She’s the woman, behind the man, behind the curtain…
Isaac has lied his way through his entire life. A conman by trade, he has executed his biggest heist yet: stealing the title of the Wizard of Oz. Only this time, his lies have been altruistic as he tries to protect a young girl with a dangerous magical ability. Unfortunately, his secret has recently been exposed to the witch he was falling for—losing her trust, and worse, her good heart.
Glinda the Good has truly earned her golden reputation, sacrificing time and magic to help everyone but herself. Divert storm-flooded rivers to protect munchkin villages? No problem. Put out a barn fire to save the cows? Just another day for the good witch. But no one ever told her that devoting her life to others would leave her without any time for her own.
When the mayor of the Emerald City announces a competition for a powerful wish, both Glinda and Isaac want the reward for radically different reasons, and each is willing to do whatever it takes to win. Even if that means being a little bit wicked…
Another sweet, whimsy-filled romance in Oz. If you ever wished the book version of "Wicked" was a little less grim and had some more humor and a little romance, then this series is for you.
While the last one had to do with (older) Dorothy and her travels and eventual romance with Nick Chopper/The Tin Woodsman, this one is about Glinda The Good Witch and The Wizard of Oz.
In this book, Mayor Boq of Emerald City holds a beauty pageant/ball for his son to choose a bride. The girl who wins will receive a wishing garment preloaded with one wish. Glinda enters the pageant sponsoring Ozma, the other sister of the Wicked Witch (now no longer Wicked), and the Wizard enters his foster daughter Jellia. Then of course the Wicked Witch crashes the party with not one but two contestants - poor ice maiden Myrsina resurrected, and gnome maiden Langwidere. Hilarity, action, and romance ensue.
It was a fun story with Cinderella elements and happily ever after endings. There's no spice, though there is some violence. 4 out of 5 stars. I am looking forward to reading the next Oz Romance.
An excellent read! I enjoyed the romance between Glinda and Isaac, the Wizard. This isn't just a romance: there's adventure and a bit of mystery as well. The characters in this book are delightful and engaging and I hope there will be books for all of them.
very cute edition of wizard of Oz but with more of a bachelor theme. I really enjoyed the characters and the plot my only downfall was the ending was a bit confusing
