I thought I knew the depths of darkness, but I was wrong.
After escaping Lord Eldrion's clutches, I find myself in a new nightmare, haunted by visions of a looming apocalypse.
The fate of Luminael rests on my shoulders, but the weight of my newfound powers threatens to crush me. As an empath, I am the key to stopping the ancient evil that seeks to consume us all.
But I am not alone in this fight. Finn, the former court jester, stands by my side, our bond forged in the fires of our suffering. Together, we must navigate a dangerous web of alliances and betrayals, unsure of who we can trust.
As the shadows grow longer and the whispers of demons grow louder, I am forced to confront the truth of my own existence.
The actual story that’s happening is interesting, but there is so much unnecessary filler.
Some of the history is good and helpful, but not all. Almost anything from Maura’s POV provided a small bit of context, but was mostly unneeded.
And then the sex. Good god it was awkward and bad. I love a good spicy scene, but these did nothing to further the story, came out of nowhere, and the character relationships weren’t built enough to make it make sense.
It would be like a stranger telling me in explicit detail about the kinky sex they had with a stranger they just met. Why would I care? Kinda weird you’re telling me this.
Although, I saw that ending coming the book was still interesting.
There is a lot of back and forth between Alana, Finn, and Eldrion. Making the love triangle very prominent in this book, since she is still drawn to Eldrion despite being with Finn.
I liked the aspects of the rebellion and the flashbacks to Eldrion’s mother. When he found the diary and we got to see the true beginnings of Alana’s story was amazing! Her destiny started with his mother and they truly made her who she is. I think seeing that storyline also made you understand why Alana fees drawn to Eldrion, even when she shouldn’t be.
Kayan’s appearance was interesting. Him speaking in riddles but also basically telling Alana like girl don’t trust anyone, especially those close to you. Her not listening getting screwed over and starting the destruction she saw in premonition was crazy!
I’d love to see more of rosalie… ngl I thought she’s get her own spin off series since she was rarely mentioned after being sold. However, I did like her popping up and Kayan checking on her status.

I think this is where I DNF this series tbh. This book was not it for me.
For starters, how many POVs does one book need? I wouldn’t mind asssss much if they were relevant but they weren’t 😂 I thought there’d be a reason for them but then the book ended and it turns out they’re just random little fillers.
Whilst there is a bit more depth and storyline to this one, I just struggled getting into it. I feel like the author has tried too hard with some “plot twists” and it just really hasn’t worked. The ending was a little disappointing and I just struggled to keep up because the bad guys become good but then bad again but oh wait, no they’re good. And the same can be said for the good guys 😂😂 I’m just so confused😂
I used to make sure I would finish a series once I’ve started it, but life is too short so this one is a DNF.
A fairy tale with spice, but the spice is getting kinky and it's embarrassed that is being written about.. the relationships never actually evolve past it. Dunno it just wasn't hitting the vibra.. i mean the vibes.
The second book gave me hopes for the last book. The story and plot itself was much more engaging, despite the unnecessary filler scenes. Fast moving, we see more vilans and character the velopment. I love the multiple POVs and sure they feel a bit much but it all comest together in the last two chapters of the third book why those were necessary.
There was a huge potential in the series but so many things happen, yet nothing happens at the same time.It should have just been re-edited into one 600 page book and call it a stand alone than a triology.
All the things happen!!! Book two has you on edge! So much happened in this book. The characters are all developing and you are definitely left hanging off the rails with this one. I’m a sucker for the “villain” and I have a feeling there is so much more to him. There are so many moving parts to this story and the way it’s all intertwined is amazing. I love this world and can’t wait to see where all this leads. Fantastic writing and fantastic story! For those of you wondering there is lots of spice in this one. (It’s awesome)
READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS. THIS REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS.
I dont like cliff hangers . I need the next book now! This was amazing. I loved it. Fast paced , 🌶🌶🌶🌶. I will never look at icicles in the same way ever again ! I cannot believe the ending. What a turn of events. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 10/10
Hm... no surprises. There was more depth to the story than in the 1st book, but you still knew from the beginning what was going to happen. The book just doesn't really pick me up. The characters are boring and do nothing with their (somewhat) potential. Unsure if I will read the last part when it comes out.
Continuing the story from the first one, each main character gets space to develop as the plot thickens and twists are coming often until the dramatic end. Can't wait for the next part of the story and to see how Alana deals with it
I like this book much more than the first one. This story is starting to get good.
I am very curious to understand more about why she couldn't keep her skirt on when she was around the king. I can only imagine that he is exceptionally attractive.
This book is better than the first, moves at a nice pace. The differing povs still bug me like the last, but I assume there is a reason as for Kayans' pov.
That end, I should have seen coming, and it's so obvious now, but I just didn't see it at all
Well... this took a turn I did not see coming. I love it when you read something that you think you know where it is going and you're totally wrong. I'm now very intrigued on what is going to happen... Fae/light BDSM/multiple POV ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶🌶🌶
This book had me on edge the whole time! I honestly love the dynamic between Eldrion and Alana, what they share is so deep and intimate in a different way.
I loved this book. Parts of the story developed the way I thought they would but there were also some unexpected twists. I'm looking forward to see where they take us. I'm off to buy book three.
Really good second book in this dark fantasy romance. I enjoyed the story again and characters. I highly recommend everyone series to Adults only. Enjoy!.
Glad to say the storyline has improved after book one. Definitely need to complete now after thinking it was going to be a DNF. Glad I continued, it's an easy read, and a good gap filler.
