A mysterious old journal promising liberty… A former commander hellbent on vengeance… A politician desperate to hold onto power.

One month ago Eli Miller risked everything to track down a dangerous fugitive in the labyrinth of tunnels which surround his home but failed.

While the Mayor deals with the fallout he has tasked Eli and his team with interrogating those suspected in a conspiracy to return to the surface - the very location the journal points to for salvation.

When old friends return with a dire warning Eli must once again put his own plans aside to protect the citizens of Lincoln. He soon realises that former Commander Zapata will do anything to protect the truth. Even if it dooms the lives of everyone Eli holds dear.

The ultimate fight for freedom begins.

I went into End Watch not really knowing what to expect, but the premise caught my attention right away. The idea of people living underground while rumors about the surface and a mysterious journal start circulating makes for a really interesting setup.

Eli Miller stood out to me as a character who’s constantly pulled between duty and personal choices. You can feel the pressure he’s under trying to protect the citizens of Lincoln while dealing with secrets and people who clearly have their own agendas.

I also liked the darker atmosphere of the tunnels and the sense that something bigger is going on behind the scenes. The tension between Eli and Zapata especially adds a lot of suspense.

Overall it’s a solid dystopian sci-fi story with plenty of mystery and political tension. Definitely curious to see where the series goes from here.

Gnats and Echoes in a race to solve the mystery in the Old World

The team of Watchers raced on the surface of the Earth to solve the riddle "Where the ripper walks on the bones of Etruscans. The dome of the bird can be seen. Two cities rest under. Heed them." Their search leads them to old London, to the resting places of ancient heroes, hoping to find clues to solve the puzzle. It was a race as the Echo team chased the same clues.
Magnificent characters caught in a turbulent storyline race to find their goal in the ruins of the ancient world. Exciting action in battles and skirmishes bans sleep in nights lit by the fires of combat. This is a great read!

Cranked up several notches

Really enjoyed this second outing in this new, thrilling series. The first book wowed me for being so different in the setting and world building. I'd grown tired of this genre because of all the sameness. (Ex military guy saves America) but the author here has imagined a frightening future. I was hoping we'd get to see the surface and we do. Loved the London scenes and I'm excited to see what happens next.
If you are craving something different and with a plot with more meat on the bone I highly recommend this series.

Wow ! What a fantastic 2nd book. Fugitives continues to be exciting as the intrigue and mystery ramps up and the intense and violent fighting scenes has you continually on the edge of your seat. A very strong storyline with many different lands and creatures has you riveted from start to finish. I'm hooked can't wait for the next book.
