Spells and Wedding Bells: A magical, witchy romcom

Rate this book
Book Two of the Spellbound in Thistleton series! A lighthearted and deliciously spicy magical romcom.

Faelene Carey may look like your average small business owner, but she has a secret. The owner of Ink & Parchment bookstore is actually a witch. With spells to breeze through her to-be-read list in minutes and magical cleaning supplies to keep the shop tidy without lifting her finger, you'd think her life would be easy.

Instead, she narrowly avoided being cursed to remain in her cat form for the rest of her life. At the eleventh hour, she was lucky enough to find her true love, Aidan Kennedy, to break the curse. Their relationship is only two months young and he's still acclimating to his wife-to-be being a witch.

On top of the stress of owning a growing business, closet-crazy in-laws-to-be, and planning a non-pagan wedding without the help of magic, Faelene's magic begins to misbehave. Which leaves her, maybe kind of wishing she'd gone with the cat curse.

Aidan is caught in the middle of Faelene and his family. He's desperately trying to keep the peace and his fiancé happy. Will Faelene figure out how to keep her magic under control or will their happily ever after end in disaster?

I've been some semblance of a writer since 1st grade. That was when I first tasted the delight of getting a book published and reading it aloud to the class with rave reviews. What a power trip for a 7-year-old.

It wasn't until 7th grade that I was highly encouraged by my English teacher to continue writing poetry outside of class assignments. From there I moved on to Literary Club in 8th grade and added short stories to my repertoire.

When high school came around, that was when I discovered the wondrous world of FanFiction. It all went downhill from that point. Numerous teachers in high school loved my work and submitted some of my (safe) pieces for publication. My teachers were the reason that I told myself,

"I can do this. I can be a published author one day."

In college, the trend continued but I pursued a career path in the design sector and writing went on the back burner. That is until a month after THE GREATEST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE, in 2022, I decided to start writing once again. It started with FanFic after FanFic, fast and furious.

Writing is my passion, my escape. Always has been, always will be.

I enjoyed this book. I love magic so this worked well for me. Faelene can transfigure into a cat. That was fun too!!! Aidan was so sweet. Also a firefighter. Great visuals of this man in uniform! Thank you! Although he's never really in uniform in the book!!!! The story was excellent. I think if my mother in law was like Aidan's mum I dont think I could have coped. I don't know how Faelene did it. Kudos to her. The story is in first person and it's mostly from Faelene's point of view. Some of the chapters and prolonge are from Aidan's. The book was very well written. The characters were all great in their roles and bounced off one another beautifully. I thought the actual plot and premise of the story was excellent. My only niggle was the use of the word c*n*. Not a fan of that word it's referring to or calling someone one. It's a nasty word. It didn't effect my rating or review. Just saying not keen on it! I highly recommend this to you all.

This is the second book in the series and unlike a lot of romance novels, we get a continuation of Fae and Aiden’s story. Which i absolutely love! This time they are planning for their wedding at his family farm, and encounter something so terrifying not even magic can help.. the dreaded mother in law.

While Fae tries to keep her head and her magic together she also gets the opportunity to host the book signing of her dreams.

The spice was as always delicious.. and there were only 2 accidental cat transfigurations.

Falene and Aidan continue their love story in the sequel to spellbound in the stacks! Faelene is secretly a witch unbeknownst to her mother in law who tends to be a little too helpful with wedding planning. Due to the stress of wedding planning and also balancing an incredible opportunity in her book store, Ink and Parchment, she is struggling to keep her stress levels under wraps. How will she cope with all the chaos?!

This story was a cute blend of romcom and spicy! I love these two as a couple, and how cozy this book makes me feel for the fall weather! I especially loved how my name (Marissa) got chosen to be used! I loved the twists and turns at the end as well! K. Iwancio writes beautifully to this sequel!

As if this series couldn’t get any better. I thought I loved book one, but i don’t know book two is my favorite. The spice level was 🌶️🌶️🌶️, it gave me such a warm apple pie feelings inside 😏. That ending just had me 😱, I never saw that coming at all.

If you love a good feel good, sweet, but hella spicy with a few witches and firemen 🤭 (Because who doesn’t love a man in a uniform 😉) this is a book I would recommend.

Another 5 star read from the amazing K.Iwancio. If you’ve read Spellbound in the Stacks and loved Aidan and Fae’s story, Spells & Wedding Bells absolutely hit the spot! It was cute, quirky, and of course, spicy!! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Aidan is the perfect book boyfriend. A fireman who loves to read, and loves cats? Yes, please!

I just loved this book. Spooky romance vibes for the win. It's a cozy, feel good romance novel that I just loved. It was spicy, but it didn't take over the story. I adore Fae and Aidan. I enjoyed the secondary characters and felt they really added to the story.

Such an honor to be on K. Iwancio's ARC team.

Ugh I love this book so much! It was so much fun to revisit Fae and Aiden and get to see their wedding! If you haven't read Spellbound in the Stacks, you don't technically need to in order to enjoy this (the past is all covered in this), but you really should because it's SUCH A GREAT STORY!

It was also so much fun to see Penn and Paige (from Behind the Pages) make a cameo and get to catch up a little bit with them.

Aiden and Fae are technically still in their "new relationship honeymoon phase" while trying to plan a second (yes, a second) wedding so there's lots of spicy scenes. They can't keep their paws off each other (I mean, if I had Aiden, I most likely wouldn't be able to, either). Everything in this story is so perfect. From the engagement to the epilogue. I did dock 1/2 a star because I feel like more magical shenanigans could've happened during the wedding planning phase while Fae's magic was on the fritz, but it was so much fun to to see what did happen. I also think there was a little too much weight put on Aiden's mom being "overbearing" because I felt like she wasn't overbearing, just literally trying to help out the 2 busy kids with planning a wedding, but she was kind of judgmental. So maybe play up the judgment more and less the feeling like she's overbearing when she wasn't really written that way.

It was such a wonderful way to wrap these two up and that ending was *chef's kiss*

Thank you, K. Iwancio for the ARC.

Spells and Wedding Bells is the second book after Spellbound In The Stacks. It left off where the first book ended, with Faelene planning her second wedding with the Kennedy’s. She met with lots of stress and anxiety from the over extra help from her MIL that’s just trying to make things easier for her. It leads to her having some crazy mishaps with her magic that I never would have imagined happening!

I was very surprised to see that two characters from one of her other books made an appearance and it was a very exciting surprise! Luckily I had read that book right before hand so I could not wait when I heard they were coming to Faelenes bookstore!!

The spice level is not as high as Spellbound In The Stacks, but by no means any less! The sexual tension between Faelene and Aidan is a dream! Faelene has the ideal dream of owning a bookstore but also marrying the perfect book boyfriend!!

This is a perfect fall book to cozy up with under a warm blanket! Especially if you love a book with the perfect spice to plot ratio with a hot firefighter, this is for you!!

The ending was absolutely perfect and a complete surprise after the wedding and even the ending wedding gift! K. Iwancio is by far one of my top spicy romcom authors! I highly recommend any of her books, they will leave you craving and wanting more!!

Magic, mayhem, and mother-in-law drama! In Spells & Wedding Bells, Faelene is a witch cursed to find true love or face the consequences—like turning into a cat! 😹🔮 Her fiancé, Aiden, a down-to-earth firefighter, is one of the few mortals who knows her secret. They’re head over heels and happy after their small pagan wedding, but Aiden’s mom insists on a big, traditional ceremony, leading to a whirlwind of wedding planning. 💒

Faelene struggles to balance her own wishes with Aiden’s mom’s pushy but well-meaning plans. As someone not used to a big supportive family, Faelene finds it hard to adjust, but it’s all part of her journey. This book is a charming blend of romance and personal growth, with a dash of spice to keep things interesting! 🌶️❤️

I do wish I had realized this was the second book in the series (1000% my own fault) as it would have added some context to a few scenes it’s totally not necessary to read in order. Spells & Wedding Bells still shines as a lighthearted, cute read about love, family, and embracing your magical quirks. Perfect for fans of witchy romances with a dose of real-life messiness!

Spells & Wedding Bells is book 2 of Spellbound in Thistleton. I loved this book so much. It’s a funny, sweet and spicy, cozy, feel good read. I found myself laughing, wiping away tears, smiling and excitedly happy in so many parts. There’s more than one happy ending 🥹. K really brought the whole story AND Faelene and Aidan to life for me. I could easily picture so many of her descriptions and she is DETAILED! Both of their inner monologue were hilariously cute. They have the nerdiest and sweetest banter. Faelene is an Indie bookstore owner who’s an avid reader, Aidan is a hot nerdy firefighter who ALSO loves to read! And yes, YES he does read romance with smut. 😌 Aidan is THE SWEETEST MAN EVER! I will die on a hill that is Aidan lmao. The way these two love each other is just perfection🥹. Also her gay best friend and husband are just freaking amazing! If you’re looking for your next cute and cozy read I absolutely recommend this book! It’s now going to be added to my reread list. 🥰

This book was smutty and entertaining, just like Spellbound in the Stacks! Here are some things to expect:

- Another adventure with Faelene and Aidan in Thistleton
- Wedding planning
- In-law drama and tension
- Bookish plot points
- Some magic (and magical mishaps)
- More amazing spice!

I truly adore this book series and this author. I’d recommend this book after reading the first, for sure! I read this almost immediately after finishing Spellbound in the Stacks and it was nice to jump right back in. I gave this 4 stars instead of five because reading about in-law drama reminds me of some real world situations in my own life, which isn’t my favorite trope to read about. That may or may not be applicable to your reading experience - we all have different likes and dislikes!

Regardless, this book was cute, smutty, entertaining, and had some great unexpected plot twists. It was more light-hearted like the first one and didn’t touch on any heavy or sad subject matter. Another great book by K. Iwancio!

Oh my heart! Just when I thought things couldn’t get any better, they went and did!

This is the second book in the “Spellbound” series. Despite getting married at the end of the last book, Aiden and Faelene are now planning a second wedding, mainly for the benefit of Aiden’s family, who are rather traditional and have zero idea the couple are already married - or that Faelene is a witch.

Due to the stress, Faelene’s magical abilities basically start going on one, which in turn, cause some shenanigans.

I had such a wonderful time reading this. As per usual with K Iwancio’s books, there was a good dose of spice. But you will never hear me say that’s a bad thing 😁 It’s exactly what I expect from her books now. I’d be more mad if there wasn’t any! I was fully entertained and I also felt Faelene’s anxiety as well. I mean, it sucks at the best of times when things go wrong, but I’d imagine it’s even less so when you’re a witch and your powers goes “hahaha, no!” at the worst possible time. I also had a great time finding the Easter eggs 🪺

I absolutely fell even more in love with Faelene and Aidan’s relationship and their characters. I can see myself in Faelene as a fellow book obsessed reader and her running Ink&Parchment is such an amazing dream for her to have that she made come true.

When I read the blurb for this book and it said Faelenes powers went wonky/out of control I was not expecting one of the things that happened at all and boy was it a big thing! I also felt like the MIL in this story was based off my own MIL and what she did with my own wedding, so didn’t care for his mom for a good majority of the book lol I absolutely loved the mishaps with her magic though because it sure did make it more interesting and even funny. And the ending? Perfect as always from the amazing K. Iwancio, definitely check out this book and all her others as they are great reads and entertaining. I hope to see more of Faelene and Aidan or at the least more of Thistleton.

This book is so romantic, quirky, witchy, and SPICY 🔥🥵 LIKE ohhhhh my goodness. If you want a fun and spicy fantasy romance then this is absolutely the right book for you.

This is the sequel to Spellbound in the Stacks and as far as sequels go this one did a fantastic job of staying on par with the first book! It was just as quirky and the characters just as much had my whole heart.

Faelene is literally who I want to be in life. A witchy bookstore owner?! Come on. And Aidan is just the most cinnamon roll character you could imagine. His beautiful nerdy cosplaying self is perfect for Faelene.

I mean what would you do if you had to plan a second wedding because your first one was a secret witchy wedding that HIS family wasn't invited to because they don't know you're a witch?!

What a whirlwind ride this book goes on. I was so invested and I loved it. K. Iwancio always has the best characters that have the most fun and I love being a reader of her creative literary world! It's truly a joy!

I think I will always recommend her books! ❤️

4.5 stars!

I loved the first book, so I had to read the second one! It's a short and cute story so I blew right through it! I love how Faelene is a bookstore owner and so many of the things Aiden tells her are book/story related. He tells her for example: "Faelene... I want us to write the next chapter in our lives, together." Don't we all love a book boyfriend who says things like that?!

So the story picks up right after their pagan wedding in book 1. This book solely focuses on the traditional wedding they are planning at his family's orchard. His mom helps with the planning, but she is very overbearing with all her questions and it stresses Faelene out. Her magic becomes unpredictable and some unexpecting things happen!

Will Faelene be able to deal with her mother-in-law? Will their wedding be free of magical accidents? What other unexpected events occur?

Read it in this short en cosy small-town paranormal romance!

Magical witch Faelene is marrying her hotter than sin firefighter fiancé Aidan. It’s true love, and it saved Fae from the dreaded family curse. The charming couple encounter and overcome a variety of hilarious challenges, including Aidan’s sweet and overbearing mother, who takes over the wedding planning like she is Tiny Tim chowing down on the holiday turkey.

While thankfully Aidan’s mom is a sweet heart, life is even more stressful for Faelene as she has to figure out how to navigate life w a new mother in law, her misfiring magic, and how to survive hosting her two fav authors married to each other and doing a prestigious book signing in her store one week before the wedding! (one a renowned recluse) at her charming bookstore, Ink and Parchment.

Throw in the unexpected appearance of Faelene’s out loud and proud veryyy magical mother and it seems like a recipe for disaster, but it ends beautifully.

A well written and entertaining romcom, lots of steamy stuff, wonderful characters with a lot of heart and substance and an absolutely worthwhile read

A sweet love story about Faelene and Aiden.

Falelene is a beautiful bookshop owner who also happens to be a witch that is cursed; her curse is to turn into a cat and will permanently be a cat after her 26th birthday unless she finds her one true love.

Aiden is a firefighter who is known for his heroics. Since becoming involved with Faelene, he is also known on social media for giving honest book reviews and giving reading recommendations. Aiden first Faelene when he ventured into her bookshop for a book.

Faelene and Aiden have already wed by coven standards, but now it is time to plan a traditional human wedding, which Aiden's mother has taken full control of. All the planning has frustrated Faelene to the point that her magic has become unstable, unstable enough that she even temporarily turns Aiden into a cat!

This is such a cute story! A little witchy. A little quirky. But definitely lovable. I felt some modern day Bewitched vibes while reading it. I really enjoyed the fact that there wasn’t a deep dive into witches and covens and is a lighthearted “Bewitched” style romcom novel.

Faelene gets picked to host a book signing that can help put her independent book store on the map right before her mother in law approved wedding. Naturally stressors occur. In humans this would mean pimples and no sleep. Faelene’s witchy side however makes weird things happen that she needs to keep hidden from her soon to be mother in law. Accidental transfigurations. Hair changes. Dresses that were white a second ago. I do wish there were a few more accidental magic occurrences.

I really enjoyed going back to Thistleton to read what came next to Faelene and Aiden.

As they previously found out they were soul mates and each other's true love. So what's the next step in ther relationship? Not one but two weddings. And the second one is probably going to get Faelene mad with anxiety. Her mother in law is taking over the wedding planning and is making Faelene anxiety go through the roof. And then her magic is expressing on it's own with her panic attacks. She has to learn to calm herself down (and Aiden has several spicy ideas to help) and go with the flow/panic.

The characters were already familiar, so it was just tome to enjoy the story, the laughable moments and the spicy bits between them.
A very good way to enjoy a good night reading.

A stressed out witch planning a wedding with her overbearing soon to be mother in law and adoring fiance? Yes please!
This book was absolutely adorable. I feel like this book shows the struggles of learning the personalities of your new family in a perfectly comical way?
Is she overbearing or just trying to help and make life easier? Is she taking over or is she trying to make sure you feel welcome?
Hidden magical powers? Not an issue! We can keep it all under the radar for sure.
I just love a book with a man who loves his woman through the good and the bad. I can't wait to read the next book from this author since she reminds me that the sweet side of romance novels can be just as great as the dark side.

This book deserves all the stars! I am obsessed with the Spellbound in Thistleton series and K. Iwancio has quickly wormed her way into my heart as one of my new favorite authors! Now I’ve gotta add all her books to my tbr because I just adore her writing! This book is the PERFECT blend of Hallmark meets spice and just made my little heart so happy. I laughed, I swooned, my jaw dropped in shock at some moments. The wedding was PERFECTION! One of the most beautiful imaginary weddings I’ve had the pleasure of attending. Seriously, if you haven’t already check this series out. This one releases 9/10/24.

K! This book was everything I didn’t know I needed. It made me want a warm cup of apple cider and all the apple things.
I know I said it before but I’ll say it again; I’m honestly obsessed with the way you manage to pull readers into your stories. What a wonderful follow up to Spellbound in the Stacks. Your book had me crying in public; happy tears of course, laughing, kicking my feet and audibly saying “what the hell?!” & it was such a nice surprise to see my favorite fictional author duo again!
I have nothing but praises for this book too.
Well done!

I cannot make it anymore clear. I LOVED this book. I love the firefighter golden retriever fiancé (husband) and his bookstore owning witch wife. This book gives off nostalgic, small home town living, true love, happy ending vibes.

I could not put it down. Aside from the excellent writing, the characters themselves stand out, along with the descriptive world building. I have to say, I had a good laugh at the coffee store being named "The Flicked Bean".

This book is Hallmark meets which and I loved every minute of it. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes witchy romcoms. (Don't worry about the spice level. There was plenty of it in there ;) 10/10 would read again.)

Spells and Wedding Bells was one of my favorite reads of 2024! Faelene and Aiden’s story was continued with so much love, spice, and funny banter. I loved the character crossover as well!!! I think anyone who has planned a wedding can relate to Fae and the stress it can cause. What made this lighthearted was her magical side. I loved Aiden’s ability to relax her in an instant. He’s the perfect book husband, especially for acting out different things she reads about. I cannot wait for book 3 to see their growth not just with each other but with their new families and friends. Thank you so so much K. Iwancio for another great read!

Great continuation if you want more of Faelene and Aidan.

Book 2 continues the theme of romcom with a healthy dose of spice. If you didn’t get enough of the feature couple in Spellbound in the Stacks, this is the perfect sequel for you.

That being said, I feel like there was no major conflict or problem that needed to be overcome. There are small little mishaps and almost-arguments, but they are all solved fairly quickly and almost too easily, in my opinion. Spells and Wedding Bells is decidedly low-stakes, but the chemistry and adorableness between Faelene and Aidan still make it a fun time.

This is the second book in the *Spellbound in Thistleton* series. It picks up with Aiden and Faelene planning their second (non-pagan) wedding. Faelene has to deal with Aiden’s super intense mom, who's all over the wedding planning, and she’s feeling the pressure to keep her happy. On top of that, there are some magical mishaps thanks to all the stress. And of course, there are some steamy 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ moments between Aiden and Faelene. It’s a fun, light read with a great storyline—perfect for cozy fall/Halloween vibes!

Love true love!!!

Faelene and Aidan!!! They are super cute and spicy. With a wedding right around the corner and Faelene's big book event... she's just a little stressed out. Can you blame a girl???

Aidan does his best to reduce her stress. It's just a lot. It doesn't help that her in-laws don't know that she's a cat shifting witch. Oh no!! Or that her mom will be attending the wedding too. More stress!

This is a cute romcom, with a little bit of spice.

The host of characters are great.

Welcome back to Thistleton! We pick up with Fae and Aidan planning their wedding and dealing with all of the stress that comes with wedding planning as a witch. This book is the perfect palate cleanser if you’re struggling with what to read next. It’s a fun, easy read that leaves you satisfied at the end. This book is the literary version of warm chocolate chip cookie: gives you a warm feeling on the inside but leaves you happy and wanting more! The spice between Fae and Aidan is *chef’s kiss* and will only give you ideas for things to try. Another great book by K. Iwancio!

Spells and Wedding Bells start off where Spellbound in the Stacks left off. Fae and Aiden are happy and in love.
I enjoyed this book a lot. Had fun banter and characters plus the spice was nice.
Fae is stressed planning a Christian wedding a year after their Pagan one, especially with Aiden's mom micromanaging everything. With all the stress, her magic starts going wonky. Can they make it to the wedding date in one piece?

Wow talk about a wholesome romcom with some seriously spicy moments!!!!

I savored the build up this book provided. The spice was not overpowering.

The love Aiden and Faelean share is amazing and excuse me but that twist with Aiden before the wedding ahhh

If you love yourself a good romcom with jalapeño level spice sprinkled in to make the perfect salsa please do yourself a favor and add this to your TBR
