One second was all it took to erase Frank’s dreams. New home. New car. New retirement. Stolen by the EMP.It gets worse. Frank’s neighbors failed to prepare at all, so it falls on him to keep them alive.
He starts stockpile food, water, and guns. Disaster lessons he'd picked up reading books about the end of the world.
But after the EMP, keeping people safe gets complicated. He has to rally the neighborhood before the streets turn to chaos.
And they will. He’s read enough to know the power might come on tomorrow…
…or never.
What readers are saying about book 10, after completing the whole series (no spoilers!)
Wonderful storyline with characters you can't help falling in love with.
What an adventure! I just finished Book 10 of this 10 book series. I loved every book!
I read through this series a book a day, I just couldn’t stop. Fascinating to follow an average guy coping with the break down of society and humanity after an EMP.
Book 10 did not disappoint with a climatic ending that had me reading well into the night. This series of books have been the best I have read in a long time.
About the box
Neighborhood Watch Box Set (1-5) contains five novels, it clocks in at nearly half a million words, and the individual books combine for thousands of positive reviews, so you know this edition is packed with post-apocalyptic value. It is followed by Neighborhood Watch Box Set (6-10). The full series spans approximately two weeks after an EMP attack. Read all 10 books for the complete After the EMP experience by EE Isherwood. Thank you for giving it a look.
E.E. Isherwood has been a storyteller for over 30 years. Initially the muse took the form of childish comic strips. As a teen it manifested itself under the guise of Dungeons and Dragons adventures. In college it culminated with a Master's thesis on Missouri geography—an extremely boring kind of story. Three decades and several careers later he realized that siren song never stopped, so he began to author books. A life-long enthusiast of apocalyptic fiction, writing about zombies was his passion. Future titles in science fiction and fantasy are in the hopper. He lives in the St. Louis, Missouri area, where his series of zombie books takes place.
I loved these books telling the story of Frank and his new neighbors after an EMP. It's great to have the 5 together thus way, because as soon as one ends I can't wait to start the next! Lot's of excitement, some fun and flirting, of course some fighting, but lots of courage and care between friends.
If the end of the world is coming via EMP, I hope Frank Douglas lives on my street! The series is full of suspense and action, but also packed with useful "Frank-isms" that those of us who aren't Doomsday Peppers can file away in case our own neighborhood finds itself in an EMP event someday. Frank and the teenagers are awesome characters, but I would enjoy a little more backstory on characters like Levar and Kaira, and Ben and Evelyn. There's a great mix of good guys and bad guys, hard decisions, and risk-taking, and although sometimes I'd really like Frank to stop and take a breath for a few pages, the Apocalypse waits on no man including Frank. Not sure I love the Frank/Carmen/Penny triangle but I'm hoping that gets better in the next set. I had a hard time putting the books down when I needed to be working or sleeping, but it has been well worth the chance I took on reading them and can easily visualize this series as a a future TV show. I' m here for it!
I dare you to try to put down these books once you start reading! Excellent detail as the characters take logical steps to survive the after effects of an EMP, with no sugar-coating the danger in this new world. It’s obvious that EE Isherwood has done immense research, making each installment believable to the core. I can’t wait to read the second batch!
Amazon says these books are aimed at ages 15-18, but I’m way beyond that bracket and thoroughly enjoyed them.
I liked the idea of everyday people living on their street facing the end of the world. !it's of imperfect people doing the best they can. And adding in the people who no matter what you do to help they either complain or sit and wait you you to take care of them. Good read should be a school book.
This series has kept my adrenaline pumping at every turn. I plan to read the other books in the next box set, plus any more I can find by this author. I cannot recommend this series enough.
When I first picked up and started to read this box set I didn’t know if I would like it, how wrong I was fantastic books and yes it could happen, looking forward to continuing to read the next instalment.
Really good character development throughout, believable story development, hard to put down.would absolutely recommend it to any dedicated end of the world as we know it readers.
Loving this series, moving on to the 2nd set now..Characters are all easy to relate to, and the writing flows easily making the reading much more enjoyable. I do hope though that the next set allows Frank to spend more time at home. The constant running around and bringing trouble back is aggravating. Aside from that though this is an excellent series and I cant wait to continue.
The constant struggles to live are remarkably handled by the author with combat style. Hard to put down. Need to keep reading to see how each catastrophe ends, but another comes up quickly.
These books have held my interest from page 1 to the end of book 5. I can't wait to start book 6. Frank has moved from one catastrophe to another, sometimes dealing with multiple at one time. This guy needs a break.
Frank does it again! Leading his community in surviving an EMP and stopping the bad guys from taking his old vehicles. I never got bored with this first book. Frank brought knowledge and the will to help those that were willing to be a part of new journey.
This is more realistic than many books I’ve read. Neighbors who didn’t know each other banning together behind a man who only knew about EMP’s from reading books and trying to live through it all. I’ve just started to read the next boxed set of the series.
A few times it was confusing with all the characters and locations. Definitely thought the writing got better with each book! Really enjoying it. Onto the next box set.
