The Fool

Rate this book
Adam is a fairly normal temporary office worker in early 2000s London: drinks a bit too much, smokes a bit too much, obsessed with the occult a bit too much. Loved this book.. I started and finished it in super quick time because it was very enjoyable.. I related to it massively because the story is London based and I have had similar life experiences as the author. Definitely worth a read.

Enjoyed this book quite a lot, especially in terms of style (you quickly get used to it) and the dry humour of the protagonist. It does start and end a bit abruptly, and the plot is a bit confusing, but that's obviously a conscious choice and works as a whole. It's a well-written window in the haphazard life of a rather aimless young man with esoteric interests and some of the usual, self-destructive habits. It's not something I can directly relate to, but I'm pretty sure I know people like him...
