Understanding Project Management

Rate this book
Project management is an organization and resource management methodology that has developed over multiple centuries and has been reinvented with the last 75 years with the positive technological gains that are constantly being made internationally. Henry Gantt, a mechanical engineer and management consultant within the United States during the early 1900s, often receives honors and credit for modern project management. Gantt produced a chart that allowed individuals within a project to view progression, a schedule that established each stage in the project, and showcases how much work was left before project completion. Technological advances in industries such as computers have significantly impacted the way project management is viewed. The following paper will define a project, discern each project life cycle stage, and show how project management is used to accomplish tasks.

I work in product and build apps as a hobby.

My latest project is Leafed, a privacy-first book discovery app born from a simple frustration: why should recommendation engines trade your reading habits for algorithms?

Leafed keeps your data where it belongs, on your device. No accounts, no tracking. Just you and your next great read.

I also write Product Party, a newsletter where I share insights on building better products and navigating the tech world.

When I'm not building or writing, I support nonprofits focused on education, community resources, and civic engagement. I believe technology should empower people, not exploit them.

Always hunting for my next book recommendation. What's yours?
