Not the kind who got rejected by a girl and lost what little mind he had to begin with; but the trained from age eight variety. The type who is contracted to eliminate targets without hesitation.
He’s the kind you hope to never meet.
Working in is his family’s successful front, married to the woman he’s dangerously obsessed with, and free to use his dark gifts without capture; Kage has it all.
Until his cousin drops too many bodies on assignment…
His perfect wife has lingerie he’s never seen before...
And someone in the company he was raised to give his life for is setting him up.
As his world unravels, one thing drives Kage Wilde above all else.
First in the interest of transparency and I'm pretty sure some laws, I must divulge that I recieved this book from the author as an ARC - Advanced Reader Copy - with a request for feedback. As such I will be judging honestly, however I am not holding minor errors against it such as misspellings, homophones or grammer issues because I know it had not finished that portion of editing yet.
Let's begin...
This book is probably going to be billed as "for anyone who enjoyed Butcher and Blackbird!" That may be true but isn't accurate enough. That other book is more "Like 'Dexter' but make it RomCom!" This book is closer to "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" but with more death. The MMC and FMC are husband and wife, with secrets. The MMC works for a family owned "securities company" which is basically book speak at this point for "our C-Suite is filled with morally grey persons who hide their gadgets, labs, research, offices, and questionable decisions behind the dull exterior of a predictable but boring legitimate business." I am not at all mad about that. I enjoy reading about tech and gadgets and research into how to do things better, and being a serial killer, or an assassin, is no different! Infact, it is the adding in of the details to how certain things work at the office space that helped lend credibility to the idea as well as showcase the longevity of the family's secret side business and how it managed to remain hidden but thrive.
It seemed at first it would be hard to identify with the MMC, given his psychological tendencies, and I thought that telling the story from his POV was an interesting choice. But it works, because he is the one trying to unravel the mystery at the same time as the reader, the mystery of what secret his wife is keeping from him.
The FMC works as an event planner which was an interesting choice given the plot of the book. There is some discussion of how she can "ruin" the customers who cross her with technological warfare, which I wish we'd seen more in action. She also has an assistant/receptionist that gives me serious Veronica Mars vibes and I am here for it.
In addition to the main mystery of the wife's secret, there is a side mystery within the securities company that involves the assassins being set up and targeted by someone within the company. That is a unique way to bring in the exposition about how the company was founded, how they are trained, and the guidelines they follow.
One thing I greatly appreciated was that the mystery of the wife's secret was not dragged out, it was investigated and determined in a believable manner. Which left plenty of time to address the fallout of that secret as well as give the opportunity for split POV. I cannot express enough how grateful I was for the interlude explaining in further detail to the reader the wife's history that led to the secret she was keeping and that after that we got some of her POV.
But then the side mystery becomes the main mystery as things take an even more dangerous turn. At this point the book basically is a runaway train all the way to the end. Since this is book one of a duet there is a bit of a cliffhanger.

I have been a follower of Delanie Grimes/ R.R. Carter on TikTok for a while, so when I saw that she branched out from fantasy to write a dark romance, I had to get my hands on it! Let me tell you I was not disappointed.
F*ck Marry Kill follows the perfect psychopath, Kage Wilde. He is the textbook definition of psychopathy, and while that may sound like he would be an unlikable character, it is anything but for one simple reason: Sable Fox. Better known as Sable Wilde, Kage's wife, whom he is absolutely and utterly OBSESSED with. His thirst for this woman reaches new heights when he gets an inkling that she is hiding something from him, and he risks everything, from his job to the very marriage to the woman he would rather die than live without, to learn the truth.
This book was the most delicious and twisted rollercoaster I have ever been on. I had to take several days to comprehend and reflect on it because the ending left me in the fetal position with an ugly crying face for at least an hour after I had read the last page.
It's very obvious early on that Kage is clearly not like other men because of his job at Wilde Securities, but that is pushed further by his brutality and lack of empathy for everyone around him except Sable. I would go as far as to say this man has a photographic memory, and when he notices two things out of place, or rather missing. It launches him into a full-blown investigation of his wife. They have lived three years in a haze of lust, not reaching further than that to learn that each partner is hiding HUGE secrets.
The way Delanie Grimes laid out the plot had my mind turning. I was constantly wondering what would happen next when Kage learned that someone within Wilde Security was setting up their top agents. Although it seems like a classic case of who did it, it isn't. You don't know who Kage can trust, which makes this book tantalizing. I wasn't able to put this book down until I finished Part One. Part two jumps into Sable's point of view, and we learn about her tragic backstory and why she's so secretive and ruthless.
The juxtaposition of a husband who feels nothing for everyone around him and a wife who feels everything so strongly sounds like a recipe for disaster, but it makes a beautiful, bloody masterpiece. She knows of Kage's psychopathy and uses that to understand and explain things to him. Even though these two are sick, twisted, and brutal individually, together, there is a softness and a love that blossoms from harsh realities and even harsher punishments from those who want to abuse them. They have found a safe place with each other to be who they are without judgment and a reverent love that runs so deeply that it makes normal romance and love seem weak. The author takes two people deemed by society to be horrendous and makes you fall in love with their love, and that is incredible!
Now, on to the spice! HOLY SHIT! It was amazing, and Kage has a filthy mouth that would drive any woman insane, and I mean that in the BEST possible way. The way this man is devoted to satisfying his woman is something all men should aspire to LOL. He worships her in every way he can, and she knows it. They are both driven by this insatiable need to please each other, which creates an explosive sexual experience for them both. Seriously, though, take notes; this is how to have peak sexual tension and satisfaction in book characters, and I loved it! Just one more... IYKYK
Kudos to Delanie Grimes on her first dark romance! This book was an easy five-star for me, and I couldn't find anything I would change personally. It was the perfect balance of romance, dark, twisted themes, action, and spice, with characters that all offered a variety of personalities that made this book fantastic.

It was definitely an interesting read, out the get-go. It was giving Mr. & Mrs. Smith vibes, with a dark twist and I was here for it. If you are a fan of book boyfriend Zane, then Kage is going to easily become a favorite. I for one like him better. I said what I said.. This one is spicy and it is Graphic. So please dive into the triggers before reading anything else.
Despite the spice and overly hot characters, I thoroughly enjoyed how the plot shined through. The twists and turns that lead up to a jaw dropping cliffhanger. I was gasping by the last sentence and really need to have book 2 asap!
This book deserves more hype, like it should be up there with Haunting Adeline. It was that good.
Can you give a book a 12/10 rating? The way Delanie Grimes sinks her teeth into you with this one is UNREAL! If you think Zaddy Zane in the cat and mouse duet was top notch wait until you meet Kage Wilde! He is the ultimate ill let the world burn just to keep her safe book. “I’d Steal the air from every lung in existence to keep you breathing!" First off his nickname for his wife *swoon* You start reading the book for Kage and his dark and twisty ways, but the teeth get really get sunk sunk in with Sable. The plot twists and cliff hanger...... Mr. Murder and Lady Slaughter are my favorite read of the entire year!
Do you like plot twists, cliffhangers, stalker behavior and a husband OBSESSED with his wife??? Well than this is the books for you. Delanie takes you on a JOURNEY. This unending wild ride will have you flipping pages so fast you’ll have to take breaks just to stay in the story longer. Kage and Sable are perfection and their love is truly the best to read. “We shine a light on the dark parts now” is my favorite quote from this book and it is amazing. This book is fabulous and you should read it. FYI the TW is a page long and it’s a dark romance so if you aren’t into that, this ain’t the book for you. However, if it’s dark and spicy that you like, go read it now!!
I have been waiting to get my hands on this book for a while and it DID. NOT. DISAPPOINT.
FMK follows Kage and Sable Wilde. Just your regular average married couple. Except Kage is a Psychotic Serial Killer who is OBSESSED with his wife. The best part is, his wife doesn’t know. But Mrs. Sable is keeping secrets of her own that only fuel Kage’s obsession. Get ready to go on an absolutely unhinged journey. In the best way possible. I need book two ASAP!
The story was so so good. Dark romance, truly morally grey characters. Kage is, (well imagine if a himbo was a psychopath,) a deliciously well rounded MC. I just love dark men written by women. This book was yummy, read the whole thing in pretty much one sitting (only paused to sleep) and the cliff hanger? I literally can't wait for the next book
I do not write book reviews often, but for this one, I had to. The dynamic is soooo good. I both love and hate (mostly love though), Dealanie, for leaving this on a cliffhanger. Torturer! The twists and turns had me audibly gasping. Cannot wait for the next book.
Wow. I just finished and I am sitting here thinking what the fuck just happened. This book has me all over the place and I have been telling anyone I can to pick this book up. Loved it from start to finish. The banter and the inner monologue is enough to make you think long and hard about yourself. This is a wonderful book to just lose yourself in.
I received this as an ARC and I am very impressed. This is Delanie Grimes’ debut dark romance/spicy book and she delivered! Please read the triggers though before you embark upon this thriller like ride.
Kage and Sable are perfectly matched for each other. Even though a quiz in Cosmo would probably tell her to leave his psychopathic sexy ass, she stays…because she sees a little bit of herself in him too.
It is quite a ride and I definitely hope it reaches more dark romance lovers bookshelves because I want to nerd out with someone about Kage!! Oh and Harper!!
4.5 stars because it started off slow but I ended up loving it. Kage Wilde is completely unhinged with touch her and get unalived vibes which I love. If you’re into super dark spicy romances than this book is for you
This book has a very interesting plot line Kage is a serial professional killer who is obsessed with his wife who has no idea of his killings. I enjoyed reading this book it was a really good dark romance.
This book left my jaw on the floor!! The cliffhanger? *chefs kiss* I can't wait for book two to come out!
If you love a morally black MMC and a morally grey FMC this book is for you!! Just a couple of married killers that didn't know their spouse was also killing😂
As always, please check trigger warnings before reading.
100% genius. 100% the shit. 100% screaming. 100% crying. 100% throwing the fuck up. 100% obsessed! I would sell my soul to be able to read this for the first time again.
Not the kind who got rejected by a girl and lost what little mind he had to begin with; but the trained from age eight variety. The type who is contracted to eliminate targets without hesitation.
DNF. Spent more than 50 pages in the beginning just explaining the MMC's family's company, academy, and serial killer dynamics, and it was almost all internal monologue. I don't care anymore at that point, but I pushed on for a while longer and regretted it.
This is DARK and somewhat gruesome. Kage is about one shade away from being morally black, but I kinda agree with the reasons he does what he does. The obsession is real and the spice is spicy!
I was not at all sure about this one going in. The title made me a little curious and I was not disappointed. I really liked this one. It had a great plot. And Kage is yumolicious!
