I don’t need to be taken care of. I earn my own money as an OmegaFans creator. The National Omega Commission's heat services has all the alpha knots I’ll ever need.
As for love? That ship sailed a long time ago.
So why is it so hard to keep these three men at arm’s length?
Ben, my best friend’s brother, who was only meant to be an uncomplicated party hook-up.
Aleks, the broody beta who I’m certain only tolerates me.
Not to mention “Ryder”, the Only A’s alpha I’ve started collaborating with. It’s easier to ignore what’s between us if I don’t find out his real name.
None of them know the others exist. And I’m certainly not a sweet, attentive omega that could bring a pack together, even if I wanted to.
But there’s an invisible threat lurking, and they may be my only salvation from the sins of my past.
The Heat of Us is a first-person, multi-POV MFMM reverse harem romance, set in the Bond Dissolution Omegaverse. It follows the events of The Scent of Us but can be read as a standalone.
Eliana Lee writes character-driven romance with diverse casts and too many MMCs. After being repeatedly betrayed by love triangles, she now needs her heroines to have it all. She was born in Melbourne, Australia to immigrant parents and firmly believes food is a love language.
My heart is full, my cheeks are tearstained, and my panties are ruined.
This was the easiest five stars I've given in a while.
Lovers of a spicy, smutty omegaverse with character and relationship development, look no further, your next read is here!
The Heat of Us opens with our FMC, Hazel, creating content for her OmegaFans account with a fellow creator of a similar platform. Things are immediately, right off the bat, hot and heavy. I was (s)creaming through the first five chapters alone.
Then the cast of characters slowly expand. We're introduced to two additional men and get glimpses of their struggles but also how each and every person in this destined pack fits with one another.
There are moments of despair, moments of support, and moments of triumph. I thoroughly loved this story and these four characters with my heart and soul. I saw bits and pieces of myself in each of them, I was rooting for them so hard, and I'm so freaking happy to have read this.
Eliana Lee has woven yet another banger of a book. Her stories feel personal and I LOVE seeing this Asian representation in one of my all-time favorite genres. The Heat of Us is releasing May 31 and I IMPLORE you to pick it up!
I really liked how intimate this book felt. It was simply four people falling together in a beautiful way. There was little conflict which can sometimes make a story feel like it is aimlessly floating with no destination in sight, but for a warm, cozy, omegaverse with lots of affection, devotion, and smutt for our FMC, this book is perfect. I also love to see Asian representation and sex positive characters. The FMC and one of the MMCs did this worlds adjacent to OF, and I really liked how they didn’t feel pressured to stop once the relationships started. I know it may not be for everyone but to them, it was their livelihood and the others understood that. The communication throughout the whole book was phenomenal. After so many stories where that’s an issue, this was incredibly satisfying to read. I loved the growth these characters had and watching how their pack came to be. I’m not sure if it was intentional but, the simple symbolism of them doing puzzles together perfectly represented themselves. Even when they didn’t see it, alone, they were just some pieces with bumpy edges but when they came together, they made a beautiful picture. I’m looking forward to what’s next for this author.
I don't even know how to describe this book other than it's 👩🍳💋
Hazel was a character I was looking forward to getting to know ever since she was introduced in The Scent of Us! Reading about her journey of learning to love herself made me so emotional 🥹
[Redacted] was also a pleasant surprise 👀👀 Love love love seeing his character shine in this book. I ended up loving him so much! Aleks is a precious beta boi and deserves the world! Him and Hazel's love for true crime honestly made my heart squeeze (in the best ways ofc). And [yes another redacted]'s dirty talking aside 🤣, this man is so freaking perfect. I love hiiiim. He might present himself as a smug dude, but deep down, he's the most caring fictional bf you'd have to ask for!
After reading The Scent of Us at the start of the year, I was pretty positive I had found a new favourite author. Now, having finished The Heat of Us, I can definitely say that this is a fact. Eliana Lee writes beautiful, emotional stories that manage to have the perfect ratio of plot to spice to relationship building between characters. I will be eagerly be reading all her future books.
The Heat of Us is a fantastic story, where the FMC Hazel overcomes her past and builds her own pack, unbeknownst to her. I love how she finds her men and how they all come together. Aleks, Ben and Ryder are amazing, and I love all the guys equally. How Eliana blends a fast burn spice with a slow burn romance is truly masterful and its done so so well.
This story has plenty of angst, but manages to pull the angsty part of in a rather sweet way. How the characters came together and helped each other heal made me have all the feels and I loved it.
All of the characters have complicated family relations, and I really adore both the hurt/comfort and found family in this book.
This is probably not a great review because I'm just gushing about how much I liked this, but I'm just so in love with these characters and this story. Whilst it's not plot-heavy, I really liked how it focused on the characters, their growth and them coming together.
I love Eliana Lees take on omegaverse, scent matches and bond marks. Her omegaverse world building is one of the more interesting ones I've read.
I highly recommend this to everyone who likes omegaverse. The Heat of Us is a 1st person multi-POV, and is a standalone. Some of the side characters make more sense if you've read The Scent of Us-duology first, but this absolutely works on it's own as well.
This was such a beautiful and poignant story of healing, growth, and learning to trust. Hazel was a slightly zany, outwardly confident woman with a passion for true crime and was allergic to relationships. Ben was a sweet, penitent, dedicated, and driven man adjusting to some big life changes. Aleks was stoic, enigmatic, and grumpy. Remy was confident and passionate. They all fit together so well and were able to support one another through their hard times. There was a clear give and take between all the MCs. This book hit hard for me because I have a lot of religious trauma and a complicated relationship with my parents. The mixed feelings about cutting contact were so relatable. The guilt that doesn’t go away just because it’s illogical. It was all very well done.
Spice: 5/5

3.75 🌟 Very nice and well researched Omegaverse. I loved how the sexwork felt authentic and spicy not sad. It lagged a bit for me in the middle and towards the end I found myself skimming not really into some of the never ending smut scenes that kept popping up, I wanted a bit more interest in this somewhat fluffier read. Beta was not my fave for much of the book.

Eliana really ate and left no crumbs; I loved this book
Hazel (FMC) has been THROUGH it to say the least and she is very hesitant to get close to anyone which is fully understandable. She's a sex worker and one collab leads to another and we get to meet (stage name) Ryder Hard (MMC). Aleks (MMC) is a receptionist in her building and Ben (MMC) is her best friend's brother.
Hazel is drawn to the three men and subconsciously starts forming a pack and honestly, it was so nice to see because she defo deserves it. Whilst her past at the hand of her parents is heartbreaking, her present starts to look up with the addition of these guys in her life with loaddsss of fun in her nest 😏😏 and ample scent marking
Eliana is a new to me author and I really enjoyed this book - defo recommend
Scale: ⭐️ - would've DNF'ed / continued out of spite ⭐️⭐️ - shit, but whatever ⭐️⭐️⭐️ - meh, could've been better ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - lit 👅 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - loved it, inject this shit into my veins 🤪
🫑 - no smut 🌶 - no point 🌶🌶 - mediocre at best 🌶🌶🌶 - standard smut, hot 🌶🌶🌶🌶 - 🥵 okay, some CW 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 - fuck me 🥵🥵 CWs / filthy with a side of filth - see Poison / Room Twenty-Two: Hide and Seek/ The Naughty List
I love how this author writes and how she creates her characters. However, this was not as fun as the first one for me.
I'm not a fan of sex work and that's a big part of Hazel's story.
And the fact that all of the male characters have a separate sexual relationship with her felt weird and a little off. How much prefer when the group is coming together and there's not so many separate scenes with the partners.
Plus, this had the requisite evil family members that feels a bit over-the-top.
Finally, there is some degradation and name-calling during sex scenes that just gives me the heebie-jeebies. Like calling her cum slut, etc.
I saw fanart of this book on author's IG and that made me read this series. I knew what I was getting into and it wasn't bad I would say. I liked the whole aspect of consent being the main topic throughout the whole series.
Also I know a lot of books show crazy parents but wow...
This series is absolutely amazing. I adored all the main characters. I was worried about the pacing after the first story was a duet, but no the standalone is perfect. I hope we get more from this world because I'm so ready to come back ^_^ Oh and the steam was just w o w.
Tropes: 🐺 Omegaverse 👉 MFMM 💘 Hurt/Comfort ☁️ Cozy but angsty ✨ They're all cinnamon rolls with filthy mouths 🔥 Fast burn 👉 Asian rep

~ STORY 📝 ~ The way I ATE that book in one sitting??? Man, I loved the first 2 books but this one spoke directly to my soul 😮💨
It has everything: it's super sweet (omigod so freaking sweet), it's cozy but still has a lil' mystery black cloud on the horizon to keep us on our toes all along AND SO MUCH SPICE!! Also, I laugh so many times. Sometimes it would be the dialog, and other times just the way they phrased things. So overall the banter is bantering. 😂
This a fast-burn spice but a slow-burn romance and it's s so good, it almost made me empathize with those people who use the werewolf filters on social media to play-role their cringe-ass alpha/omega relationship on the fucking internet 🤣.
Anyway, consider me 100% sold on omegaverse 🤷🏽♀️
~ SPICE 🌶️ ~ If you read the Heat of Us, you're in for:
🐺 Knotting 🐺 So much scent marking 🐺 A lot of fluid (from everybody 👀) 🐺 Love bites and bond bites 🐺 No holes shall go unused 🐺 Omega in heat / Alpha in rut 🐺 Edging and big O's overload 🐺 So much praises
Among other things 👀

This is an arc review. Thanks to the author for the advanced ebook copy 🙏💖
ARC Review: An incredible blend of slow burn romance under a steady current of fantastic spice. A perfect addition to The Bond Dissolution Omegaverse world that delves smoothly through difficult family situations, overcoming feelings of guilt, and building the family you need after the one you were given failed you. This story flows beautifully and will quickly have you cheering at each step these characters take toward building a pack built on care, comfort, and trust.
Aleks, Ben, Ryder and Hazel all got my heart. I felt I should have reread Juno’s duet cause it’s been 5 months since I read that duet 😂 I almost forgot everyone 🥲
But this really broke my heart and put it back together.
This is book 3 in the Bond Dissolution series. The Heat of Us could be read as a standalone, but I do recommend reading The Scent of Us duology, both because it is very good and also because there’s some background info that might be helpful!
Tropes & themes: MFMM, bond dissolution, knotting, mate bites & heat tending, MCs in adult entertainment, latent alpha, scent sympathetic (scent match) mates, best friend’s brother, forced proximity, coworkers (co-stars), themes involving toxic families, and some darker themes so please check TWs! Kink: cum play, chasing, somnophilia, spanking, DVP, soft pleasure dom vibes *this does not contain MM
The Pack: - Hazel, female omega - Ben, male alpha - Ryder, male alpha - Aleks, male beta
Spoiler-free summary: When Hazel agrees to collab with fellow sex worker, Ryder Hard, for her first ever partnered content, she wasn’t expecting that their platforms would blow up, leaving their subscribers demanding more. The more time they spend together, the more she finds herself drawn to him. It’s her worst nightmare. Add to that the fact that her best friend’s brother has somehow wormed his way into her life, AND her growing fondness for the adorable beta that works her apartment’s front desk, and Hazel is frazzled.
Thoughts: The Heat of Us is an incredibly moving story about love, loss and finding your tribe. Hazel’s story is full of humor, heartbreak and heat that will leave you rooting for their HEA.
Eliana Lee has quickly become an auto-buy author for me, and the quality of this book cements my opinion further. The way that Eliana weaves a story that is equally entertaining as it is meaningful is masterful. I cannot speak highly enough about the way she unpacks mental health issues and generational trauma. And I stand by my previous statements — Eliana truly is the queen of found family.
Hazel is one of my favorite OV FMCs. I really adored everything about her personality, her history, and her journey. She is so funny, quirky and caring. I love that she was working in the sex industry and absolutely owning her designation and sexuality. I love that her fear of vulnerability was outmatched by her courage.
The MMCs are all so amazing. I truly enjoyed each of them for their unique traits and quirks. There were super funny moments between the pack members that really helped set up the formation of their pack, and I thought that they all complimented each other incredibly well. Don’t tell the others, but I really loved Ryder’s character. He was such a perfect golden retriever himbo, which is usually not my pack favorite, so that really speaks to Eliana’s character development.
Lastly, the romance and smut. I thought each relationship was well developed and meaningful, especially when they worked together as a pack. The text convos between Hazel and Ben were probably some of my favorite parts, although I’m obsessed with her nerd-y obsession sharing with Aleks. Again, it really just speaks to how well these relationships were fleshed out. Some of the romantic one-liners in this book had me weeping.
The smut was top notch, OV goodness. I loved the individual and group scenes and thought that each partner had a unique style of making love that really complimented the others’. I loved some of the kinkier additions in this book, not just because they were hot (because they were) but because they also spoke to the growing trust between Hazel and her pack.
In conclusion, I loved every second of this book and I cannot wait to own a physical copy. OV readers absolutely MUST read Eliana’s bond dissolution series.
I couldn’t resist diving into Eliana Lee’s third omegaverse novel aftering finishing The Scent of Us Part One & Part Two. This third novel featured a brand new pack with characters who carried over from the original duology.
Both the omega and one of her alphas were two prominent characters in the duology, meaning we had some familiarity with them as this third standalone novel began. This novel shifts from different POVs from all the pack mates giving us great insights into their personal lives, and struggles, outside of the pack.
This story deals with the death of a partner, religious trauma, sick/aging family members, and abusive relationships. That sentence alone feels overwhelming and oppressive, but the characters banter and the story itself is one of comfort and hope. While there are many tough themes throughout this story it never felt dark or constricting. We watch each character come to terms with their individual struggles, and learn to lean on one another so that they no longer face those tough challenges alone.
Another thing I loved about this book was how sex positive it was. While most omegaverse novels in my experience are inherently sex positive, this novel featured two characters who were sex workers. We got a peak into their routine and the reality of being a sex worker. I thought this shed a very realistic and positive light on their jobs, and appreciated how the other characters responded to this information once it was brought to light.
Similarly to the duology that pack dynamics were once again incredible to read. There was spice, smut, but also tender, healing, and comforting moments. Everything a healthy dynamic should display and cultivate was included in this pack. I’m so happy I discovered this author and her characters, and through them was able to reignite my love for omegaverse. This genre is just what I need when I’ve been dealing with a lot personally, physically, and mentally. I need the comfort of these packs just as much as the characters do, and it truly has been a cathartic reading experience.
"The Heat of Us" by Eliana Lee is an Omegaverse reverse harem romance and can be read as a standalone, but it follows the events of "The Scent of Us." The story is set in the Bond Dissolution Omegaverse and features a first-person, multi-POV narrative. Let’s dive into the details:
PLOT SUMMARY • Setting: The story takes place in an Omegaverse where alphas, betas, and omegas coexist in Australia. The Bond Dissolution has left omegas cautious in public due to the growing opposition, especially from alphas.
• Main Character: Our female main character is a fiercely self-reliant omega named Hazel, who earns her own money as an OmegaFans creator. She has no interest in joining a pack or seeking love.
• The Men: >Ben: The best friend’s brother, thought to be a beta, is initially meant to be an uncomplicated party hook-up. But their connection deepens, and he becomes more than just a casual encounter.
>Aleks: The broody beta who tolerates Hazel's presence. Yet, beneath his stoic exterior, he is shouldering the care of his family.
>Ryder: An OnlyA’s alpha who collaborates with Hazel. Their professional relationship evolves into something more intimate, and secrets begin to unravel.
• Commonality: All four characters are dealing with a barrage of traumatic and unsettling familial dynamics.
• Secrets and Threats: None of these men initially know about each other’s existence. As they individually get to know and spend time with Hazel, they are slowly introduced to one another and realize she is unknowingly building her pack. But an invisible threat looms, and they become her salvation from the past she's trying to forget.
• Thoughts: I like the originality of the Bond Dissolution universe Eliana Lee created; however, I didn't love "The Heat of Us". Why? Well, several reasons:
[Lite Spoilers Ahead]
1) The reveal of Hazel's secret past, while understandably triggering for sensitive readers, could have been more impactful.
2) The "big bad" and resolution to those scenes are rushed and anti-climatic.
3) The story should have ended at the resolution of the threat and then gone straight into the epilogue to tie up the loose ends.
4) The whole "big bad" aspect of the story pulls in the opposition(s) to omegas dissolving their bonds without requiring the consent of the alpha and Hazel's secret past, but doing so only serves as the catalyst to get the characters to (and give the readers) group activities scenes.
5) The loose ends are still loose. (I could insert a knotting joke here, but it might be crass due to the over-the-top religious "no more wire hangers" mother that is the villain of Hazel's past.)
Thankfully, there isn't a third-act break-up. The Bond Dissolution is a unique spin on Omegaverse and I also appreciate the Asian representation, which is a first in the Omegaverse world for me.
This is my personal opinion (and I am in no way shape or form a writer), so if you enjoy Omegaverse stories, give "The Heat of Us" a read. I hope you enjoy Hazel, Ben, Aleks, and Ryder's story more than I did.
Thank you, Eliana Lee, for the opportunity to read and review "The Heat of Us" in advance of the release.
That was a roller-coaster of emotions! The good, the bad, the HOT, and the heart retching sad...
Eliana Lee really has an amazing way of writing to incorporate Asian culture. I absolutely adored every part that was included in this book. There are two others before this, but I haven't read those, and they can also be read as standalones.
This read follows the story about an FMC Omega named Hazel. A young, independent, I don't need a pack, heart filled with trauma, woman. It is absolutely heartbreaking to read about the low points in her life and how she reprimands and blames herself for it all.
But then slowly, she meets three men, all different levels of designation. Will they be able to break down the walls of this strong-willed Omega and show her she is worthy of love and adoration?
I found myself laughing and really appreciating the banter between the characters throughout and the multi pov chapters. Everything was written beautifully and tastefully, and there are some extremely INTENSELY HOT scenes! It broke my heart and put it back together countless times and left me wanting more.
Wow! This was exactly the kind of book I was in the mood for, so I’m so glad I got a copy!
The Heat of Us is an incredible sexy and ridiculously sweet Why Choose romance set in an ABO universe. The FMC is an unbounded omega with a traumatic past in terms of both romantic relationships and family. Somehow she finds herself getting closer to three different guys, two alphas and a beta, when she’s been determined to go it alone. But all three of these MMCs make her feel loved, cherished, in control, and most importantly, safe.
I love Hazel, the FMC. She was the perfect mix of vulnerable and strong, submissive and sassy, cuddly and feisty. She was relatable and realistic, and the relationships she develops with each of the MMCs are so amazing.
I won’t spoil things by saying who her guys are, but just know that they are all fantastic and I love them. They are so supportive and attentive. They respect Hazel and understand when she needs space and always make sure she is consulted for big decisions, not just forcing their alpha decisions on her. They are doting and loving, and incredibly sweet. I love how the author put so much work into giving each of them such distinct backgrounds, baggage, personalities, and relationships with each other and with Hazel. They are each unique and work very well together.
I truly have no complaints! This book was everything I wanted out of a why choose/RH omegaverse story. It checked all the boxes for me, and had me squealing, gasping, and clapping at various points throughout the story. I highly recommend this book!
Brilliant. Sweet, romantic, sexy, steamy, extra steamy, explicit, creative, nuanced, layered characters, I could go on and on about this series.
It blows my mind how honest, real and empowering the supporting themes are in this novel. Grief, guilt, mental health, abuse. The author explores the obvious and silent family traumas I think from a place of strength, almost saying - you are heard, you are understood but I'm not going I'm not going to leave you or these characters in the dark with your pain. As well as being a sexy sexy novel, it is also very uplifting.
There are wonderful moments of found family, forming your support system, embracing your own path and finding love. Of course, there is also lots of delicious omegavverse erotica that builds and builds.
Wow. I’ve forgotten all about the omegaverse and this one slapped me down in my seat. Or nest. Whichever your preference.
I’ve read the first two with Juno’s story and loved it. It was rough reading her story but overall great. The writing was engaging and the story kept me on the edge of my seat. When I saw this was recommended, I had to read it. HAD TO. I am not disappointed. Please note that I’ve just finished a mafia series and those can be… “rough”.
This story is about Hazel, Juno’s close if not best friend, from the omega government assistance program (can’t remember the actual name) and how she finds her pack. Hazel works in the porn industry—think OnlyFans and meets someone to do some collaboration… feel me? This book is hotter than wearing a mink coat in the summer. Hotter than the desert at noon.
Read it if you like the first two and interested in how Hazel became to be. 👍🏼
I did not realize until I finished the book that it was BOOK THREE?? But I think the first 2 were a duology about another character who is a side character in this book. Hazel is unlike anyone I know & I was rooting for her the whole book. Impossible not to love imo & I was so invested in how everything was going to work out that the plot felt so there to me. I was confused at times. I thought it was bc I’ve never read an omega verse book before, but it could also be that I skipped book 1&2. There were a couple pretty convoluted situations that happened and some rushed resolutions… I feel like all these elements in any other book & I would not have finished it but I HAD to know what happened with Hazel & I also LOVED the writing & the Australian dialect that peeped through! The vocab felt on point & so cutesy at times! I prob won’t read the first 2 bc I don’t think I’d enjoy them. I think this was a one-off, but I’m happy abt it! I always love adding genre diversity to my bookshelf 🤗 speaking of diversity, I loved how the author depicted the characters’ different cultural backgrounds & life experiences that shaped their thinking and behavior.
I think I’m more of a slow-burn reader these days, I tend to read more for the plot than the smut. This one was a bit wilder than my usual taste, lol. I probably would’ve devoured it as a teen, but my reading preferences have changed. Still, I can totally see why others find it such a fun and entertaining read, but the omega verse universe is still wild to me and I still don’t understand how a lot of it works and I found it quite cringe 😬. Can we also talk about how the first book in this series the female main character is bonded to 6 guys ! 6 ! RIP her 🐱
