Ellis has been sold short by her family all her life, living in the shadows. That didn’t stop our favorite Drow from finding her own path, even when it led straight into danger on the dark streets of the city of angels

It started out so simple, watching over the night dwellers in the big city, including her misguided brother. But the mystery deepened around her family’s tangled web in the drug business, pulling in Ellis.

Then she found at least some of the answers about her missing mother. Were the two things tangled together? Seems like no one wanted to deal straight with Ellis.

Here’s a really good tip. Never double-cross a Drow, especially one as clever as Ellis. Now, there are a lot of Russian gangsters who are doing their best to learn that the hard way.

Fortunately, Ellis still has friends in all the right places who are willing to lend a hand with a few new magical tricks. Will they be enough to stop the city’s version of a really big bang? Will Ellis get everyone to safety or was she just the bait for a more dangerous plot?

To find out, scroll up and buy Drow Rising today and learn more about the adventures of Ellis the half-Drow who guards the night.

Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore but I was born under a wandering star and have lived in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.

I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.

There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.

Thank you for checking out my stories!

Ellis has found her mother and saved her family and friends, but she is still looking for answers. Now a gang of Russian mobsters are causing problems and, frankly, they don’t know what they are up against. Ellis is determined, clever and has plenty of friends and allies who have her back.

I like Ellis, but our gal still tries to tackle problems on her own. For example, she is having some serious issues with the Shadow formula a fellow Drow created for her. Don’t get me started about lack of backup or plans. Despite that, she is a worthy adversary who fights for the greater good.

The danger is a deadly virus and when Charlie is infected, Ellis will do anything to save him and the city. The story offered a fast-paced tale with plenty of dangerous moments that kept me listening. Stephanie Savannah narrates and does a fantastic job giving voice to Ellis and her posse. Like most urban fantasy, I recommend listening to the series in the order of its release.

We see some development in the relationship department and some threads have me excited about Drow Nightfall, the next audiobook in this eight book series.

When Ellis is given the job of babysitting a Russian Playboy, she tries to refuse, but Senator Chan, who has the power to take back all that she'd promised the Drow, after the DCI had caused them so much grief, including the Outpost, persuades her that it wouldn't take much to do.

Unfortunately, although Mikhail Klimova has become a more sober man, forgoing drink and drugs, he still liked to live life to the full, and got Ellis to go with him, to pick up a motorbike that his mother, Marusva Klimova, had shipped to the US, as part of a talk she was giving at an Eco Conference, that the best, and highest, people from around the World were going to attend, in Los Angeles.

As usual, when Ellis is involved in things, anything can happen, and an attempted kidnapping, theft of the special bike, and the beginnings of an all out war, by Marusva, are just a few of the things that Ellis has to deal with - along with asking Detective Charlie Morrissey for his reluctant help, once again!

But, when everything takes a very dark turn, it will be up to Ellis, and her friends, including Percy, and his bird friends - foremost, it being a Pigeon, called Wormy, and an Albatross, called Mariner, to do everything they can, to save the World!

I really loved this book. The plotline was gloriously madcap, with times of seriousness, that became deadly familiar. But, over everything, is Ellis, doing her very best to keep her Drow family, and her Human family, from suffering a mass extinction.

Ellis is having to deal with many problems, but I feel for her, with all she's having to go through, with her Shadow Magic, which sounds, frankly, awful!

I absolutely loved the way that this part of her story ended, and am going to go straight onto Book Six: 'Drow Nightfall', to see where it's going to head out to because, wherever Ellis goes, trouble isn't far behind her! Lol

So, once I've finished reading this book, I'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know what I think, of where the next episode of Ellis, and now Charlie's, adventures take them!

Good installment to the series. These are not standalone books. You need to start at Book 1 or you really won't understand the majority of this book. Ellis (FMC) is once again trying to single handedly solve all the problems. Despite the fact she has a whole team with her, she routinely either loses or leaves them behind. Plenty of action to follow, though her personal fight with the shadow formula is pretty hard to understand. She doesn't want to admit she is in excruciating pain because the "doctor" has some distractions? It's things like that which make this frustrating at times. The ending with Charlie is pretty surprising given where the relationship has been (or not) in the last 2 books. It will be interesting to see what happens with the virus, the bad guy/woman, and her friends.

Wow!

Okay, so The Chronicles of Shadow Bourne just continues to get better with each book in this enjoyable series.

There's always a baddy, or baddies, in all stories, and this was no different.

I'm just holding that the main baddie from this book is caught and brought to justice, even though I can see how her fridge led finger actions.

Now for book six.

As usual, Ellis and Charlie shenan-AGAIN...I don't understand how they haven't managed to get themselves killed yet but it is a good rollercoaster ride until the end. Looking forward to more shenanigans from these two.

Another must read.

Martha is alwalso good for a finely crafted tale and this is no exception. International intrigue combined with local and Drow politics keeps the tale spinning.

Great story

I have enjoyed this fun action pack adventure of a young half Drow half human as she find her place in this world.
