Will winter ever end?

As Kimberly grapples with her recent transition into a vampire, the Calem brothers struggle with the aftereffects of drinking Akira’s blood. Adding to their troubles, Aaron’s hunger spirals out of control, and Presley can’t shake his chest pains or find his usual optimism.

When Luke’s coordinates lead them to a secret location, the trio realizes tracking down the twins may be more challenging than expected. Their hollow victory in Blackheart forces them to confront the reality that their safe house in Alaska was never meant to be temporary—it's now permanent, and Zach and Luke aren’t returning.

Aaron and Kimberly decide on their own course of action for saving the twins and face grueling challenges along the way, while Presley discovers a clue that could change everything.

Can they reunite with Zach and Luke and save their family? Or will fate tear them all apart once and for all?

This is the fourth and final book in the This Blood that Binds Us series. All questions will be answered in this enchanting finale. With all the heart-pumping romance and found family feeling you’ve been waiting for.

{2.5 stars}

I feel like, hypothetically, if I were to go up to my estranged mother from years ago and tell her that the reason she hasn’t seen me in those past few years is because I became a vampire, all my siblings, her children, are also vampires and my now girlfriend is also a vampire, she would not react like theirs did..

This book lacks everything and they literally mention how they are sort of a rip off of Twilight. This was not the ending I was hoping for. The MC just knows how to be a vampire and kill the queen? *sigh* moving on..

2.5 stars!

Reading this series was like being in an on and off toxic relationship. I actually really liked the storyline, themes, and values, but I truly believe a lot could have been cut and still given readers the same message. I do understand the importance of familial bonds and how much the Calem brothers love each other, but I didn't need to be reminded of it for chapters and chapters on end. Like....I have been there for all of it.

To sum it up, I just think that Cokeley needs to let her storytelling do the talking. She is a fantastic writer with great ideas, and does such a phenomenal job at weaving emotions into her writing, BUT! it feels like she treats the reader like they can't draw the connections themselves? As a result, we get many many chapters of characters wasting away, steeling themselves, or worrying.

Anyway, I am an Aaron defender until the end of time, but it was a little disappointing to know that there is not a man that exists like that in real life. If he did, he would be a woman.

Would someone like to explain to me how I am supposed to move on? How will i continue living my life like this series hasn’t changed every aspect of my life forever and ever?

I can’t even describe it without yapping about every detail but I’ll try!
AARON SIR! I’m obsessed with the growth! Who is this man? 🥰
Aaron and Kim? How did these two get even cuter? 🥺
Lots of tears, anxiety, scream and clawing on my end. But I couldn’t ask for a better way to finish this series.

I am eternally proud of Sam for this beautiful piece of art and i will hold it close to my heart forever and ever.

This book had me crying at 8 am before I had to start work! But I had to finish it before I started a new day!

I needed a happy ending for the Calem brothers, did I get that? You’ll need to read it to find out…But what I can say is that this is a brilliant finale to the series.

My heart was beating fast the whole time! An adrenaline filled book that brings out all the emotions - sadness, anxiety, relief, happiness and more.

Thank you S L Cokeley for this series!

What to say about the 4th book in a series, it's so hard when so much has happened on the journey here. Obviously spoilers for earlier books but none for this one.

We jump back in time a little, parallel to the events of the third book to see what Aaron, Kim and Pres are getting up to whilst the twins are in the castle.

The trio have a lot to deal with, between Kim's change, being on the run and trying to figure out just how to save the Twins Luke and Zach

This was a roller coaster of emotions and definitely a bittersweet ending, always hard to say goodbye once a series ends.

Thanks to the author for a copy of the book as part of the Street Team, all reviews my own regardless.

Out now and a complete found family vampire series to get stuck into.

I'd also say to check triggers if you feel you need to, with all books bur especially 3 and 4 as they do get a bit dark and emotional at times so bear this in mind going in

Overall, this was a very satisfying conclusion to this series. It was incredibly emotional, and even though I knew it had a happy ending, I still found myself tearing up towards the end. I loved the new dynamics with Aaron, Kimberly, and Presley and all their character growth. I especially loved all the relationship development with Aaron and Kimberly. Their moments of love and passion were much needed and appreciated in the middle of all the depressing stuff around it.

I really only have 2 complaints, both with the ending, and they’re pretty spoiler-y so proceed with caution:

First, I know it was a bit delusional, but I’m actually so devastated that Zach and Luke didn’t get Ashley and Sarah back in the end. I hate that they both had girls they were so deeply in love with and lost them for real. I was seriously thinking and hoping this whole time that they’d both get their loves back.

Second, Will definitely didn’t need to die. It didn’t really make sense. It was just a useless sacrifice for the sake of having an emotional sacrifice. Already the fact that they were all being brought back from death didn’t make much sense because there had been nothing until that scene to indicate that as a possibility nor was there anything done to explain why this was some crazy exception. But then adding on Will’s death and his insistence that he was the only one who could give them any blood with such thin arguments for it? That part just didn’t work. She could have made Will’s blood special in some way and that could’ve solved both of those issues, but as written, that scene didn’t work very well.

Outside of that frustrating ending, I really enjoyed this book; it was a great finale. I think for the most part, each book in this series was better than the last.

I loved this series, it was something different from what I typically read but, I really loved the brotherhood between the boys and how Kim fit into their family.

I do have to say though I'm HIGHLY confused by the ending and felt it didn't really make sense and wasn't fleshed out properly.

Firstly, I now understand why each book cover has a heart being held and sometimes bled from by hands, yeah sure there’s the obvious reason for the character’s hands. Now for me? After reading the whole series, I think it’s the author handling your emotions. One moment she’s cradling you and shows you love then slaps you across the face with pain and sadness only to apologize with sweetness. And repeating it again and again, it’s toxic as hell but I was hooked.

In the first book I fell in love with the pure love Aaron Calem had for Kimberly Burns. How could you not be drawn in by 4 new vampires that are all brothers, living in a fraternity. And on top of that, their mom raised them to be respectful men. Sign Me Up.
The second book showed us how strong the bonds were between Kimberly and all of the brothers. All while slowly introducing us to the cult that forced the boys to become what they are.
The third tortured me by having me read 2 sweet, protective brothers be lost to the brainwashing of a vampiric cult. It hurt, made me cry and made me want to scream at the boys, ‘It’s not true! Don’t fall for this!’
But this book. Cokeley, I have a question. Did you at least kiss the brick before you started beating me with it?
How dare you make me sob with just the prologue. I need reimbursement for the amount of tissues I went through while reading. I thank you for blessing us with Aaron, who is the most gentle and protective lover. But did you really have to make him so sweet that I start blubbering like a baby reading about the love he possesses? Then you paired him with a strong willed woman who would do anything or kill anyone to protect her family. Perfection.
The ending of this book had me sobbing with my hands gripping my temples out of pure stress, it got me hyperventilating like the Battle of Hogwarts did to me in Harry Potter. This writer, much like her characters, does not pull her punches and boy she sure loves hitting you in the gut with worry.
That said, yes, this book is gonna rip your heart out, but the Calem brothers will be there to gently put it back in the end. Read this book confident that you will see all the aspects of love. The purity of it, the strength, passion, blind obsession, loyalty, and happiness love can bring.

Within the pages of this captivating tale lies a world brimming with emotionally charged vampire fantasies, meticulously crafted to resonate deeply with readers. Prepare to be swept away on a journey where the enduring power of love serves as a beacon, illuminating the darkest corners of despair. This is not merely a story of supernatural beings, but a profound exploration of the human spirit, wrapped in the guise of immortal creatures locked in an ancient struggle. Central to this narrative is the concept of found family—a tapestry of bonds woven together by shared experiences, mutual respect, and unwavering loyalty. These connections become the anchors in a turbulent sea of trials, offering solace and strength when all seems lost.

The heart of this narrative is a tense, hopeful quest, fraught with peril and uncertainty. Against seemingly overwhelming odds, our protagonists embark on a mission that will test their resolve, push their limits, and ultimately define who they are. Every step is fraught with danger, every decision carries immense weight. Yet, amidst the darkness, there is a flicker of hope—a belief that even in the face of insurmountable challenges, they can prevail. This is a tale for those who crave narratives that delve into the depths of emotion, that explore the complexities of relationships, and that celebrate the indomitable human spirit. It is an invitation to immerse oneself in a world where love conquers all, where family is a sanctuary, and where hope remains the guiding star in the darkest of nights.

This is one of my favourite series ever and this was the perfect final book to the series! I can tell the author absolutely poured her heart and soul into every single book and this was truly a five star series from start to finish!

The series was definitely a roller coaster of emotions and builds in tension and danger throughout. The author balances the emotional/ tense elements so perfectly alongside her humour which I absolutely loved. I love that the romance never overshadows the plot yet is still prominent within the story and the parallel timeline of books 3 and 4 adds so much depth to both the characters growth and storyline.

This is the perfect example of found family. I absolutely loved the relationship between the brothers and the relationship each of them has with Kim. The relationship between Kim and Aaron was built up at the perfect pace and I absolutely loved seeing them fall more in love with one another throughout each book. I love how each character got their own pov and shoutout to my fave presley who I just wanted to give a massive hug to so many times throughout this book! I love how they weren’t your stereotypical vampires and loved seeing their goofy fun sides as those kind of characters will always be my favourite! Each character was so crucial to the plot and had incredible growth throughout the four books and each individual brought so much character and personality.

I love this chaotic goofy family so much and need to reread it soon as I’m already missing the Calem brothers and Kim so much!

So I’ve read this entire series in about a week. I had my predictions and my hopes and honestly. I don’t care that I was wrong but I think the ending for this book was poorly done.

Firstly. This book has quite a bit of smut. Which is OK except there was literally no smut in the first three books. All of the books kept making jokes about “this isn’t going to be some weird sex thing” and then the author made it a weird sex thing. I UNDERSTAND why the FMC and MMC needed to drink their blood for the plot. But making it smut wasn’t needed.

Secondly. I know it’s personal opinion. But the ending was BAD. I would’ve preferred the characters all stayed dead. I think Will being able to use his blood to save them should’ve been null and void. She was dead. Her effects didn’t help them anymore so how come Will’s blood that was full of Hers DID?
I LOVED the idea of Aaron having to sacrifice himself. Bringing him back ruined the sacrifice in my eyes. Giving them all a happily ever after is fine but it felt unbelievable in a bad way to me.

I wanted to give 3.5 stars but I can’t do halves on Goodreads.
I loved the rest of this series but this book felt rushed and poorly done and it frustrates me.

Books 1 and 2? Absolutely phenomenal. I was hooked, obsessed, couldn’t put them down. But then came books 3 and 4… and honestly, I don’t even know what happened.

The biggest issue is that books 3 and 4 take place during the exact same timeline — just from different POVs. You basically have to read them back-to-back to make sense of what’s happening, but switching between them is beyond frustrating. It’s repetitive, disjointed, and honestly just unnecessary.

Why is there even an entire third book focused on characters who aren’t the main female or male lead? It felt like filler. By the time I got through book 3, I was forcing myself to finish book 4 — which, by the way, didn’t get remotely interesting until the last ten chapters.

The plot was dragged out for no reason, and Zach and Luke’s POVs repeated the same beats for months. All of that could’ve been summarized and combined into one tighter, more impactful book.

I genuinely loved the start of this series, but the second half felt like torture to get through. I wish the author had just condensed it — it could’ve been epic instead of exhausting.

Wowowowow, fighting the urge to cry because it’s already over 😭. S.L. Cokeley better write a thousand novellas about them, or I might actually lose my mind 😩.

While reading this final book, I kept thinking, “Who is this man, and what has he done to Aaron Calem?” because wow—Aaron was really going through the character development arc. And the love scenes?? I swear the author said this book had a 1.5/5 spice level, but those chapters felt like way more than just 1.5 (not that I’m complaining—I waited four books for this 🤭).

The bond between the Calem brothers is just… ugh, otherworldly. The way they love and protect each other means everything. I know it’s not the typical sibling experience—I mean, I have sisters, and our bond is definitely not like that 😂—but after everything they went through, all those life-or-death situations, they truly learned the value of family, they always did 🥺.

Overall, I adore this family, and I’m so happy to have them on my bookshelf 🩷🧡💜💙.

And im not gonna write as much as detailed as usual, but I just love the book, hate the queen with my whole heart though, but the torture about made me start crying 😭,and then I did start sobbing. The heartbreak is so good!!!

Like the title says this book series has broken, remade and broken my heart again and again. Aaron and Kimberly's love story, as well as the rest of the Calem brothers just tug at every heart string.
The journey each character goes through and the progression in each book, leads to this book and it was perfect. I thought I cried hard reading 'This Blood That Breaks Us' nothing compared to this book.
To be honest when I started this series, I read the tag lines and went with that... It's like twilight... Well I'm very pleased to say it's not twilight... It's unique and special and deserves its own cult following! ... IYKYK...
If you are considering reading this series of books. Do! The whole series is so worth it. Getting my book bestie the series for Christmas. It's going to ruin her in the best way possible!!

I was so excited for the final book, yet also never wanted this incredible series to end! This Blood that Bonds Us did not disappoint, and this series has an absolute chokehold on my heart! The themes and character development throughout are unparalleled and you can feel the heart and soul put into this series in every word. I could not put this book down, I was hooked from page one! This truly is contemporary, vampire romance at its finest and is so exceptionally one of a kind! I cannot get enough of all of the Calem brothers and Kimberly remains one of my favorite FMCs. This series is five stars from start to finish and I cannot recommend it enough!!! I truly cannot wait to see what masterpieces S. L Cokeley has in store for us next!!!

Man, I didn't think I was going to cry, but I sobbed in the end. I haven't shed a tear since Kingdom of Ash a few years ago, I think? The first 70% kinda dragged because I as much as I love Aaron and Kim, I just wanted to get to my boys 😭 The first 70% is mostly training/plotting/sulking/sex (usually in that order lol) Presley grew on me in this book and both he and Aaron grew into themselves and their characters. The lore is really cool, and I like how that played into the story! I think the ending was perfect, and I can't believe it's over. I'm so thankful to the author to have been on the street team for the omnibus' release and to have received ARCs of these books. The journey was so worth it, and I genuinely fell in love with the series and the characters ❤️

This was my first vampire series to ever read in my journey and I enjoyed it very much. A true found family theme here where I actually can say fit perfectly in terms of that trope. Everything the characters did was for one another, nobody was left behind and I loved seeing Aaron’s and Kim’s love grow after not seeing them at all in the last story.

The theme and cult of The Family was really well thought out, and I felt so much anger seeing how deep the twins were in and I always say if I feel any kind of emotion like that, the author did her job and she did!! I will truly miss this family, especially Kimberly. She was so strong and such a strong character. The development of these characters were also written really well and I’m so proud of them in the end 🤍

“i, kimberly calem, am brave.”

these books. oh, these books. i couldn’t find the words great enough to describe the weight on my chest after reading this. i love these characters. i love them so much, they’ve become part of me.

getting to witness aaron and kim fall in love with each other over these books was incredible!!!!! may this kind of love find me. may a beautiful blonde haired vampire love me like aaron loves kim. that’s all i could ever ask for.

the last ten chapters felt like i was getting my heart ripped out of my chest, i had to put down my kindle and sob into my hands for a bit every few pages.

best believe i will be getting physical copies, and i will be first in the line for whatever the authour writes next.

This book was so unbelievably beautiful. One thing I love about Samantha’s writing is the little details she includes with each character the little quirks and tidbits. The connection between Kimberly and the boys is so palpable it’s tangible. I was so scared they were gonna stay dead and Samantha was going to be sent my therapy bill but it all worked out. These characters who had been broken down, separated and traumatized got the ending they deserved. I’m so beyond sad this series is over. 10/10 will read again

I have no words for how much of an amazing rollercoaster this series has been. It has been an honour to follow it from the small seed of inspiration shared with us online to being able to hold all 4 books physically in my hands. Cokeley successfully pulls every emotion out of you throughout the series, building up from light fluff to tense emotions as the series progresses. Providing a satisfying end that twists your heart. This series will forever be dear and close to my heart and I can't wait until I'm emotionally ready to start it all over again.

. it was a good finish to the story. My biggest complaint of this book that also ties to the 3rd book is that there mostly single POV where as i spent a good amount of time wondering what was happening to the other people during a different POV. When you read it you have to understand the 3rd and 4th book happen at the same time there not different timelines it’s just two different POV of the same timeframe which if i had known prior to reading it i would have enjoyed more.

way better than twilight

I absolutely loved every single Calem brother—each one had such a distinct personality that kept me hooked. There were a few minor grammatical errors and plot holes, but honestly, they didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed the series. The found family vibes, humor, and emotional moments really hit home. I’ll definitely be reading more of this author’s work and recommending this series to all my book friends!

Pros: literally everything, the emotions, Aaron’s and Kimberly’s relationship, “Mrs. Calem” giving the same vibes are “Mrs. Darcy”, the stressful as he’ll end battle, great steamy scenes/blood drinking, a beautiful and moving found family
Cons: 1) what do I do now 2) I really hope these series gets a spinoff bc I NEED all the brothers to get their own romances and hea
