This is the second story set in Hadley Cove on the Georgia coast with Lisa, best friend of Emma from the first story. Lisa is grieving the recent loss of her mother and trying to save the inn her parents loved. A chance meeting with Noah, a famous author needing a break, on the beach starts a friendship when Noah stays in her inn and the two work together to help each other with their issues. This is a quick read with a sweet and touching romance.

This was such a cute story, where is Hallmark to make this movie?

Take a Hallmark movie, but instead of it being a guy who owns the Inn, it's the girl, role flip!

Loved this story, and honestly did not know it was part of a series. I read it without reading the first one and felt like I was able to just get lost in the book without being confused at all.

I received this book from NetGalley.

Lisa sometimes acts much younger than her age. When she says she would 'literally die' if these people followed her back on Instagram - it just seems like something someone much younger would say.

Also, I know that Lisa is a huge fan of Noah but she almost immediately tells him about the financial difficulties. That seems a bit odd, especially knowing who he is.

Noah and Lisa get into a relationship but they're still keeping secrets from each other about their past relationships. Noah gets texts from his ex and doesn't even say anything, even after the ex rocks up in the same place as them!

Lisa just giving up on Noah and not believing him is just annoying. Even after she's seen what his ex has done in tabloids before, she doesn't even give him the benefit of the doubt, knowing how she knows him.

Also, Lisa needs money for the inn but what does she do? She doesn't seem to actually have a real job at the beginning. Surely she could be working and earning some kind of decent money while waiting for the inn to be up and running?

The whole Justin storyline seems forced. He just pops up randomly a couple of times and then there's a huge scene right towards the end. I don't know if the book needed it or if it added anything.

Let me say that this book represents two firsts for me. It's the first novel by Kerk Murray that I have ever read and the first romance I have read penned by a male author. I can honestly say that I was pleased on both counts!

We follow Lisa and Noah as they each navigate a difficult time in their lives and are thrown together (almost literally) by a runaway dog. I found the banter between Noah and Lisa witty and loved to see the sweet romance blossom. And Daisy! I could just picture Daisy and her shenanigans, which made this story even more endearing.

This was a lovely read and I plan to read more by this author.

After reading since we danced I couldn't wait to read this next book by Kerk Murray, since the day we fell. I just love the names of these books. Once again another fantastic book with main characters that are over 40, love that ❤️ i liked that this story had a bit of drama from both Lisa and Noah's past, not simple and always creeping into their current lives.

Trigger warning needed for mentions of domestic and spousal abuse. Also assault.

About the Book: Lisa Miller and Noah Jacobs meet via a charming misadventure by her dog Daisy. The strangers quickly become friends and soon advance toward something much more special. When their collective pasts storm into their lives causing havoc, the two have to decide the course of action they are willing to take, if they are to make things work.

About the Characters:

Lisa - > Driven to succeed, still emotionally raw from her recent losses, learning how to heal from domestic abuse, learning how to be strong, anxious about the current stressors in her life, very supportive of Noah

Noah - > Writer's block, still dealing with the loss of his loved one, good guy who genuinely tries to help where needed, good friend to Lisa, doesn't always look before he leaps, fights for what he wants

About the Community: Hadley Cove is a charming place. The community of people are helpful to those they care about. I loved how they rallied around Lisa when she stood up for herself. I also like how they accepted Noah into the fold.

My Final Say: This was a lovely story. The characters were kind and had good hearts. They suited each other well. The community was compassionate; I appreciated that they cheered for one of their own in such a big way.

Other: Readers who enjoy clean romances with a HEA conclusion will really like this novel.

Is it possible to fall for someone so quickly and so thoroughly that you hardly know what is happening? It seems like that for Lisa and Noah, but Since the Day We Fell actually contains a slow burning romance as the two get to know each other as friends working on projects.

Noah comes to town trying to escape a bad relationship and finish writing his book. When he meets Lisa, his world changes and he decides her failing inn would provide the quiet and inspiration he needs as a writer. Lisa is desperate for guests at the run down inn after her mother passes. Things get worse when she discovers she only has a few months before the bank forecloses on the mortgage.

Noah tries to overcome his writer’s block and avoid paparazzi and his ex-girlfriend, the glamorous Sophia. Meanwhile, Lisa is grieving her mother’s death, trying to save the family inn and reputation, and avoid her abusive ex-husband. Help comes to both of them from an unexpected source, but there are plenty of bumps in the road to make the reader wonder if they will ever find their “happily ever after.” This book is a clean, feel good romance that explores love, friendship, and sacrifice. Although the community relies on tourists for its income, it embraces and supports its residents in ways that exceed expectations. Emma is Lisa’s best friend who will do anything for her. Daisy is a chocolate lab rescue dog that Lisa inherited from her mother. She is a sweet dog, but still puppyish and gets into mischief; her antics add fun and surprise to the story. Daisy’s name has a special, heartbreaking significance for Noah that is explained late in the book.

Lisa inherits a failing inn, one that is deeply in debt and in need of repairs. But it is the legacy of her deceased parents and a part of the small town, so she desperately wants to save it. Into the midst of this turmoil walks Noah, a writer suffering from writer’s block. He is worried that he will not be able to repeat the success of his first novel. He seeks to hide and write, and hopes this quiet inn will supply the seclusion and inspiration he needs. Lisa is just glad to have a room occupied and some company. But past lovers threaten both of these two new friends even as their relationship moves to a deeper level. Misunderstandings and poor judgment threaten to break this bond, and indeed, it seems like there is no hope for a future together. This author does a good job of bringing his characters to life. They are flawed, which makes them seem more real. They have problems that have no easy solutions. They make bad decisions, and their explanations cannot always erase the pain they caused. Yet there is hope and maybe a silver lining in the cloud that hangs over them. It’s a sweet and clean romance, entertaining and enjoyable.

I absolutely love Lisa , Noah and Daisy's journey! After Lisa's moms passing she finds herself back in Hadley Cove where she has inherited Her parents Inn and Daisy, her mom's rescue dog. Noah is trying to finish his next story but he is struggling so he ends up in Hadley Cove looking for inspiration. Sweet energetic Daisy brings Noah and Lisa together! The two of them help each other find light where there is darkness! They understand each other and help each other heal along with the help of Daisy! If you haven't read Since The Day We Fell by Kerk Murray, I highly recommend it. He does an amazing job with his characters, letting you know who they are, what they are going through and how they feel. This is a very heartfelt story with so much love and care! There is loss, love, pain, healing, redemption, and second chances in this story. Also if you haven't read the first in this series Since the day we Danced,you should definitely check it out! This book initially rated as a potential 5-star novel, with the essence of the story focusing on Lisa who is trying to save the inn she inherited from her mother, along with a mountain of debt.

Celebrity author, Noah, escaping from a failed engagement, arrives in Hadley Cove, looking for inspiration to end his writer’s block amid pressure from his agent. Lisa’s rescue labrador, Daisy, plays an integral role in not only enabling Lisa and Noah to meet, but in keeping them together throughout the various trials they encounter.

Emma with her dog, Riley from “Since the Day We Danced” gives the reader a point of reference about the atmosphere of the small-town setting of Hadley Cove and the unity of its residents.

The rating was reduced to 4-stars as there were significant anomalies that were considered; however, itemising these would be spoilers for new readers.

I always love Second Chance stories. I also love reading stories when couples meet later in life. There tends to be a lot of baggage when that happens, but the fact that they can work through it and find a happily ever after is a good thing. There are a few moments in this book that I thought were a little “out there”, but it’s fiction. Think of it as one of those Christmas Hallmark movies that everyone loves so much, but can get very sappy. Still, it was a feel good book and the best part is the fact that the author stresses the need for pet adoption from rescue shelters. We had a chocolate lab for 13 years before we had to put her down at Christmas, and she was the best dog. It was easy to picture Daisy because of our lab.

Lisa returns to her mother's bed and breakfast after her mother passes. She wants to keep the legacy alive, but there's a lot of work to be done. Only 1 or 2 rooms are inhabitable and she does end up with a guest. Noah needs a place to stay to write his book and finds Lisa's inn. He decides to stay there. A friendship starts. Can Lisa save the inn?

Cute characters and a fun storyline. I really enjoy reading this and get very involved in the book that time passes quickly. A great read. And I enjoy the characters of the pets!

Lisa has inherited an inn that is drowning in debt and needing significant repairs. Noah is a best selling author with writer's block. He is traveling through and stops in Hadley Cove. Thanks to Daisy (Lisa's rescue dog), they meet on the beach with an instant connection. She invites him to stay at her crumbling down inn and he accepts. Throw in a crazy ex (one for each of them) and therein is the start of many mishaps and misunderstandings. Emma from book one is there as Lisa's best friend and help as they navigate the mishaps. The characters are very real with plenty of flaws and wonderful traits.

This was a delightful story (not quite as dog centered as the first of the series).

This was a lovely story. It's part of a series but easily read as a stand alone. Hadley Cove is a town we all wish we could live in, with rich characters who further the story. In this case, we are transported to the towns' Inn which is being repaired by a young woman who grew up there, and her new romantic partner. The romance was sweet, and a little drama and intrigue kept the story well paced and interesting.

This book was the cutest beach read. I enjoyed the whole book, I felt like it was a hallmark movie waiting to happen. I did not read the first book in the series but this read great as a stand alone. I was rooting for both main characters, Lisa and Noah. Noah is an author from New York, looking to clear his mind. Lisa is an Inn owner trying to save her Inn. It does involve some trigger warnings, domestic abuse and assault. It had no smut or bad language which was enjoyable to read.

I enjoyed this story which truly is a sweet love story. It was a love at first sight, which was nice. It was a bit hard to believe the extremes the terrible people who treated them wrongly, though I suppose in real life these types of things do happen; perhaps some greater explanation of why they were acting the way they were and why then would have been helpful. The male main character seemed just a bit too good to be true, but he was very likeable. It is a quick easy read. It has no bad language or sex, too, which I appreciate.

I had not read the first book in the series, but this book definitely works as a standalone. This is the first book written by Kerk that I've read, and I was pleasantly surprised.

Lisa and Noah both find themselves in predicaments, Lisa the potential loss of her late mother's inn, and Noah, a past due book manuscript. Through a series of events, they both grew closer together, despite the odds that seem to be stacked against them. It all comes together in the end so that they get their HEA ending.

Lisa and Noah don’t know each other. But Noah needs a place to stay in Hadley Cove to,finish writing his book. So he ends up staying at Lisa’s Inn.

However, both Lisa and Noah have problems going on their lives. Lisa needs to pay back money on the inn when her Mother owned it, as well as a ex. Noah, is escaping an ex also.

Both Lisa and Noah seem to have a connection after ex’s keep trying to cause problems and the inn needing work, they are still trying to work a way to measure their feelings.

A touching story of moving on.

This book was pretty good, though it honestly felt a bit rushed. I didn’t recognize how much time had passed until a specific mention of weeks having passed was noted.

I did like the characters, but it feels there was more depth to both of them to be explored. Honestly, I feel as though more time could have been spent exploring their personalities instead of overly verbose descriptions in every other sentence.

I adored this second book in the series. The characters had a lot more depth than in the first book, and I loved getting to know them. I also enjoyed seeing Emma, the MC from the first book, show up so much as well.

Daisy the dog was quite the personality in the story. And I liked Noah’s character as a writer. I appreciate what the author did with the tropes, and Lisa’s character was easy to root for.

There was a lot more drama, twists, and turns in this story as well.

And although it was easy to see where the story was going, especially with the father‘s manuscript, I still enjoyed every minute of the journey as we made our way there. Great job.

I fell into love with this book.

After Lisa’s mums rescue dog careened into Noah on the beach chasing seagulls and covering him with sticky drink, chips and sand they had an instant connection. Will they be able to overcome their heavy personal burdens, save Lisa’s family Inn and Noah’s floundering career as an Author?
Enjoy reading all the possibilities and life affirming moments with these two as much as I did. This authors written words are unique weaving together a delicious storyline.

A return to Hadley Cove finds Lisa, local B&B owner having inherited it from her mother, struggling to pay off an exorbitant amount of a bank loan. Enter Noah, a novelist looking to escape the big city to find a haven to finish his latest book.
Both have baggage. Lisa is attempting to move on from divorce from an ex who was verbally and physically abusive while Noah is unable to escape grief and loss. Their meet cute happens when Daisy, the golden retriever, finds Noah on the beach. A very sweet love story.

Hadly Cove really is a magical place. This is such a good read. I loved all the characters. They pull you into this inspirational story about finding hope and joy in unexpected places.
