Rate this book
She was given a special to help her boss decompress…
They said by whatever means necessary, but no one expected twins nine months later!

Ashley Raven has a full plate. A loyal assistant to her billionaire boss, she’s caught in a quandary when she’s handed a special assignment that will entail betraying his trust.

Never one to turn down a challenge, she agrees to oversee Caleb’s extremely non-optional leave and take him on a forced vacation in the middle of nowhere.

There’s only one place she can think to take him – her Colorado home town, where board meetings and business calls feel a million miles away.

While Caleb battles cabin fever, Ashley figures that they might as well try and make the best of it, and in doing so shows him that there may be more important things than work, and success, and money. And that the most incredible person might just have been right by his side the whole time…

They tell themselves they won’t cross any professional boundaries. The only problem? They’re both lying to each other, and soon enough the truth will come out…

By that point, their fates will have been changed forever…

I didn't really like the main characters, mostly Caleb. Ashley wasn't too bad and she was decent and mature about things. Caleb was ridiculous. The way he treated his staff, other people, and any inconvenience was met with serious disdain. He was awful. All Ashley ever tried to do was help him and make his life better. Then all of a sudden, in a span of a week and then a pregnancy, he's completely changed? I'm not buying it. Like good for Ashley that she's happy and got her HEA.

Good Fast Read!

I would rate this a 3.5/5. Def a good fast read!! Easy to follow and very low angst. This has an MMC who’s willing to grovel when he messes up because not everything can be easy. Overall a cute romance story!

This was a brilliant book that had you thinking this is real life and it happening to you. Ashley Raven is he loyal assistant to billionaire CEO Caleb Huxley at Guard Tech and loves her job and very efficient at it. And now the Board of Directors have given her one job to get Caleb out of the office on vacation and so she takes him to her home town with less distractions for him to relax. Caleb Huxley is the billionaire CEO of Guaard Tech and is the best in the business but at a board meeting he has a melt down and so they con his assistant Ashley to get him tto take a vacation and reluctantly he agrees and now he finds himself in Colorado and Ashley’s home town but Caleb isn’t happy with the down grade of what he is use to but puts up with but cabin fever in setting in but on the plus side he gets to know Ashley a lot better and soon the burning attraction blurs the lines and they start having some hot and steamy nights together and feelings start to grow between them but how will it be when they return back into the real world after the rockslide kept them away longer. Ashley is struggling with her relationship with Caleb and soon it ends and she is heartbroken and quits her job and soon learns she is pregnant with his twins and tells him but she feels he doesn’t care about her like she does for him and walks away. Caleb doesn’t know how to show Ashley that she means everything to him and he wants to be a family together so he hands over his Company to the COO Geraldine Banks to run for him and leaves to go find Ashley to make things right with her and tell her how much he loves her and wants to be a family with her. Great book.

Changing His Life For Love -
When Ashley was given the task to ensure Caleb took time off work, she decided to go one step further and make him switch off work totally without his knowledge. Caleb was really upset that he was forced to take time off, but once he realised he was cut off from the business world and Ashley got him doing things outside of his comfort zone, he was able to relax and enjoy himself.

Caleb and Ashley grew closer the more time they spent getting to know each other better, but everything changed the moment Caleb discovered Ashley’s deception. Unfortunately, Caleb’s anger caused friction between them, but fate had other ideas in store for them, as Ashley discovered news that would change both their lives. As luck would have it, the news gave Caleb the push he needed to change his life, so he could have the life with Ashley he desperately needed.

This slow burn romance story pays homage to all the personal assistants in the world, who ensure their bosses lives cannot be run smoothly. I really enjoyed turning the pages and watching the lives of the characters transform. Grab a copy of this book now and indulge yourself for a few hours.

An entertaining read as the CEO of GuardTech, Caleb learns to balance his work and home life. Second in command of the company picked his assistant, Ashley to help him with that lesson. For the lesson, she chose to take Caleb to her hometown, because it would be easiest to control all outside conditions including his cell phone and internet usage. Of course it was not up to his normal five star standards, and they immediately became trapped in the small town by a rock slide over the highway into the only road out of town, so he was going to have to learn to like the small town. Over their forced time together, they both started to let walls down revealing more of their true selves. They grew close in the days ahead and even made friends with another couple in town. Caleb liked Ashley, because she was a strong, independent woman that would stand up to him. He was a man that started from the depth of poverty to build his own company that could not let go for fear of falling back to that depth again. Would Ashley be able to show him he had nothing to worry about?.

I didn't hate it, but it might have been the book with my most grumbling.

SPOILERS WITHIN.

Some of you have seen me already talking about this, but... the title is a spoiler. The pregnancy happens 70% through the book. 70%. AND technically *SPOILERS* he is no longer her boss by the time she finds out she's pregnant. From there the book actually moves rather fast.
Before that, you spend 65% of the book getting to know these two, really boring, people and watch them realize over a few days they might actually have the hots for each other. There's no chemistry, nothing about this screams, "We need a wild night together," or even, "We should do more than maybe share a chaste kiss."
It's also closed door for the one scene of them together.
I don't even really want to say the writing was good, because I was either horribly bored or horribly aggravated. But I was interested enough to finish it so, 2 stars. I guess.

Birds and bees do it....so do they

This book was another great read by Holly Rayner. The story is about Ashley and Caleb. He is a high-powered and stressed CEO of GuardTech and she is his very efficient executive assistant. When he is ordered to take some time off and relax, being completely away from all work and communications, she is put in charge of making sure it happens. The only way to do that is to take him somewhere and go with him. The plan Ashley thinks of is to take him to her hometown, in the middle of nowhere, and let him commune with the forest. What actually happens is a whole different type of nature communing between the two of them. As as the birds and bees do so do they....with the results coming nine months later.

When Ashley is given the job to get Caleb to go on vacation away from the workplace, she takes on the role and to make it work she takes him to her hometown which is worlds away from the workplace. Caleb can't believe that he was tricked to taking a vacation, but he begins to give in to it and unwind which leads to other things like him and Ashley connecting. But when the truth comes out, he is upset and almost loses Ashley as a result. Will they get their chance for happiness in the end.

A solid 3.75 (rounded up to a 4 because of Goodreads rating). A sweet clean story (no steamy scenes) with a happy ending. It's a quick read too.

I was actually a bit annoyed at first for the MMC being quite childish despite being a CEO but as the story developed, you find out why he's the way he is and his character develops to be much more mature.
The ending seemed a bit rushed, I think I would've enjoyed more to see their relationship develop after they stay together but it just kind of jumps to their relationship being established. But it's all good!

Caleb and Ashley's Story

Caleb is losing his edge. He's worked day and night to make a success of his software security company. And he's tired. Forced to take a vacation, Caleb and his trusted personal assistant Ashley head for a rest in the country. While "resting" they end up expecting twins. Engaging main characters, heartwarming storyline and very satisfying happily ever after.

This is billionaire CEO Caleb and his assistant Ashley’s story.
This is a well written story which has a forced vacation, challenges, forced proximity, boundaries, truths, heartbreak, emotions, romance, humor, and love, which leads to an entertaining and steamy page turner.

The story felt quite rushed and lacked emotional depth. The main characters go from being workaholics to suddenly discovering mutual attraction in just a couple of days, mainly due to forced proximity. There weren’t enough meaningful moments or gradual build-up to make their connection feel believable or earned. It all happened too quickly, making it hard to get invested in the romance.

Another really great story

Thank you Holly for another beautiful story. I absolutely loved Caleb and Ashley’s story. It had all the feels, enough angst to tug at the heart strings, a great storyline, and of course the all important sweet HEA. Thank you ❤️

There is not much I can say about this book.

I overall did not enjoy this book. It was written fast paced with no thought as to structure dynamics. I will think about reading another of her books.

Another good book by Holly, Caleb is properly like a lot of men who start their own business and can't let go.

Started reading. Nothing interesting held my attention in the plot, the characters, the writing, the dialogue, the chemistry, and the conflict. I read maybe 20% of this and then decided to move on

I didn’t love the 3rd person DPOV
The entire book felt surface level rushed, like reading a first draft.

Pretty Good for a short story

It wasn’t long and drawn out. There was a bit of drama included. Very few characters involved in the story.
