Another phenomenal installment in the series. I'm sooooo pissed at that last panel. He could have minded his own business instead of making that decision. I'm so tired of Navier paying the price for people's stupidity.
Nobody: Absolutely no one: Not a single soul on this Earth: Heinrey on the brink of losing it:“I’m different from Emperor Sovieshu. I’m not consumed by jealousy. My queen told me I was cute.”
Just like I suspected, the Duke Kaufman is bad news! Krista better get her dirty hands off of her dead husband’s brother. I mean, desperate much?
I'm also conflicted by Heinrey openly admitting to lying to Navier. I mean, I understand his position as a ruler and I know he truly loves her (and I still love him lol), but I wish he would be open with her in that regard and not hide that he's a "devious man."
P.S. it’s always a pleasure to see Sovieshit regretting his life choices 🥰👏🏻
I always get a little bit of whiplash when reading these volumes because of keeping up with the series digitally and it's incredible to see how much Naiver has grown in later chapters!
But rewinding and focusing on this volume, I have to say I'm sorry to every person who is ONLY reading this series physically because that was a brutal way to end this volume! I even knew what happened next, but I STILL went and read "ahead" on the WebToons app just to give myself some peace of mind because up to this point, the Grand Duke has been pretty great. I'm not shipping him with Navier (at all), but I'm thankful he looks out for her and deeply cares for her wellbeing.
HOWEVER!!
He crossed a line and was DEEPLY enraged!! I didn't do it this time when I read, but when I read the ending for the first time digitally, I jumped out of my bed and slammed my pillow against it numerous times because the shock, the betrayal, the confusion, and the misunderstanding were overwhelming!! I get jealousy can make any person do dumb things, but I'm beyond angry at his actions due to his jealousy.
Let's talk about Rashta though. You can really see her start to spiral in this volume where she is desperate to do anything and everything to affirm her place by the Emperor's side. It is frustrating and saddening to see her actions because I don't agree with so many of the things she does, but my heart ached for her and how it's obvious the Emperor is (still) deeply in love with Navier and could care less for her anymore. She didn't make good decisions, sure, but she also didn't deserve to be "cast out" in frills and riches in the way she did either.
Easily the highlight of this volume though was definitely the wedding!! Navier was STUNNING and Heinrey was dashing! Seeing their happiness and being able to be alone on their wedding night was wonderful!! Even when Rashta tried to put Navier down and mock her in front of everyone, it couldn't steal from my happiness!
As always, a very wonderful volume that left me in a constant state of emotional whiplash, but was totally worth it!
I'm catching up on this comic via Webtoon. Although it took me a moment to care for the plot, the utterly stunning art held my attention until I was totally ensnared.

I was under the impression this was the last book in the series, how wrong I was! I didn't care for what happened in the last few pages of this book which is why for me, I'll be ending the series here. I feel as though what happened in the first 90% was perfect and really wrapped up everything (except for some things here and there). This series has brought me much joy and I couldn't read them fast enough. But I feel like the author just wasn't sure how to end it and is creating needless drama just for the sake of it. I'm not personally a fan of that so I decided to google the ending instead of waiting for the books to be finished (super glad I googled it). I would 100% recommend the first 9 books!
Me reading most of this series: 🙂🥰☺️🤠 vs. me reading the last few pages of this volume: ✋🏻🤨🕵🏻♀️🚨
Thoughts (with spoilers): I thought the duke and Krista could work something out together, but not all of that. I was thinking that the duke would drink another love potion and look at Krista this time, which could’ve gone a million times better than what will probably happen now. Krista’s thing with Heinrey is so weird, too. She was married to his older brother pretty recently, and he’s very obviously not interested… 😐 Bad ideas all around from her and the duke, and not a fun plot point RIGHT after the wedding... I hope it’s resolved quickly in the next volume (hopefully later this year?) 🥲

The Krista plot was annoying from the start and it just got worse. I don’t know what the intent is with Kaufman’s story, to be honest. He just seems like a really superfluous character considering Navier is desired by 2 men already. Navier’s treatment of him also makes no sense.
Anyway, Heinrey continues to be the MVP. I wish he and Navier had better chemistry. I hope the show improves on that.
5 Stars all the way!! I absolutely love this series!!! I can't believe Book 9 ended on such a note!! I had to go find the next episodes on Webtoons. My poor heart cannot wait for the next book to be released!
I am always excited to read the latest volume in this series, the story and the art are great. After finishing this volume though, I'm not looking forward to the repercussions we'll no doubt see in the next one.
Although The Remarried Empress is often labelled as a romance with elements of magic, don’t expect those to take centre stage. They linger in the background. What this manhwa truly excels at is exploring politics and relationships—be they marriages, friendships, or alliances. At its heart, it is the story of how Empress Navier navigates the turbulent domestic affairs of the palace.
One of the most impressive aspects is the author’s thorough research. The setting feels authentic, particularly in the way women’s roles are depicted. Empress Navier is a brilliant portrayal of a woman balancing dignity and intelligence in a restrictive environment. She uses her wit and cunning to form alliances, negotiate trade deals, and ultimately strengthen the empire of her husband, Emperor Sovieshu.
The marital conflict, however, struck me in a particular way. I couldn’t help but feel that many of their issues might have been resolved with simple communication. Instead, both Navier and Sovieshu retreated into their official roles as empress and emperor, rather than engaging as husband and wife. That distance set the stage for the drama and heartbreak to follow.
For some readers, the political manoeuvring may feel heavy at times. Yet, for me, the twists and turns of palace intrigue kept the pages turning. I’ve read up to Volume 9, and despite the weight of politics, the drama and Navier’s quiet resilience make this a captivating story.
I'm further along in the Webtoon than there are English editions out yet.
How I feel about the series as a whole is going to depend a lot on how it ultimately treats Heinrey's empire-building and his violence on "behalf" of Navier.
(Controversial take, but although Heinrey is clearly the better husband, so far, Sovieshu seems to be the better ruler. Or at least, Sovieshu's kingdom seems to run more on a rule of law than Heinrey's does.)
Absolutely loved this volume! The story is at such an exciting point, with so many revelations and heartfelt scenes. Navier continues to shine as a heroine who is both strong and compassionate. This series never disappoints. And I can't get enough of Heinrey 🥹
Aaaaa to się tak pięknie toczy, wzięła ślub z nowym władcą, jej się powodzi, a były mąż władca teraz gryzie paznokcie bo Navier lepiej sb radzi bez niego 😌💅 slay girl NO KOCHAM TO PO PROSTU CZEMU JA WCZEŚNIEJ SIE NIE WZIĘŁAM ZA CZYTANIE TEGO! poza tym Król Heinrey największy GREEN FLAG, PIEPRZONY ZIELONY LAS
I liked this one although it was too long and sometimes it got boring but it was full of DRAMA and i was here for it, i liked the artstyle it was literally majestic. And overall i liked how henry was all cutesy when with navier and otherwise acted serious. Also, at first i disliked duke ergi but HE’S NOW LITERALLY MY FAVORITE CHARACTER IN THIS??? LIKE BRO IS A DEVIOUS STRATEGIST 🔥🔥
