update #1 to specify: the author confirmed the cover "art" is AI generated.
do whatever you may with this info, or not.

i wish to add that AI "art" is unethical and considered stealing/theft which i do not support, therefore this author/book is on my "problematic-and/or-AI" shelf.

update #2: i've just found out that all of this author's audiobooks are labeled AI "virtual voice"... plus they have some AI translations as well...

i'm just gonna leave here some thought-provoking sentiments shared by others (including readers & authors) that i totally agree with regarding AI in the bookish world:
📣 "why would i waste my time and energy on a book that no one else bothered with to take their time and energy to write and create"
📣 "authors using AI for their cover is such hypocrisy - AI "art" is theft/piracy. it's just as problematic as plagiarism and book piracy"
📣 "if the cover is made with AI why should i assume the writing isn't as well. AI covers are red flags🚩"
📣 "AI translations are disrespectful to whole cultures, besides often unintelligible and like a word salad so with these bad translations native readers who buy them are also financially ripped off (often bc KU or such services aren't available in their countries)"
📣 "AI audiobooks are unethical & disrespectful to real voice actors/narrators"
📣 #supportrealartists #supporthumancreativity

[ if anyone notices me reading a book that had any "help" from AI (be that the cover "art", the writing itself, the audiobook, the translation, anything..) *please* feel free to warn me!♡ i try my best to avoid any AI content but i'm only human & sometimes it's easy to miss unfortunately.. ]

I voluntarily read an ARC for this book. I love how you get to stay with Tyler and Kalistratos and get to know them for more than 1 book. I hate how we have to wait to see what will happen. There are also so many unanswered questions about other characters and what will happen to them. I loved when Kalistratos has to figure out what he can and can't do on earth and how he reacts to and what he calls things that are normal for humans. It also shows you just how hard English is to learn as a language for non-native speakers! I can't wait to see how Tyler and Kalistratos will get out the mess they find themselves in.

Better But Still Weird

This is book two in the series and if you’ve read my review of the first one you know I have *opinions.* This book was just as random and insane but more entertaining than the first by far. Mainly because of the humor!

Kali-what’s-his-name finds himself earthside and his introduction to Earth ways and technology is hilarious. It saves the story by adding a lot of good humor into what is still a really insane storyline.

Look, half of this story makes zero sense. There’s a whole lot of smexy time and back and forth angst. There’s some attempts at being emotional and serious but those fall kind of flat. But the humor at least makes this book entertaining.

Will I read part three to find out what happens next? Yeah probably. Because I read this book in a few hours and it’s so ridiculous it’s kind of fun. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Middle book syndrome 😕
I didn’t love this one near as much as the first one. I don’t care about the plot point where they get transported back to Earth. Earth is boring, lol, give me a cool fantasy world please.
I need the next book now though!!

I enjoyed this a lot, and the plot thickened. I can't wait for the sequels!

One of the other highlights I enjoyed in this one that really stuck to me until the end was Jeff, ya know, Tyler's "ex". I did NOT expect Kalistratos to be so rational and mature with Jeff.

This made Kalistratos even more attractive to me. Also, him being addicted to the cola Coke was cute af.

Anyways, I do hope Jeff gets his own boo eventually, because he's actually quite an adorable geek, and just look at him:

My heart aches for Jeff T T. Again, I hope he does get his own boo eventually.

❤️Thoughts ❤️

Obsessed—that's the best word to describe how much I love this series! Book 2 picks up right where we left off, and Tyler and Kalistratos have their work cut out for them. Tyler returns to his world, only to find that Kalistratos has made it back too. Together, they’re racing against time to find their way back to their friends and to uncover the truth about the mystery pregnancy. But danger is lurking, and that shadowy figure finally steps into the light, coming after them with everything he’s got.

Just when things seem bleak, an unexpected ally appears to save the day. From there, Tyler has to dig deep and tap into his powers to protect his mate and everyone else. And, of course, we’re left on a cliffhanger, with book 3 just days away. Let the countdown begin!

Symbolism

There was a lot of symbolism in this book. In fact it almost overrode the storyline at times. Yes it added to the feeling of suspense but it did almost crossed the line of negating sanity which was no doubt what it was what it was meant to do as the main characters’ sanity was certainly being tested. For me it took the story from an epic fantasy adventure romance to a tightly written psychological thriller. While this was not what I originally expected it was still entirely enthralling and I will certainly be finishing the series because of course once again the book landed on a cliffhanger. Was there too much symbolism? That is the question. At the moment I’d say no; it was borderline but not to much, simply a tool to ratchet up the tension; I’m just not sure what sort of genre to expect when the last book is released. Time and the third book will tell.

I Still Hate Cliffhangers

Yet I’m writing another review. This one was slightly harder to get into than the first, if only because of the abrupt change in location and the need to reorient with the “real” world. The writing was still quite good and the only thing that I got hung up on was the stuff with Tyler leaving the hospital, but that’s specifically related to me having worked in a hospital ICU for a decade.

But seriously, I might have to take a step back from the series if they’re all going to end in cliffhangers. There’s honestly nothing worse than getting heavily into a WiP and then having to wait ages for new installments. (Why yes, hello old trauma, nice to see Melanie Rawn left you right where you were the last time I checked on you.)

Tyler is pulled back to Earth at the point where he left in front of a speeding car.
Tyler is pulled into a black rift and finds himself back on Earth. The problem is it is just when he left and he is in front of a sppeding car. He wakes in hospital having been dreaming of Kalistratos to find he is no longer an omega and is not pregnant. As he mourns the loss of the baby and his mate he sees a news item showing Kalistratos beating up someone in a Kermit the Frog costume.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I have to admit that mpreg is not my cup of tea, but this book was really funny and cute. There were soo many moments that made me chuckle, specially Tyler’s “Cheesus”. This book was full of humor and action. I didn’t enjoy the sex scenes, so I just skipped over them. The writing flows well and the pacing is great, which is sorta my only complaint. I wish the author would’ve waited and released the fully completed book instead of the individual sections. It gave me Ella Frank vibes. But, the book is still a great sequel and made me interested in continuing the character’s journey.

This is book 2 in the series and they must be read in order. Tyler was sent back to Earth and got hit by a car. While in the hospital, the doctors are really surprised with with his quick healing. When he was watching TV, he saw Kalistratos beating up a person in a frog suit and being arrested. He leaves the hospital and finds him. With the help of a few friends, they find the Great Phoenix and learn more of the Phoenikos. Great adventures and action follow as they try to get back home. Cannot wait to read the ne t book in the series.

Phoenix Guardians 2 offers Portal Fantasy and MM Mpreg

Although the book is excellent when read alone, it is amazingly better with the Audiobooks sound to enhance the story as the fantasy becomes real as situations and circumstances surprise the main characters as they try to escape from bad situations and through portals between universes as their love and relationship builds to the first Mpreg on Earth.

No Resolution?

This is more of a middle part, incomplete without its beginning in book 1 and its ending in (possibly) book 3 and the reader is left suspended at the end of this installment, with only a hope for more. The story arc is a bit convoluted, and not always clearly defined. The reader assumes they know the direction but the future is in shadow or undefined.

Good reading.

It's entertaining, to a certain extent distressing, and if you want to laugh at the protagonists' madness, I recommend it.
I loved it, no more words

Phoenix Chosen

A thrilling second installment that kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved it. Things heat up in this one and when all seems lost there’s always a spark of hope to light the way. I enjoyed the experiences in this one and the journey the characters took. I also enjoyed the balance of light and dark moments in the book along with plenty of steam as well.

It's a great second book in this exciting new series. Tyler is back on earth, and so is Kalistratos. But how? Book 2 is full of action, hot sex, mysteries evolving, and some mysteries resolving. Chased by the cops and dark shadow. We journey closer to the list temple.

There is still more to Kalistratos and Tyler’s story and this book gives it to us. Evil has come for Tyler and taken all that he cares for away. Now these two must find their way again but even that may not be enough! I enjoyed this part of their story and am eager to see what will happen next.

This series is very much proving to be a good palate cleanser. You don’t need to think too hard. It’s short and entertaining, and honestly Kalistratos is pretty funny. I only wish I didn’t have to wait for the next part.

Cheesus is my new favorite!

A dramatic 2nd book, for sure. Tyler has to confront his ex, Star Wars movies happen, Coca Cola and belching are discovered and some one still wants them gone.
