The Right To Say Your Name

Rate this book
Charlotte
After a failed marriage, all I see in my future is achieving my lifelong dream of opening a bakery.
Getting kidnapped, of course, wasn’t on my agenda. And if it isn’t insane enough that the man behind it is the same one who gave me a chance to pursue my dream, there is this based-on-nothing certainty that he will not harm me. He will hurt me though — he is clueless about love.

S. is a killer and a kind human being. A monster and a victim. He scares me, and I want him at the same time. Who is this man?

S
I see her. Worse, she sees me. Past my appearance and into my dark soul. And this time, I believe obsession will consume me and I won’t be able to resist the urge to keep her for myself.

With just one look she’s changed everything. She has given me a glimpse into a life I didn’t believe was possible. Not for someone like me. Not for someone who’s just a killer. Someone the world knows only as S.

I’ve never cared. Until now. Until her. Caring is a mistake. One I can’t afford to make. One that may be too late to avoid.

Sienna Zini never ceases to amaze me.
Every book gets better and better, and I didn't think it could be possible considering how good her last book was.

TRTSYN is the absolute perfect balance between romance and suspense. The way she wove the main characters' stories together is a masterpiece.
How tormented they are, how much they grow and find each other, how much heartache they can bear, and still find the strength to carry on.
But most of all, Sienna makes you fall in love with her characters from page one, and this book is the perfect example. I never thought I would enjoy this genre so much, but I find myself barely able to wait for her next book!

She has become my favorite author!

Plot 3/5
Spice 4/5

Some parts are slow but once it speeds up you will be sucked in. S at first is a confusing guy you don't know if you like him or not but he will win you over pretty fast. Jeb is a sweetheart once you get to know him a bit. Charlotte is hit and miss throughout the book. Sometimes you want to smack her and other times you agree with her. Over all it's a good book.

First off mind the triggers!

Now this book is unhinged. You have stalking, unaliving and lying by omission. There is no cheating. That being said that doesn’t mean that one party or the other doesn’t think this at times.

S has me in fits. I love him like 20% of this book and others I want to push off a cliff. Charlotte falls for S then sadly fells like she isn’t enough and that he doesn’t feel like she is worth putting an effort into. She doesn’t realize all the behind the scenes craziness he has going on towards the attraction he has for her. Once she does it scares her and she wants him to back off. In his eyes he does in hers he just totally has left her.

This book had me all up in my feelings. I felt so bad for Charlotte most of this story. S has me wanting to scream most of this book. Then we learn his back story and then I’m even more on the fence about S. Like I’m sorry for him but I’m like you turned into this person by shutting everyone out.

The book is pretty spicy but like I said pay attention to those triggers. At the end of the day I’m going to be checking out this authors backlist because she knows how to write an amazing story that pulls you in and has you in a chokehold flipping pages and at times wanting to flip tables.

Charlotte and S - Their story is complicated but boy do they have chemistry together.
S has never lied to Charlotte about who he is or what he's done. But he keeps some mystery with his name. He calls her Kitten and he is just S. Calling each other by their names means you completely trust each other he said.
There are a lot of dark scenes, regret, and strong emotions throughout the book.
I loved reading about the family Charlotte has around her in her friends who became the tight knit family she never had growing up.
While S has a pretty messed up way of showing his Kitten he cares about her however, after reading about his story and how he grew up it makes sense.
I was so caught up in this book and the story of S and Charlotte. I wanted them to have a HEA ending. Boy was I thrown off when what I thought was their HEA and plot twist!
I really hope I get to read more about the characters in this book. I feel like a continued story wouldn't be complete without all of them making an appearance.

This was a very captivating dark romance.
You meet Charlie (Charlotte) and Silas in this story. She's struggling to save up for her dream, opening a bakery. But you soon find out it isn't quite that simple. Que the angry, abusive (mostly mental/verbal) estranged husband. You don't really find out about him until later but he plays a role in all of this. Because Charlie is hiding away from her husband, she is able to meet S. There's instant but hesitant attraction on her part. He is enthralled with her after just that one run in where she works.

From that point on he is obsessed with her. And he believes that's all it is. They have many encounters throughout the book where you slowly see their relationship form. There were so many times I was on the edge of my seat due to either serious things happening (lots of action moments) or they were "breaking up" for lack of a better way to describe it. But they always went back to eachother.

They both have difficult pasts and that makes things a bit harder for them.

I thoroughly enjoyed the different characters! I loved Charlie and Hannah the most. But I think each character added so much to the story.

This was a great push and pull, angsty dark romance. Plenty of touch her and die vibes too!

Definitely check trigger warnings but overall I definitely recommend giving this one a try!

Highly Recommend ! This book is a great introduction for readers new to dark romance ( like i am ).

Who doesn't love a MMC who is obsessed , morally grey, protective ( not only in a touch her and you die way) but he also makes sure she eats and pushes her to accomplish her dreams 🫠.

I really appreciate that the book did not fall into the trap of blurring the lines of consent.

The toxic relationship ( not betweeen the main characters) was portrayed brutally accurately hightlighting the subtly of abuse and how easy it is to get entrapped in a toxic cycle.

I enjoyed seeing the character development of fmc as she becomes more confident and reassured. I also loved how she had that man wrapped around her finger 😂🤭.

Thank you Sienna for this ARC

First I will say this is a very long book to get through. I feel the story line was written well, it just could have been shorter. The dynamic of the characters at time was toxic but they really did fall in love for each other and went through quite a lot.
The MFC was built great, the MMC was also great but a little complex. If you want a long tragic romance with a lot more story than spice then this is your book. I think there could have been more spice added in some places but I went along with the book because I did enjoy the what's next aspect. Plenty of twists and turns in here to make your head think.
I give the book 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for the characters and beginning of this book that got me hooked..

As a big fan of romance I was really drawn to this book. Once I started it, I found it hard to put down. To see two broken characters come together and build more than just trust was interesting. The tension was thick between these two and Sienna delivered on giving us what we wanted.

There were so many things I loved about this book. The SPICE. The depth of each MC and the build up between them.. The protective MMC and the a curvy FMC who knows what she wants. I loved seeing each character grow beyond their traumatic pasts as they exposed themselves to one another. Sienna did not disappoint. I encourage anyone reading this to pick up a copy.

For some reason I love to see broken characters come together and find healing in each other. This book delivers just that. Two people so broken and full of their own trauma that go through hell before finding happiness in and with each other. I will admit I found myself feeling frustrated with the amount of times "S" left and came back. It got to a point where I started wondering when Charlotte would say "enough is enough" and not take him back, but it was definitely all part of the journey and seeing the final result was definitely satisfying. Make sure you read the content warnings as it can get dark at times.

Such an amazing dark and twisted Romance. Charlotte has lived a harsh life, a mother who was never there to her husband who was mentally abusive. She has fled the life she knows to find herself and her dreams only to become the obsession of S. S has had an even darker life, and sees the sun in charlotte. He becomes obsessed and kidnaps her, little does he know that he will find himself under her spell!

I really enjoyed the story with its twists and turns! There are a lot of trigger warnings! Beautiful dark romance.🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

This book took me a while to read mostly because I was in a funk and couldn’t get into a book. But when I was finally able to finish, I will say I did enjoy the story of S and Charlotte. The stalker vibe I loved. The chemistry did seem forced in the beginning but it made sense with S and how he is. He is very much touch her and die kinda vibe. I do wish we got more details on what they were doing during their long time apart, and more spice. There wasn’t much of it but overall I did like this book.

The Right To Say Your Name is a dark stalker romance between S and Charlotte.
Charlotte is trying to live a life away from her abusive ex husband and S is a contract unaliver that is obsessed with her.
He kidnapped her but let her go and they form a relationship of sorts. It's toxic because he feels he can't love and is always leaving for assignments.
They work through the trauma and come together stronger.

Have you ever wanted to know what falling in love with your stalker would be like? Well this book is the book to find out what it would be like if he was a kidnapping killer. He helps make all her dreams come true and shows her love and acceptance, as she does for him. I really enjoyed the way S tortured her ex husband. 😉

Usually I read more than 22 pages but all I can say is, it feels like it’s been written by AI? I’m reading all the positive reviews and confused as fuck because every sentence just seemed to be like fake? Idk. The wording and way it reads feels painful to get through…

The first 75% of the story got me extremely hooked up, and while the last 25% is not bad I believe I would have enjoyed more if there was not so much back and forward between the 2 of them. I understand is not the helthiest relationship, but saying I will not be with that person and less than one page later say I need to be with that person, when it is so often as this last part of the book, for me it becomes an annoyance rathet than bringing insight to their relation.
If it just had it a couple of times I would have given the 5 stars.

So first off this was a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌶️🌶️🌶️ read for me! I'm absolutely impressed by the author and this was the first book from her I've read. I was absolutely shocked with how quickly the characters drew me in from the beginning. S is your dark morally grey guy and Charlotte is our fmc who I find is relatable. She definitely has her stuggles throughout the book.it was an emotional ride through out the book and I was in my feelings a lot. There is romance, suspense, spice, unaliving and stalking. This is 💯 a must read! I'm looking forward to reading more from Sienna!

( ARC Review )

Sometimes after reading a book, you just need to breathe, to take a moment and process everything you have just read. How, just like the characters your head feels all over the place. You fully immerse yourself in a book so much so, without realising you feel like you became one of them. A side-line character, just watching every moment unfold.

Two complete opposites, both with difficult pasts. I would say they were thrown into each other’s paths, but that wouldn’t be exactly correct. You will understand how their story came to be, it will make sense from the very start.

Charlotte, struggling to find her way through life. Doesn’t realise how strong and resilient she already is. Nor does she expect the turn of events that will undoubtedly change her life completely, within moments. Throw in S and her whole world turns upside down. Possibly for the better but maybe for the worst.
S, a completely different kind of person, the unhinged killer with an unknown identity, with only a few ever knowing it. A ghost you could say, maybe one of those creatures that you hear go bump in the night. Until he sees her and in return, he is seen.

How I loved both MC’s is beyond belief. Their story will take you for one hell of a ride and it isn’t a comfortable. TRTSYN one of the biggest gifts you can give someone is your trust, but should never be given lightly. This book has a beautifully dark way of showing that. The tension … there’s a lot. I know you probably expect it by now, did I cry? Yes. For a different reason, I was angry for them.

I can’t say much more as I wouldn’t want to spoil it and honestly I want to tell everyone, so I’ll stop while I’m ahead. You know us dark romance lovers just squeal at the thought of a stalker one that’s clearly unhinged, a killer, cold and possessive. This is what we have here. You may want to check this out once it’s released because … hello, morally grey man alert.

Check TW's first!!!

This is one of those books where I couldn’t wait to turn the page but also dreaded it at the same time, desperate to find out what happens but also fearful for the two main characters.
My heart ached for S and the life he has had . Is it any wonder he behaves the way he does? He really doesn’t know any better, having very little knowledge or experience to base his decisions on.
I loved the mysterious quality of this book. For much of the story , the reader isn’t sure who S is, who it is he’s working for or what’s shaped him to become the person he is. We are “drip fed” morsels of information and things are gradually revealed. Then, just when you think you know what’s coming next, along comes an unexpected twist!
Both main characters are flawed and dealing with issues from their past . S completely alters the direction of Charlotte’s life albeit in a rather unorthodox manner but Charlotte also helps S to become more “human”.
To me, one of the underlying themes of this book is that of trust; who we can trust, who not to trust and how easily those lines can be blurred. Also, how hard it can be to gain someone’s trust which is then easily lost.
This book will be pinging around inside my head for a little while longer….

This was a ride...

2.5/5

I will start off by saying that I did enjoy the dynamic between Charlotte and S, at least from the halfway mark on. There were some really nice romantic moments that made the book enjoyable.

That being said, there were quite a lot of flaws for me. The writing style was very robotic, almost like it was written by AI... Also, there really wasn't any in-depth character development to form any real attachment to the characters. Everything was very surface level. I also felt like the plot was just... All over the place. I think there was just way too much going on. I honestly feel like the kidnapping aspect of it didn't really fit at all with the story, and it could have been better if it was left as a stalker romance. It didn't really add anything to the story other than having me seriously question Charlotte's judgement.

Additionally, if you are not a fan of the miscommunication trope, boy do I have some disappointing news for you. More than half of this book was miscommunication/toxic relationship. If you like that, then I would definitely recommend this.

All in all, it wasn't a bad book, just not for me.

good but stretches

This is high quality writing. You are reading a book that seems like a movie. Characters very well developed and also considering the H’s background -realistic .
Strong heroine, despite her bad decisions.

The problem is that most of the book is “push and pull”.
It was interesting at the beginning and then it was “together” , “he leaves”, “she breaks”, he comes back, “together”, “he leaves” and on and on… in between they have “talks” and they are pretty deep too, but at some point I started skipping because really, I just felt it was an endless repetition of it all…
And eventually at 86% I DNF’d. I could see the HEA coming but had no more patience to wait for it.

I very much doubt I will re-read.
It is a good book, the writing beautiful, but I gave up….

As soon as you start reading this book, the author and her writing pulls you in and you feel and sense just how dangerous S is , the tension is thick, pheww!.
I love both the characters, so different from each other and trying to fight their own demons and traumas.
Do you enjoy as much as I do a dirty mouthed , unhinged stalker?
A strong but vulnerable female character that works on herself ? Love how this author always keeps it real with her books, we all need to work hard on our fears.
The spice is chef kiss.
Plot full of secrets, twists and turns that had me feeling too much at times.
I have been following this author for a while and each new book gets better than the one before!.

I'm not into every genre, there are very few mafia romance books I like. There are very few dark romance books I like.

And then there is Sienna, how she writes in unbelievable, and yet because of it, I believe it.

I believe in Charlotte's feeling towards S. changing, who can blame the woman. My feelings towards him changed too. This book kept me up at night, tugging at my heart strings. Too much is going on and the characters rightfully so feel like everything around them is going to shit. That this can never be, but where so often books where they can't be together get boring and slow. TRTSYN never does.

At this point Sienna could write the manual to a television and I would auto buy it. Because she'll make it a suspenseful, soul crushing read.

I am now madly in love with this author. This book was fantastic. It feels different and new the way everything is structured. It gives you everything you get from some other tropes like mafia, arranged marriage, club, etc but it’s not it’s something new and having read over 1,000 spicy books that is extremely rare and special. I loved both the characters. The only reason I’m going down to four stars is because the end felt like it dragged it actually took me about 3 days to read the last four chapters.

The Right To Say Your Name is unequivocally one he*^uva ride! This book is intense, emotional, gritty and raw. These characters and their storyline are completely consuming. This author takes her readers on a dark, twisted journey with two broken souls that keeps us on the edge of our seats almost from the beginning. The emotions these characters and their paths evoke is overwhelming at times. It's definitely a love/hate relationship with these two that I couldn't get enough of.
