In the heart of Africa, a storm is brewing. Can one man prevent a war that could consume the world?
Tribal and ethnic tensions are on the brink of erupting into full-blown conflict in the East African nation of Numbani. As one faction maintains a tenuous grip on power, another is desperate to overthrow it, aided by illegal arms pouring in from an unknown source.
The secret arm of the CIA—Penumbra Division—sends their top operative, Adam Knight, to uncover the truth. Scarred by battles past, Knight faces the critical Does he still have what it takes to navigate the complex world of deception?
On the scorching sands of Numbani, Knight finds an unexpected ally in Genevieve Imara, a determined local striving for justice. Imara seeks the masterminds behind a series of brutal attacks on civilian villages, but her quest soon draws her deep into the heart of a new civil war. Together, they confront battle-hardened warlords, a ruthless assassin, and a cabal of wealthy elites playing a lethal game.
As the situation spirals, the duo must navigate a treacherous maze of peril and deceit. With every move, they draw nearer to uncovering a conspiracy that threatens global stability. Can they dismantle the deadly plot before it's too late, or will they become just another statistic in a grim tally of casualties?
If the high-octane narratives of Tom Clancy, Lee Child, Robert Ludlum, Vince Flynn, and Ian Fleming keep you turning pages late into the night, then prepare to be engrossed by the world of Adam Knight.
As in the first book it is rather similar to a Bond style thriller, it is very readable and enjoyable entertainment but lacks a bit in real grit and excitement. Adam Knight is like a gentleman who can turn in a flash, get things done and come out brushing himself down straightening his tie and carrying on to the next problem. He works for a covert team called 'Penumbra Division' where all their actions must remain completely silent. He is sent to an African country called Numbani where there is civil unrest. The USA have pulled out their peace keeping forces and they hope that Knight can find some intelligence on why and how troubles have restarted. He finds an unexpected ally in Genevieve Imara (a very likeable character) when he finds himself in a lot of trouble. After that they find themselves involved in a plot that will not only destroy Numbani but possibly the rest of the world and it is up to them to stop it. Like I said entertaining stuff but Sam Cogley will have to wind the grit and excitement up a few notches to to be a 5/5 but I will still be reading the next book. This time another 4/5.
This is the second in the Adam Knight thrillers and it delivers an enhanced edge of your seat experience from book one. Adam Knight, a member of a secret division of the CIA called Penumba is dispatched on missions too difficult to resolve using other means. Knight meets Genevieve Imara who wants to get to the bottom of why local villages in Numbani are being raided and razed. Who and what is behind these attacks and why. The investigation of these attacks soon leads to the discovery of corruption in private enterprises and government and leading to a much bigger conspiracy. The more Knight and Genevieve look into this, the more they become targets of those with considerable investments that are just about to come to fruition.
The audiobook is brilliantly narrated and Cogley has written this story so that it gets you questioning and wondering just how much is fiction and how much is drawn from real life.
I enjoyed this book so much, I immediately started book three in the Adam Knight series and couldn't wait to get started on the next adventure.
I enjoyed this thrilling roller coaster ride through three continents, and the slow reveal of a much more involved and nefarious plot compared to Knight's original assignment. Add in an accidental but like-minded partner in this race against time, and I was left at the edge of my seat throughout.
I'm usually cautious about starting a series a book or more in, but not in the case of Skyfire. I had no problem getting to know Adam Knight and get straight into the action without needing the full back story from volume 1. Kudos to Sam Cogley for allowing readers to jump right in!
With that said, I've purchased Shadow Operative since Skyfire proved to me this up and coming series is worth getting caught up on. Looking forward to volume 3 and beyond!

Despite not having read the first book, I enjoyed this novel by Sam Cogley. I found the plot thrilling, suspenseful, and well-written. The main character, Adam Knight, felt three-dimensional, avoiding the stereotypical and one-note qualities often found in action-driven storylines. This novel had a great mix of both plot and character development. I plan to read the first book to understand more of this character's backstory since character development is just as important to me as the plot. Easy 5 stars.
What a fantastic read. This was a book i couldn’t put down. An action packed roller coaster ride that leaves you breathless. Knight is one of the best heroes yet, with a conscience to do what’s right driving him, he puts it all on the line to stop the evil before it hurts more innocent lives. I loved it. Must read!.

I read the first book of Mr. Adam Knight's intro to the literary world. And I'll just say that this book made for a phenomenal sequel. There are twists and turns, you think you have everything figured out but then you're thrown a curve ball. This kept my attention and had me at the edge of my seat. If you're an action buff, then read this book!.

Love the character, Adam Knight. Love his attitude, thinking and resolve. Great how the descriptive narrative by the Author puts you there from the Prologue. Couldn't put it down as wanted to know what happens next. Looking forward to reading the next chapter in the life of the Protagonist.
This was an adventure and Adam Knight is a great operative. The story had serious mayhem and chaos to keep you on the edge of your seat. Knight's ghostly partner, Imara kicks the action and thrills up to a new level. Both Knight and Imara working to take down enemies.
Sam Cogley crafted another strong adventure for Adam Knight. This is a page turner that keeps the reader on the edge of their seat wondering what around the next corner. Looking forward to the third book.
Bit of a globe trot this one, Adam has a partner in crime most of the book who equally skilled. What's good about these books he's not super awesome, he gets caught, tortured and suffers. Descriptive writer
A bit of romance. Lots of adventure. So much evil. A bit of something for the fellow adventure seekers. Some sections were a bit stilted. Hmm possibly AI generated. Still I enjoyed the story.
I am really enjoying this spy series so far. I hope Mr. Cogley has more books for us! The plot is well-paced and each piece is connected with a reason.
This book has some interesting speculations about what a satellite in space might be capable of doing. It all depends on who controls it. And therein lies the problem.
