This book was originally written while temporarily living in Sweden in 1998. In the winds and rain of autumn, the atmospheric forest nearby, I suddenly began writing this book after having no idea that I was goin to write a novel. It begins with a woman being held captive in a forest, and I had no idea who she was. The next chapter turned out to be about a trainee doctor, which was quite surprising as I had expected it to be about the first woman. The third chapter was even more surprising as rather than returning to either of the first characters, I found myself writing about a drunk calld Paul. However, as the book went on the narrative did return to each of the situations and characters, entwining some of them as it went without any planning or thought on my part.
This may seem rather odd, but I recall, with only a few chapters left to go, going outside for a coffee and cigarette break and being very excited because I was finally going to find out how the story ended and how some of the characters were connected - it was as if I was reading someone else's book!
Of all my novels this was the one written in virtual total Flow with no idea of what was happening. Because of this it was an experience I will never forget and Minos remains my favourite novel of all those I've written.
This version was self-published and needs a thorough redraft before ever being published again. This said, everyone who has read it has really enjoyed it, no one being able to predict the end and all loving the twists and turns of this quite dark psychological thriller (so maybe I'm just being too picky in regards the need to redraft).
It's not available in many places, one being amazon.com

FS: "Susan woke to the sound of raindrops tapping on the tarpaulin above her head."
LS: "Walking from the clearing, he vanished like a ghost between the trees."

This book was an absolute page turner. Once I started, I became the characters. I fell in sync with the story and became lost...each chapter left me guessing how everything tied in together. The end really did catch me off guard. This book is a must read!!
