The OET writing subtest requires candidates to write an unambiguous, cogent letter that is correctly formatted, with accurate spelling and punctuation. Candidates are given 5 minutes to read the case study then 40 minutes to hand write the letter. The recipient's details and reason for the letter are explained in the Writing Task, found at the end of the case study. Case Studies are discipline doctors write a medical letter; nurses write a nursing letter; dentists write a dental letter - and so on.
