NO FUCKING WAY THIS IS ON GOODREADS NOW!!!!!! SINCE WHEN!!!! AND WHY AM I JUST FINDING OUT ABOUT THIS NOW!!!! THIS IS ONE OF MY FAV MANHWA EVER... SO INFINITY STARS ♾️✨😍💘🥹 i'm going to have to reread now 🤭 everyone literally needs to read this.
Look, this is one of those many stories were the dragon needs a wife and the brother goes "let me do it instead", plus a rampant RAMPANT amount of non-lightsabered smut (you have this knowledge now do with it what you will). It was definitely really cute, characters all are pretty well developed, and a puppy top is just the best. The story is also pretty solid and I enjoyed it. A good time if this is what you are looking for.
I've read the complete story on Lezhin US, but I'm reviewing it a volume at a time here. Yoo Taehyuk's family has been serving a dragon for centuries; the source of their good fortune and wealth, not that the creature has been seen the entire time. But now he's awaken and searching for his mate, so one of the family has to become it to keep the good fortune in the family.
Taehyk's sister is chosen, but he suggests he'll go instead. He's felt connection to the dragon since he was a child, and he's curious to see the real thing. However, he goes there with an intention to talk the creature out of the mating, as he has better things to do than settling down. But he encounters a young man who wants nothing to do with him. So, naturally Taehyk has to try and change his mind.
This is a good start to a series, if a bit slow and difficult to get into at first. But, having read the whole thing, I know it'll get more interesting fast. And spicy.
read it and loved it. i love the puppy top dynamic so much. hyo-un suffered so much all alone. i love how he went from a grump to a total sweetheart. and art was so pretty too. taehyuk was a good character too. i need the side stories now.
This review is for the entire webtoon (available on Lezhin). This has a pretty slow start, and only fully kicked off in the second season when it flashed back to their past lives together. Mostly, I enjoyed it, but the story had some elements that made me feel uncomfortable rather than emotionally invested.
Hyo-Un's relationship with Taehyuk is very complicated. This should be a good thing, and I usually enjoy a relationship that encompasses real human struggles and blurred lines. But between their ages, their co-dependency, the lies/secrets, and the power dynamics more broadly, it was just a bit... murky. I can see the romance in it, and I don't think anyone's crossing any major lines, but consent gets a bit ambiguous at times.
One of the biggest reasons this didn't land for me is because I could never get behind Hyo-Un. He's too mopey and childish for me to enjoy his story. He's a sympathetic character, sure, with a tragic past to overcome, but nothing about him being an obsessed cry-baby makes me root for his relationship with Taehyuk in particular. I'd rather see him process his trauma and move on in a healthy way. Hyo-Un isn't human, so it wouldn't be fair to judge him by human standards, but at no point does he seem emotionally mature enough to really know what he's doing in making Taehyuk his soulmate.
Overall, a very unique story, with a nice blend of modern setting, fantasy elements, and then historical setting as well. But the pace was a little slow, and the conflicts/complications in the romance were a bit too morally ambiguous for me.
I like the relationship dynamic between Yoo Taehyuk (MC) and Hyo-un (ML) because they can’t get enough of each other. It took both of them to warm up to each other but once they did, they couldn’t keep their hands off of each other. It’s really hot and their chemistry is off the charts, which is me saying in a roundabout way that the smut in this webtoon is chef’s kiss. I also like how even though Hyo-un is technically a 300-year-old dragon, Taehyuk is the one who’s more mature in their relationship. I mean, from what has been hinted in the story so far, Taehyuk was older than Hyo-un was in their shared past, with Taehyuk even being Hyo-un’s lord so the ending of S1 wasn’t surprising to me. There’s still a lot to uncover and I’m hoping that the characters will get a happy ending.

This manhwa is the most emotionally charged one I have ever read. Similar to "Taming the Tiger," it features two timelines: the past and the present, along with the tragedies within that are truly worth crying over. I love the pacing of the story, the plot, and the heartfelt quotes exchanged between the male leads. My heart aches for both Hyoun and Taehyuk and what they endured, especially Hyoun. His younger self is my weakness, and his beautifully broken eyes convey so much grief and pain. Every character received what they deserved in the end, although I do feel sympathy for Taehyuk's older brother; he seems to have a rough time based on my observations.
Season 1 was okay. I was intrigued about what the deal with the dragon was and if there was more to his mate´s dissapearance. Only bad thing is that in the last third it was SUDDENLY ALL SMUT SOS. Sigh.
I’ve finished the entire story in one day cause night shift and it was so cute 🥺 and romantic and yall know im a sucker for past lives 😭 the amount of hardships and tragedy these two had to face 😭 they absolutely deserve that hea 🙏🫶 also i didnt even expect to cry! Like we have been so conditioned to only expect red flags and toxic relationships in BLs that if people are even decent it makes me cry 😂 and i like how mature taehyuk is there is no annoying back and forths 😂
oh. my. god. this is beautiful I loved it so much, I love his dragon form and I love the story, it's so unique and I was afraid they wouldn't have an happy ending but omg they were so perfect I'm so so happy
