Shane
I’ve been in love with Zeke for years. He’s my best friend—the man of my dreams—but I’m afraid to confess my feelings. What’s more, if I’m with Zeke I could lose everything I’ve worked for. I don't want to have to choose between my family and Zeke or the career I’ve been working towards for the past decade. I had resolved to keep my feelings to myself, but too much alcohol loosened my lips and the truth came tumbling out. I fear my drunken admission will ruin everything.

Zeke
There’s something coming for the Devil’s Mayhem that has the potential to bring the club to its knees. Is now the best time to consider a future with Shane? He’s my best friend and has been for years, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t taken notice of him. Mixing business and pleasure is a bad idea, right? Especially when someone is after the MC, intent on seeing our downfall.

The Enforcer is a best friends to lovers, interracial dating, opposites attract, motorcycle club book. It contains dark themes, murder, violence, high heat, and a wonderful HEA. It is book two in the Devil's Mayhem MC series. It can be read as a standalone, but is best enjoyed after The Convict.

’’I love you too,’’ I finally tell him, after years of pining and feeling like I would never be able to tell him my true feelings.
‘’I’ve been in love with you for years.’’
Ever the smartass, Zeke says, ‘’I know, Counselor.’’

Reading was so much fun! First book of the year and its a win. Lawwwwwrrrrddd, Shane is bbc worshipper through and through. Hot and heartwarming. A bestfriends to lovers storyline. Would give 5 stars if it was a slow burn because the material for a slow burn romance is right there. As a bonus, when I was reading this book, all I could think about is this Tiktok video of Aaron Pierre slowly dancing while his crew/team chants ‘Mufasa’ loudly lmao. Greatly added to my reading experience.

Please note that this is a revised review as of December 1, 2024.

The Enforcer is the second book in RS McKenzie's Devil's Mayhem MC series. Although this could probably be read as a standalone, I think it would be better enjoyed in order of the series. Here's what you can expect from Zeke and Shane:

🏍️ MM motorcycle club romance
🏍️ First person dual point of view
🏍️ Guaranteed happily ever after
🏍️ Club Enforcer and Lawyer
🏍️ Interracial couple
🏍️ Friends to lovers
🏍️ Opposites attract
🏍️ Sharing

As always, ensure you review the content and trigger warnings to decide if this book is right for you. Note that this list of warnings and triggers may be incomplete. Please take care of yourself while reading. The author also reminds readers to suspend their disbelief while reading, as some of the things that take place in this work of fiction may be outside the realm of possibility.

I knew once I read The Prez that I had to go back and visit one of my favourite book couples of the year, Shane and Zeke. I figured it was a great time to tidy up my review in the process. For those that have read The Convict, we get some ✨vibes✨ from Zeke and Shane throughout. Although we don't know Shane very well in that book, his loyalty to the club is unprecedented. And Zeke is such a fun side character in Finn and Rax's story, and his book essentially picks up where there's leaves off. For readers who were fans of Finn and Rax's tumultuous love story, don't worry, we get to catch up with them in Cuba. And let me tell you, in Cuba, it's not just the weather that's steamy. The spicy scene with Finn, Rax, Zeke, and Shane on their final night in Havana was absolutely phenomenal. The closeness of the four of them only highlights the beauty of their individual relationships and connections.

I really loved this book (obviously, ha). I was concerned because Shane and Zeke do get together earlier than a lot of romance books. Luckily, you don't have to worry about a third act breakup here. I appreciated that the conflict in The Enforcer came from outside of their relationship. Really, they became more solid (and adorable) as a couple as the plot continued. Although Zeke is deadly, he's also hilarious. It's so sweet how much he cares for Shane and wants to make him happy. Shane is a really interesting character, too. He never expected his law career to include a morally grey motorcycle club keeping him on retainer, but he now loves them like they're his own blood. An underlying theme in this book was balance. Zeke had to balance his obligation and responsibilities to the club that raised him while working through his feelings for Shane. Everyday, Shane had to skirt the already blurry lines between representing the club and trying to make partner at his law firm. At the end of the day, I love this couple together and this was one of my favourite reads of 2024. I already know it'll be an easy re-read for me. I love the different takes that authors put on motorcycle club romances, and I really enjoy the world that RS McKenzie has created here.

I don't know why I struggling with this book, maybe it was because the whole premise was about this relationship and both were worried about the other not having feelings, but it was the most insta love situation I've ever seen. Very cute but I felt like the book lacked a main plot point and direction. Some of the sentence structure was very formal and hard to get past as well (i.e. 'I have not' vs 'I havent' in spoken conversations).

The foursome scene came out of nowhere and like, did y'all want to talk about boundaries, hard limits, anything before you started? No? Okay. It was sweet how the second time they help Shane overcome some of his insecurities with his body- we love to see that 🙌.

For all that is good and holy, from a nurse, please, if you are with someone who has severe burns and their clothing is stuck to them DO NOT TRY TO REMOVE IT. I literally could not get past that.

I need Prez's story IMMEDIATELY. I'm too deep in this series to stop now.

I was very hyped up for this book but however I just felt no attachment for the characters or the storyline. I think because the friendship was already established and then we really quickly went into the relationship. I'm not sure however I just felt bored of the couple and the storyline. I didn't even really care for whe Raz and Finn showed up. I liked some bits but overall it was okay.

I had been waiting for Shane & Zeke since The Convict and they did not disappoint 🥰 Their relationship is a lot sweeter than Finn & Rax (I loved them too though!) I loved the way they cared for each other & how attentive they were. Zeke constantly popped up on him at office & made sure he ate. Shane rode hard for Zeke & the whole club! I enjoyed seeing their relationship blossom from just friends to boyfriends. They knew what they wanted & went for it. They were open and honest with each other from the jump (no miscommunication 🙌🏾) Shane & Zeke have my heart ❤️ & I can’t wait for Prez!

I received an ARC from GRR. All thoughts and opinions are honest & my own

Loved it

Shane has known Zeke for 8 years after representing Zeke’s best friend Rax. After losing the case he thought the MC would make him pay but they put him on retainer but more than that Shane knew he’d found his family in them all . He’s pined after Zeke not knowing Zeke was doing the same not wanting to ruin their friendship until one drunken night when Shane word vomits all his feelings to Zeke . I really enjoyed Zeke and Shane’s story and the scenes with Rax and Finn were steaming hot and i can’t wait for Prez’s book .

This is the second book in the Devil's Mayhem series with Shane the MC's lawyer and Zeke , their enforcer. Packed with the usual hijinks, illegal activity, violence and bloodshed, it also contains spicy scenes and consensual poly activity involving both MCs. Even though they are bad boys, you can't help but be drawn into their business. I received a copy of this book through Gay Romance Reviews and this is my honest opinion.

Shane and Zeke!

I loved seeing Shane and Zeke giving into their feelings for one another. These two seemingly opposite personalities mashed together so well that they seemed like two halves of one whole. This was a really great continuation in this series!

story of Zeke and Shane

This is a best friends to more dark romance, featuring Zeke and Shane, and is book two in the Devil’s Mayhem MC series.

Zeke and Shane have been friends for almost a decade, since Shane defended Rax (book 1) in court. Their relationship is very sweet, they have been crushing on each other for years and one drunken night has Shane blurting his feelings. Zeke saw that as a green light the next day, and Shane and Zeke jump into a relationship - YAY!

This book does have some dark topics, read the CW before jumping in. There is also some beautiful moments between these two and they are there for each other no matter what. There is also a very spicy share scene in Cuba.

This series is a little darker than my go-to books but I am really enjoying it.

Things to expect in this book are:
Book 2 in series
MM dark romance
Check CW
Best friends to more
Enforcer x Lawyer
Long term crushes
Hot bikers
All in
Spicy times & Dirty Talk
Possessive
Sharing 🔥
DRAMA
Hurt / Comfort

Get ready to blush with book 2 of the Devil's Mayhem series - it's packed with steamy scenes that will leave you breathless.
Zeke and Shane are one of my favorite couples, folks! I love how they started out as best friends and then took the plunge - it's like they're proving that true love can conquer all, even years of unrequited feelings. Shane's slip-up after a night of drinking is the catalyst Zeke needs to confess his own feelings, and from there, it's a wild ride. We even get a sexy little reunion with Rax and Finn because this book is just that good! In the end, Zeke and Shane get their happily ever after, and it's the sweetest thing ever - dog and all.

Here's R.S. McKenzie's "The Enforcer." It's the second book in her Devils Mayhem MC series. The first one was dark and glorious; this one didn't disappoint.

["Shane

One: Drunk Shane?!? Fucking adorable. Booping a MC on the nose? Forcing Zeke to play with his hair?? "They weren't you"??? D: I can't. I'm done. I'm dead. (so is Zeke--metaphorically)

Two: Scorched-earth Zeke?!? Just when I though loved-up, romantic Zeke was cute as hell. Then you get fuck-with-me-and-find-out Zeke?!?!?? Holy hell. I'm done. I'm dead. (so is [Redacted]--literally).

Three: LOOOOOOVE that we got to see some of Finn and Rax again. I mean, fucking hell. That scene?! I need a fan and some water.

Four: Prez's story is next?!?!? End me now. I won't be able to handle that.

Trigger Warnings: violence, murder, torture, and more.

Wow total brilliant
Firstly, let me say I got this from Gay Romance Reviews and this is me leaving my honest review.
Wow, totally blown away. I was so looking forward to this book after finishing the convict and it was great to see them in this book but Really Zeke and Shane are just lush. These two have been best friends for a long time. They met when Shane was the lawyer that was working on his best friends Rax’s case. Shane has been a retainer for devils, mayhem MC ever since. Both of these men have feelings for one another, but are scared because they don’t want to do anything that could ruin their friendship. one night they out for drinks with Shane and a few guys from the MC. He gets rather drunk and Zeke decides to take him home. Drunk Shane starts talking and asking for him to stroke his hair and letting the enforcer Zeke know that Shane has been attracted to him for a very long time. The next day Shane wakes with the worst hangover, but remembering everything he said to Zeke, and was dreading looking into his best friends eyes. But Zeke has everything under control.
Wow, these two in love, my heart is bursting. They both showed in unique ways. Zeke can’t do enough for Shane. Always popping up to check on him, to see him, to kiss him.and wink wink so much more. It just made my heart burst. There are so many tender moments for Keke and Shane. And let’s get on with the passion because OMG these two are electric they are both live wires. Of course we have normal activities with the Mc but with Shane and Keke working together nothing can stop them, the Mc is here to stay.
And OMG it’s the Prez next so looking forward to that book!

🔥🏍️The Enforcer // Devil's Mayhem MC 2 // RS McKenzie🏍️🔥

RS McKenzie has quickly become a must read for me! I loved book 1, The Convict, so much, I was curious how book 2 would compare…And did it ever! Best friends to lovers isn’t always my favorite trope… But I love how RS McKenzie captured the heat and pining with Zeke and Shane!

While being a best friend to lovers story, this dark romance held all its dark excitement through the motorcycle club drama and our morally gray MCs!

Don’t even get me started on that spice. This is hands down some of the hottest smut I’ve read in a LONG TIME! Oof! I’m talking High Heat and GOOD HEAT!

I have been waiting for Zeke and Shane since The Convict, I loved them then and I think I loved them even more.

For being the club's enforcer, Zeke is such a softy when it comes to Shane. He was constantly showing up for Shane in so many different ways to show that he cared. Zeke did anything for the club but he finally put his happiness above it and put Shane above everything else.

From the first time that Shane represented the club with Rax, he found a family with them and ensured that his family stayed together and out of trouble, no matter what. I loved how these two finally expressed their feelings and had great communication.

These two loved so hard! I was hoping more guys from the club would get a book and I'm excited that Prez is next, I'm really interested to see the way his story will play out.

4.5 stars, Zeke has known Shane, the MC lawyer, for years, they are friends. For a while, he’s aware there are feelings, but Zeke doesn’t want to lose Shane, imagine when this is not working.

Shane has been in love with Zeke for eight years, but never acted on it, Zeke is his best friend, and doesn’t want to lose him.

After a drunk confession from Shane about his feelings for Zeke, they have to have a talk.
They did talk and did way more than that, pfff they are hot together.

Club business comes first, for both Zeke and Shane, and dang there are a lot of businesses to rule.
The police get tips about illegal activities at the Club.
There are forces that want to shut down the Club.
No way! our guys will do everything to prevent this!

Besides the business matters, we get some insight into both men’s lives.
There’s a lot story about business btw, necessary dangerous, and all super entertaining!

This story was not as dark as the previous one. They are quite sappy with each other. Still, we deal here with morally grey people, who are not afraid to use violence or deal with drugs.
Zeke and Shane are crazy about each other and show it to the world.
The Convict and The Enforcer are nicely paired with each other. Did you know the next one is about Prez?, OMG can’t wait to read his story!

Shane and Zeke have been best friends for years. Also, they are so in love with each other but everybody around them can see it. But they don’t see it and they don’t act on it. Throughout the book, you see them, trusting, and themselves to tell the other how they feel about one another. They don’t have misunderstandings at all in this book. That’s amazing. I like their friendship right away in this book. I also like how close they are with one another. Shane doesn’t really get involved with his parents or brother. So I like how the brothers and the Prez are his family and they accept him as one of them.Zeke really never shares what’s going on in his had it with anyone he only shares it with Shane. Growing up in the MC life because of his father, and all throughout his life, he wanted to be like him. When is two are together they have so many funny moments. I like the fact that they support one another and believe in one another’s dreams. Also, there are so many spicy parts in this book that are so amazing. You get to the both of them and then you also get the sharing between them. I like how both of them are strong to stand up for what they want in their lives. And also how they stand up for the people they care about. I can’t wait to read about Prez in the next book.

Okay, WOW.
Let's talk about an amazing friends to lovers book that is for anyone who loves MM, a little violence, and a lot of love between friends.
Shane and Zeke have been friends for quite a few years despite having a bit of a rocky start to their friendship when Shane represented a friend of Zeke's, another man also from the MC they belong to. But that's the first book of the series, so if you're interested, you should definitely go read it. ;)
ANYWAYS. Shane and Zeke are kind of opposites attract; friendship focused because they don't want to lose the relationship they have until a drunken confession takes it to the next level. Thank the lord because the two had chemistry that was going to stink up the air around them until they either got together or somehow stopped being friends.
I do love how we get a better insight to Shane and his job as a lawyer in the firm is stressful, and all consuming. So many late nights there. Turns out he would be much better off elsewhere, because holy moly his boss is sooo rude. No spoilers here, but initially he's not bad until he puts his foot in his mouth.
And talk about spicy! WOOH.
10/10 recommend! I can't wait for book 3 though with the Prez.. That's going to be a good one!

4.5 ⭐️ Yep. I really didn’t *see* it when I read who the couple for this book was & I certainly didn’t think that they would top Rax & Finn but boy, let me tell you… I was so wrong! This couple starts up pretty quickly & I fell for them just as fast. Yes, there are some errors in the book & yes, there are periods throughout where the book is a lot heavier on the smut and/or romance than action or plot but let me say this with my whole chest - I do not fucking care! I smiled so much reading this. So many lines had me giggling & grinning. I adore Zeke & Shane!!! And the spice was *chefs kiss* TOP NOTCH! And considering the next book is for Prez, I’m so glad we got more of him here. I’m curious to see who his partner is. I’m assuming the guy mentioned in the epilogue but I’m (maybe) stupidly hoping for Tucker! 🤞🏻 Either way, I already know it’ll be good because I’m loving Prez so far. I really enjoyed getting more Finn in this book. He’s a doll & I think Shane really needed him. I’m honestly… rambling because I just finished this & I’m still on a giddy lil high lmao. This books was a short, spicy, feel good read & I needed it so much right now. I ate it up & am licking the crumbs off of my plate!

I was waiting for this one with bated breath, cause I absolutely loved Zeke in book 1 and also because I'm really loving what RS McKenzie is doing with this series. And let me tell you, the author did not disappoint.

This was just as good as book 1. Zeke and Shane were super cute and sexy together. They have been best friends for 7 years and secretly pining for eachother but couldn't come clean about their feelings due to Zeke's responsibilities to the club, Shane's job, their different backgrounds and list goes on. But unlike other friends-to-lovers stories, Zeke and Shane actually get together fairly early in the book. And the rest of the story shows us how they function as a couple and how great their chemistry is. And I had a great time with.

Also the spice in this book is off the charts. That group sex scene....MY GOD.....that scene  is living rent free in my brain. It literally might be one of the best sex scenes I have ever read.
I also really enjoyed Rax and Finn in this one. Looking forward to Prez's book.

I loved the first book in the series and this one was also excellent! One of my favorite aspects is the gritty MC atmosphere. The author accomplishes some really well done world building that is filled with complex and intriguing characters. It’s well done and makes this a fun and absorbing read. I loved the focus on mystery side of the plot, uncovering the threat to the club was an excellent contrast to the crazy sweet romance going on between Zeke and Shane. Zeke was such a standout in Rax and Finn’s story, I was happy to see more from him. Shane and Zeke are kind of opposite but both are dedicated to keeping the Devil’s Mayhem Club safe, and the author gives them some really good villains in captain Matthews and Kirk which kept me turning the pages. Shane and Zeke are absolutely fantastic together, their differences complement each other, and their chemistry is epic. I’m really enjoying the characters in this series, I cannot wait for the next one!

'I have to make it work. More than anything else, I don’t want Shane out of my life. I want him with me all the time. I want him. I claim him. I’ll figure out how to make sure he stays with me for the long haul.
No matter what it takes.'

I loved this book. Great world building and wonderful characters. I really loved the MC members, the close bond between them, and how they bantered with each other and gossiped. I loved both Shane and Zeke. Already close friends- both wanting the other for years- and it's not until Shane gets a little too drunk and tells Zeke how he really feels that Zeke knows they can have more than friendship. The chemistry between them was scorching. I liked that they established their new relationship about 22% into the book instead of dancing around it or dragging it out. It was also funny how the other MC brothers were waiting (and betting) on when they would finally get together. And the scene with Rax and Finn was a deliciously hot surprise! Can't wait for Prez's book. 5 stars

Uuuggh I loved this one so much!! This series has me in a chokehold right now!!

I was so excited for Shane and Zeke’s story after what we got from them together and their personalities individually, in The Convict. This book absolutely did not disappoint. They were the perfect balance together.

I was pleasantly surprised with how the progression of this story turned out. Shane and Zeke get together really early on in the book and they have tons of communication and history that makes them solid. So I wasn’t sure how the story would continue but RS McKenzie did it perfectly, I never found myself bored! Their story was perfect with their past and this plot line had so many elements that helped it progress and staying engaging!

I also loved how unique this plot line was from the first one while still having some carry over elements — like we get to see Rax and Finn (in a particularly hot scene I might add 🔥)

I’m definitely hopping right into the next book, I can’t put this world and the characters away!

This story was really really sweet. The spice was incredible, super top notch, but I did find that maybe there was just one or two too many spicy scenes for my liking. A few times I just wanted to carry on with the story. I think the plot line was good but not as strong as book one. It was not super surprising who was ratting them out and there didn’t seem to be as high of stakes as the first book. However, the relationship between Shane and Zeke was incredible. I absolutely loved that they were open and honest with each other, and once they got together they were strong and solid throughout the entire book, which honestly is what I would’ve expected from two best friends of eight years who just confessed their love for one another. I think this was a completely appropriate use of no third act break up.

I will for sure be checking out Prez’s story when it comes out. Outside of a bit of violence that seems slightly gratuitous to me, I very much enjoy this author’s writing.

After reading "The Convict" (book #1) in the Devil's Mayhem MC series, I had to get into book #2 "The Enforcer" straight away. I had already liked Shane and Zeke from the first book and was keen to find out more about their attraction to each other that was hinted at toward the end of the first book. I loved how tipsy Shane finally comes out that he had a loved Zeke for 8 years and Zeke admits his own feelings for Shane. Then we get to watch the development of their relationship along the progression of the story around the Devil's Mayhem MC and their dealings. Shane has to work through his career options when his bosses don't like the company he keeps, and Zeke has to cope with - yeah - what happens to Shane in the third quarter when a night club is set alight. I can't give more info other than there is a HEA and it's lovely. Especially because we meet our friends Rax and Finn from book #1 again in a very special way.
