A pyramid head dark romance novella was not on my 2024 bucket list but here we are. While this was an entertaining book, it did read a lot like a wattpad fan fiction and had multiple errors that kind of messed up the flow for me. Great idea and concept but poor execution unfortunately.

However, that cliffhanger was pretty crazy. And I lived for the Silent Hill references.

Woof. I wish I could rate this zero stars.

One. How do you write a sexy pyramid head book, and then not have him be, you know, pyramid-headed during the smut?? And then to name him Parker! I'm having angry Buffy flashbacks.
At one point the FMC's name was Sharon for some reason? Someone missed a name change while writing. Many other errors throughout the book.

Oh, and then this gem. "But yet here you are letting my son pile drive your woman cave right under my nose.”

Where's the squirt bottle?

Great idea, poor execution.

With repetitive phrases and wording, lack of depth and descriptions, and mechanic paragraphs that describe nothing but simple actions like: “I did this,” and “I did that.” over and over, it was hard to push through.

The finished book still feels like a rough draft when it comes to the writing style.

The plot itself was interesting and had so much potential, but the writing itself left a lot to be desired.

So, I don’t usually leave less than 3 stars and I went back and forth on whether to leave a review at all. Ultimately, I decided to for a variety of reasons.

First, the fact that this is an erotica is not communicated well. From the blurb and back matter, you expect a straight up horror which is what caught my eye. But once you get into the story, it’s more erotica with horror elements. That is not a deal breaker for me but I suspect it’s keeping the book from reaching its intended audience.

The book really needs a developmental and line/copy editor. There’s a lot of repetition phrases, weak writing in terms of plot development and character and the pacing is way too fast. There’s not enough time to develop or get close to anyone. By the end of the book, I couldn’t have told you three things important to the main character.

Lastly and perhaps most egregious is the book claims to take inspiration from Silent Hill but it’s truthfully just Silent Hill fanfiction with characters straight out of the series like Pyramid Head mentioned by name. That is a big factor behind the 2 star rating. Fanfics are fine but when you publish and start making money off characters that you have no right to, we have a big ethical problem. Inspiration is fine but this book is much more than inspired which is an issue.

3.5 stars rounded up to 4- because I think the 1 star reviews are pretty unfair. Okay, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, however, people rating this 1 star with the reason that it's "Silent Hill fan fiction"...ummm I follow the author on tiktok, and that's EXACTLY what she lead me to believe it was. I can see taking off stars for grammatical errors, there were quite a few. Finally, yes, as I said, we are all entitled to our own opinions, but are some of you really rating smut the same way you would rate some great classic? I don't know, I'm mostly here for the sex and the silly story ;D

A book I didn’t know I needed!
Loved this read so much especially as a girl who loves watching horror movies. Loved reading an erotic horror based on Silent Hill especially the steamy scenes between Pyramid Head and Sharon! 🥵
While this book does have smutty scenes with Pyramid Head it also has a great storyline with gore and creepy scenes.
Restless Dreams does end on a cliffhanger so I am very excited for the next book. 🤩

Is Pyramid Head my next horror boyfriend? After reading this book, yes yes he is. 😍

I was eating this up and absolutely struggled to put it down. I read it in one sitting.
I loved the FMC.

This was a fun, quick read giving one of my favorite movies a dark and sexy but bloody twist! If you have ever crushed on pyramid head this book is for you! The book was definitely extremely spicy and leaned more into that than world building. The cliff hanger at the end definitely has me looking forward to the next book!

I was excited when I first heard this book was about to drop since I’m a huge Silent Hill fan.

Sadly it felt like Wattpad fan fiction.
It needs another round of editing due to lots of punctuation issues and a few grammar issues but nothing unbearable.

One example but not the only one present in the book:

“I need to make sure Parkers okay.What am I even thinking, they cut his fucking dick off of course hes not okay, I need to just make sure hes okay.Tears gather in my eyes at the thought of it.”

There was a lot of cheesy dialogue that made me giggle versus coming across as hot.

“He could make me his personal turkey and bastor me all to hell to keep the juices flowing forever, and I would enjoy every fucking second. He could tell me to gobble gobble in that moment, and I’d gratefully oblige.”

Ultimately I decided it was too funny to not see how it ended.

”But yet here you are letting my son pile drive your woman cave right under my nose.”

I cannot express how excited I was for this book!! I had the pleasure to arc read this before it's debut. Silent Hill is and has been one of my favorite movies since I was a little girl. I loved the dark, creepy atmosphere and ambiance that Victoria had created within her world. The spin on this story was to die for and unlike anything I've ever read. I loved the tidbits that gave me reminiscence to the OG world of SH. 🩶

This erotic horror novella was fast-paced and left you begging for more once it was over, that cliffhanger?!? the little pet name our pyramid head daddy gave Sharon??🥵 *screamed internally* oh my, I cannot wait for whatever else this author decides to write.

As much as I appreciate Silent Hill and the characters I have to say I found this to be way to similar to the movie Silent Hill with using exact situations and quotes where only a word or two are different. It also raises concerns to the level of trademark/copyright using the actual place Silent Hill and characters Pyramidhead, Alyssa, Sharon and even the nurses as Konami still holds the trademark/copyright and states on thier website they don't mind thier work being used as a non profit but not in cases for profit.
As much as I appreciate the smut with Pyramidhead I feel this should have been done as a fanfiction not for profit as it felt more copy and paste with smut vs original story.

This book was a wild ride from beginning to the end.

What happens when your dreams become reality, and you come face to face with the main thing that's been haunting them? Well you're taken to a whole new dimension and will have to either survive or well.....I'm sure you know.

This book was inspired by Silent Hill. There are elements in this book that will automatically make you feel like you are in the world similar to Silent Hill.

Plus Pyramid Head.....ummmm spicy scenes....ummm ok now, get it girl lol.

Super proud of this author, and super excited for her to release this beauty into the world for everyone else to enjoy.

This was a very fast-paced story. Like, double up on the fast pace. A quick introduction, a brief description, and you sped on by having no time to get to know the setting, the place, or the characters. (I did not know that this was a short story and not a full-length book. I honestly thought it was a full-length book. Probably would have been better to be longer than it is)
As for the Silent Hill re-imagining (not 100% sure if it is a re-imagining) or a story with Silent Hill vibes, it wasn't enough. But I do LOVE the movie and highly enjoy the games.
It sucks because I had such high hopes for this story.

1.5 stars, I would have DNF’d if it was any longer.

This was recommended in a FB group, and since I have KU I figured I would try it. I love supporting indie authors, and some are really great, while some need to stay in the fan fiction category.

I understand that resources are scarce, but the lack of editing in this was insulting to the reader. I expect things, but the consistent misuse of their/there/they’re was so jarring- not to mention the MC’s name is consistently incorrect.

The plot felt jumbled and just didn’t make sense. The eye trauma was overused. The house of mirrors scene felt very much like another popular dark romance.

Giant fumble. The point of the whole Pyramid Head sex appeal (can't believe I just wrote that) is that he is silent, menacing, and-most importantly- unknowable.

The second he becomes "Parker" you've lost the entire point of the monster. The literal second chapter of the book manages to dismantle the sex appeal and turn the character into a functional civil servant.

What should have been a fun read about a faceless monster becomes a copy-and-past of the thousands of bland, dual POV supernatural romances clogging the market. It's not even really a monster romance because he's literally just a guy lol.

Did not know I needed this 😂 I remember watching silent hill a long time ago (to young to be watching it probably 🤭) and became obsessed with pyramid head but as time passed I completely forgot, then I rewatched the movie and everything re surfaced ! Now this hit EVERY spot 🫠 why was he so cuteee !? but still bad ass and Scarlett 😂 she had me laughing with her Vocab but that’s just her. That CLIFFY really sucker punched me though 😨 definitely neeed more !

Erotic novel inspired by Silent Hill and Pyramid head, so of course I had to dive in. The idea is what captured me to the book and I felt like it delivered some what. This is Victoria’s debut book and I feel like she did well, it did need a little more editing. But I had fun reading it! It was very spicy and actually had a plot which I want to follow into the next book. I ended up like the FMC and loved the MMC Peter. I did find myself lost within the story and atmosphere, I could see the surroundings and felt like I was walking into Silent Hill, it was great.

I can't believe I read this

Ok yes. I knew what I was getting myself into with this. It is Silent Hill Smut fan fiction. And I am ok with that.

What I am NOT ok with is the horrible grammar and writing. Instead of broad shoulders, she wrote "brought" . The author doesn't know the difference between homonyms like their \there \they're. Some sentences make no sense because she forgot basic sentence structure. And at least two times, she forgets her own FMC's name and writes Sharon instead of Scarlet.

Eager and excited doesn't even begin to cover how I felt for this book and Victoria certainly didn't disappoint. A true page turner that left me incapable of putting it down until I was finished. With the perfect dynamic between the MMC and the FMC the story unfolds perfectly and didn't leave me wishing things had gone down differently. I'm officially putting Victoria on my watchlist because missing any of her works would be a crime.

Ok I love me a spicy read but this felt like it was more spice than plot. I think this world’s story could be really great and there’s a lot of promise in what this series could be! I would definitely like to see what book 2 brings and if there’s additional backstory given and if we can get a good balance of spice, story, and gore.
