Stratton Heath is hard working and a very wealthy man. He owns hotels, expensive, gorgeous ones that deal with the finer things in life. He may be older, 45, but he can still get the attention of the ladies. I liked him. He's not arrogant or full of himself. He's mature and caring. He's also dealing with his son Trevor that seems to not want to grow up. Which Stratton isn't happy about. So when he learned about Ariel, he's hoping he could sway her to help motivate his son to be ambitious like her, to stop acting like a spoiled kid, and deal with being an adult. But Stratton is captivated with Ariel instead. He is interested... but she's younger, she's his son's ex-girlfriend. How can he, does she(?), how will this work?!🫣 Can it?!!
This is a slow burn, getting to know each other romantically type of story. It takes its time building the interest of the main couple, Ariel and Stratton. There is an age gap, 20 yrs. He's wealthy. She isn't. There is the taboo element that may or may not hinder their feelings and steps toward one another. But Ms Vaughn didn't make it yucky. The spice level is mild. He did help Ariel to know what she wants with a man. Her wants. Her needs. He spoiled that girl. Dang!!! He sure did.😁 An Audi people. Woo!! Ariel is now dealing with a job she no longer likes due to a creepy boss. Eww! Just eww!🤢🤢 I did get annoyed with Ariel when Stratton was trying to make sure she got home at one point. Stop it, Ariel. The man is watching out for you. And Trevor. That guy definitely needs to grow up already. It's time, Trev. It's time!😆😆 Ariel gets pregnant. Stratton is supportive. Trevor does find out. How does it end? I can't tell you. I do recommend you read it and find out. Enjoy! I like the book cover.❤️❤️❤️

The quick and dirty of it: Ariel meets up with her ex's father because he's desperate for his son to find some ambition and quit being a part time lay about who can never be on time for anything because he's too busy gaming. Stratton (the dad) offers to pay her 100k to help his son find some motivation. Recently moved for a new job that turns out not to be as great as she hoped due to sexual harassment of another, higher up employee she agrees, hoping the money will shoot her forward with her life goals. They have a drink and some dinner and then Stratton wows her with some paint playing and some singing in the restaurant lounge and BOOM magically the chemistry sparks and they end up in the penthouse together.
Their whoopsie turns into a whoopsie and despite the idea of his grown son hating him forever Stratton supports Ariel with whatever decisions she makes and continues to have a relationship with her despite trying not to because the chemistry is just 'that' good.
Spice wise, there is spice, mostly in standardized mouth service by both and a lot of missionary. It's not out there or anything else. The chemistry, well the author mles the two characters believe it's there in full force but as a reader it's kinda of a...well I guess if theu think it's there then good for them kind of situation. At least for me. It wasn't terrible bit it wasn't amazing, you know?

I really enjoyed this story. Ariel gets a job offer she can’t refuse in Seattle she doesn’t know anyone there except her ex., Trevor. They broke up because he was moving back home to Seattle because of financial issues. He lacked motivation and drive which Ariel herself has in spades and so they were not a good match. When Trevor’s father Stratton reaches out to her to get her help motivating his son the chemistry between them is undeniable. Although there is a 20 year age difference between Ariel and Stratton they have a lot in common and enjoy each other’s company. Things get messy when Trevor finds out about them and Ariel gets pregnant. This was a really good story had lots of heat, and I would highly recommend. I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Talk about explosive chemistry and definitely not a slow burn romance. Ariel is excited about her new job in Seattle with a separate division of her company. The only thing she hated was leaving Atlanta and her best friend, roommate. Trevor, her ex-boyfriend from Atlanta, moved back home to Seattle when he ran out of money. They remained friend but broke up because they had different career paths. She was ambitious, career driven and mature, while he was immature and content with working in a bike shop. Her new company is something entirely different that what she was used to. What happens when she meets Trevor's father, and he asks her to help him? What about their attraction? What happens when Trevor hears about them meeting in the park? What about her treacherous boss? What happens when she ends up pregnant? What about his vasectomy? Plenty of drama, some angst with Trevor and some twists. This was a sweet romance that is hard to put down. A happy ending and no cliffhanger. I read a free arc via the author and voluntarily chose to review it.

I received an early copy of Alix Vaughn's newest release. I found the book very enjoyable to read. Vaughn always gives you well-developed characters in a world with a solid foundation. This is the journey of Ariel and her encounter with Stratton. The sparks fly between these two with a touch of spice. And he knows how to treat a lady, unlike his son, Trevor. Who so happens to be Ariel's ex-boyfriend. A surprise pregnancy. A creepy boss. New city and job. What will happen next? You'll have to read the book to find out.

When Ariel accepts a job offer where her ex lives it will change her life in more ways than one. Reconnecting with her ex was not a good choice because he was still the same person she remembered, and he hadn't shown any growth at all a true man child. When his father messaged for a meeting, she had no idea how that meeting will upend her life. This story is filled with intriguing twists that will keep you glued to the pages.

This is a well written slow burn story, which has family, friendships, ex’s dad, an age gap, challenges, undeniable chemistry, romance, surprise pregnancy, and love, which leads to an entertaining, fun, and steamy addictive page turner.

Great story!
Stratton owns many hotels and clubs. His son Trevor broke up with his girlfriend of three years, Ariel. Trevor is having a hard time getting a normal job. He works only part time and relies on his father for expensive things. Stratton texts Ariel to meet him to talk about helping Trevor move forward. The minute he meets her he is smitten. Ariel thinks he is oh so handsome. There is a spark. The end up having sex and things go awry.

Exes dad
So let’s start off by saying that it was absolutely lovely to read about an ex that wasn’t bad, cheater, or any other cliche stuff. He was a nice person, slightly immature whose minuses were no ambition and video gamer. He didn’t overreact when finding his ex on sofa with his father. Very realistic situation. The boss was a good touch of bad bosses added to the situation. All in all both main characters were real, believable and interesting.

True Love wins!!!
This is the first book I have read by Alix Vaughn and thoroughly enjoyed it. The Characters were so well defined you developed empathy and hope for the 3 main Characters to have a successful outcome to their challenging delimna. I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading more by Ms. Vaughn.

Quick read
Poor writing. The dialogue is stilted. The explanations are unnecessary. The grammar is horrendous (Bella and I’s… really???).
This is the second and last of this authors books that I will read because I noticed the same thing in both. It’s really unfortunate because they’re my favourite themes.

I love a good age gap, ex's dad trope, but this one just didn't hit the spot. There were a few typos that I noticed, but not anything that I couldn't get over.

So sweet!!
I was looking for a quick sweet read and this is it! The writing is so good and the romance is REALISTIC!! I am so happy that even the spicy scenes are how real life is and that’s so hard to find. It’s a quick read but the pacing is perfect, def recommend!
