Set in the North East of England, Complex Heaven is a psychological supernatural thriller that tells the story of a troubled soul tormented by the anguish of his distraught son. Called back from the Afterlife, father of two Richard, is concerned about the mental welfare of his youngest son JJ. There is a suspicion that somehow JJ is connected to the death of a young girl called Rose in Washington. The mystery however, is much more complicated as Richard finally confronts the evil that has been preying on his family for generations. A suffering that forces Richard back to the world of the living where the answers to some of the darkest moments of his life are waiting.
I really enjoyed this brilliant, psychological supernatural book, once started I could not put it down. Set in the Sunderland area this book is compelling and so imaginatively descriptive it will have you hooked at the first chapter. Living in Sunderland myself it's always great to read a book set in your home town and being able to relate to those areas. When reading "Complex Heaven" you can really feel Richards true life feelings and emotions buried in the story, something I'm sure he wanted to achieve from the reader - he certainly succeeded in my opinion. There's so much more to come from the very talented Richard Valanga and I wait with bated breath for "Complex Hell" and "Complex Shadows". Well done on a fantastic story Richard keep up the good work!
