching up to him. And once Maisie finds out, he’s in for the biggest fight of his life. Good thing he never loses.

I love the written word in all forms and shapes and if I'm not glued to a book I'm attempting to write one.

I’m a frequent blonde moment sufferer and still trying to figure out how to adult. I live in Melbourne, Australia, with my two little humans, the holder of my heart and two furry demons. I love to hear from readers so feel free to get in touch.

Not bad. 4.5

I like the characters of this series. The townfolk are great too. The story was cute and had some really funny parts. Just an fyi you must read Kismet before you read to this book to get the whole experience with Maise and Oliver.

I first heard Avery Caris narrating in the novella KISMET, which is the prequel to Maisie and Oliver's story. I really love her upbeat and expressive delivery. She definitely brought Maisie to life! Both of these books are told from Maisie's POV, but Avery's transition into the male voice of Oliver is spectacular. Highly recommend Avery Caris as a narrator!

We start Maisie and Oliver's relationship in the novella KISMET and after their hilarious first meeting things get smoking hot. But, Maisie doesn't want a relationship. Been there...done that and it didn't leave her with any positive feelings on anything past a one-night stand. Oliver, however, is determined to change her mind.

Except Oliver is keeping a major heartbreaking secret.

This is the continued story of Maisie and Oliver from Kismet and although it is a stand-alone book, I would suggest you listen to Kismet before reading Some Call It Fate. You can find Kismet as an audiobook in Google Play.

I loved Maisie and Oliver's story. Maisie runs so hard I'm surprised she didn't leave skid marks especially when she puts down the brakes and tells Oliver to get lost when she finds out what he's been keeping from her.

This book is hilarious, steamy hot and has a few unexpected twists thrown in. Highly enjoyable book that I highly recommend!

Ah finally Maisie and Oliver! Since I've somehow started reading the series in reverse I have been very interested in how exactly Maisie and Oliver's relationship came to be. I LOVE their story. Just enough twists and turns and the perfect balance of fun, love, and angst. Maisie was relatable and I was rooting for her the entire time. And Oliver! Oh, wonderful Oliver. There were some moments I was like oh no boy, what are you doing but of course everything worked it's way out perfectly. Oliver was the perfect match for Maisie and is great example of a proactive and intuitive partner. I need to find me an Oliver haha! Also, I love the way this series weaves all the characters together! I feel like I am right in Humptulips with the group. I'd love to be friends with this cast of characters for sure!!

Fun loving series

Yay! We finally get to find out what is going on between Masie and Oliver! And what a hoot it is....

Masie is avoiding love. After her ex cheated on her and still goes out of his way to irritate her, she has lost trust in men. Therefore no more beliefs in happy endings or soul mates. But never underestimate fate. She is a witch and will get her way....

Wow! This fun read had me in stitches. I laughed so hard at Masies tactics. She did everything to avoid Oliver, yet she had a hard time staying away. The attraction between these two is so strong. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is a fun loving read full of antics and craziness.

This series is fun to read and has the most amazing characters. I can’t wait to read what’s next.

Audio review 🎧

Another romance in this quaint town, between the main group of women and their respective love interests Here we have Maisie, who, initially, is trying to resist the charms of Oliver. Avery Caris is a certain good narrator and makes a great job of telling this story. I did find nany of Maisie's thoughts somewhat irritating, along with her inability to see the obvious, but, overall, I was involved enough to want to know the fates of Maisie, Oliver, Stella and Mason. 💖💖💖💖

Another win in this series! No spoilers here though. And another steamy but sweet and interesting story. At first I wasn't sure about Oliver, when he was introduced into the series, but this book made me see him in a different light and getting his full story was definitely a plus. As always, the 3 ladies who star in these first books are hysterical and unpredictable. Always a plus!

This was not my favorite of the series, idk it never really clicked for me maybe because I thought Willa and Stella were more likable but I did really like Oliver and the dynamics between the friends!

I am curious about the next book in the series so hopefully that will turn out better than this one for me :)

So many different things I want to know....

I am really enjoying this series, and every book tells a story that interweaves so well with existing installments. I am keen to know if Oliver's parents and Lana cause extra drama? What happened to Clay? What about Nora? And Landon?

The main FMC & MMC annoyed me at first, the MMC more so. But they both grew on me & they were hilarious. By the end of the book, I was happy squealing before even hearing that the characters were doing so apparently at the same time I did. Loved it!!

some Call it Fate

Maisie has been an engaging character since book 1 (Willa’s story.)
Although Maisie was in love with Oliver and he claimed the same, the author didn’t give me enough background to understand why they were in love. It just felt like a lot of chemistry.

Masie & Oliver's story. Masie has been avoiding relationships until Oliver came into the picture. I am enjoying this series, something light and funny and a nice break from all the darker reads.

I love this instalment of the Some Call It series! Maisie is the fashion-forward cool gal I wish I was and I just love how this story unfolds.

It’s the perfect cosy read on a wet Sunday afternoon.
