I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Ava, an art teacher in a small town, is in Vegas with her friends and fiancé to have a break, only to find her fiancé has been cheating on her the whole time. Shocked, she runs from their hotel room in her pajamas and nothing else to the nearest bar.

When billionaire Lukas is in Vegas, swearing off women because of his cheating girlfriend, he is in for a surprise when a cute Asian woman in pajamas enters the bar he is in. He is curious and decides to entertain her, buying her drinks.

One drink turns into another. Then more. And the next thing they know, they wake up in the same bed, naked, with "Just Got Married!" balloons in their hotel room. With no recollection of how they ended up this way, how are they going to navigate through the challenges further?

Their dynamics in the beginning were good and quite interesting. But everything started going downhill when they found out Ava was pregnant. After that, I started to dislike Lukas and anything he did did not seem genuine at all.

The thing I disliked was that they never really communicated about their insecurities. So, I have a bad feeling they might fall back into the pattern of doubting each other. They never resolved the issue of why they kept doubting each other and how difficult it was for them to trust. It all felt very superficial, their 'love'. So I was not exactly rooting for them.

I was okay with Ava, and that is why I am giving the book more than three stars.

Other than that, it was an interesting story with a billionaire boyfriend, fake dating, accidental marriage, and pregnancy tropes.

So Bad It’s Funny

This is one of the worst stories I’ve read in a long time. Both characters are like caricatures of real people who have the emotional depth of a cardboard cutout. Ava is always sad and weeping and never believes Lukas loves her, which is exhausting to read. Lukas claims to love Ava yet inexplicably becomes shut off and cold towards her at the drop of a pin (in his own POV chapters, too!) which gave me emotional whiplash. There’s lots of self-flagellation over being too selfish/hurtful/busy at work, or trusting/naive/unlovable, depending on the POV you’re in. Normally silly romance novels are my fluffy cotton candy reads, but this wasn’t even fully formed enough to be cotton candy. It is like the concept of cotton candy: sweet in theory with no substance to show for it.

It was charming, it was a little sad, and it was Vegas baby!
I liked that it started hard from the get go, intense sexual chemistry that eventually leads to a Vegas wedding. And then you get hit with true life, and all the ugliness it can throw.
The ending was a little too rushed, but it works so I recommend.

After catching her fiancee doing the horizontal mambo with a practitioner of the world’s oldest profession, Ava flees to the hotel bar for some liquid comfort … Lucas Martin buys Ava a drink … well several … and apparently a ring or two … a marriage license … and the services of a quickie “Just Say I Do”! It’s all a bit hazy when Ava awakes the next morning … nekked … in a strange bed! AND that’s it for the spoilers … because “What Happens in Vegas” … stays in Vegas … unless these two mis-matched, beautifully drawn and developed characters can find a way to overcome not only their differences, but the barriers being tossed their way from those following THEIR own agenda! Beautifully written, engaging and emotionally moving, “What Happens in Vegas” is a fantastic listen! The CHARACTERS drive this story and there are some I just can’t get out of my mind! Each and every character is not only brilliantly defined, they grow AND change as they are effected by the events in the story, just as real people grow and change when effected by the events of real life! I really felt like this gave a very clear insight into their personalities, their “essence as a person” - what makes them “tick”. This “humanizing” significantly deepened the “feel” as the story progressed. I felt like I saw so many “sides” of their personalities! There were the uplifting “awe” worthy moments when Ava and Lucas “clicked” in almost a carefree manner, the “teary” times my heart broke for both Ava and Lucas as backstories were revealed and present trials faced, and I’ll confess, there were times I wanted to take Lucas to the proverbial woodshed, and Lucas wasn’t alone! I had equally strong reactions to some of the other characters. There were some I wanted to bury in the sand, and I’m talking very … very … never see the light of day DEEP! A few really … made … my … blood … boil! I won’t say who, or when, but know it was more than one, and over the course of the story some were able to redeem themselves through growth brought on by circumstance. I’m not going to get into details. As you listen, you’ll see! You’ll also see that everything that happens in this story happens for a reason … just breathe, listen with an open mind and trust our author, she KNOWS what she’s doing! Someone who also knows what she’s doing is our narrator! What a stunning presentation! Every voice, every emotion, clear, concise, confident, perfectly timed, and perfectly paced - close your eyes and watch as the author’s vision comes brilliantly, beautifully, and vividly ALIVE! Five Stunning Stars. I loved it, I loved it all!

Audiobook review.
I didn't know what to expect when I first started listening to this book, and I was pleasantly surprised how good it was.
Ava and Lukas meet by Chance they are both in Vegas for different reasons, but end up in the same bar drinking their troubles away.Ava had fled her hotel room after discovering her boyfriend Scott in a compromising position with a Hooker. She wanted to get drunk and forget that cheater,so in her Llama pyjamas she sits at a bar drinking with a stranger.
Lukas was a billionaire and was part of a famous family and was trying to stay incognito from the paparazzi,as his ex cheating girfriend was rumoured to be engaged to his uncle who she cheated with.
Then an Asian beauty in Llama pyjamas sits next to him and they chat and decide to get drunk together. They have a great night that leads to a passionate night and a ring on both of their fingers...Yep they wake up unable to remember anything even the fact that they were now Husband and Wife.
What takes place next is a wonderful love story, they are opposites and probably shouldn't make sense but they do.
Lukas needs to stay married so he can earn his place as CEO to the family buisness, and he needs to convince Ava to be his wife until after Christmas and until his position as CEO is solidified.
Ava agrees because she needs the money Lukas is offering to stay married to him and so they are forced together and what was supposed to be fake soon feels all too real.
But Ava and Lukas want different things in life, they see different things in the future Ava wants a family to be a mother,Lukas doesn't want children or a family after his childhood was lonely and isolated. This could be the very thing that would cause their downfall.
I honestly thought that this book wouldn't end with a HEA and it had me worried for a while,I was so frustrated at one point with both Ava and Lukas..because they just didn't communicate with eachother properly assuming what the other one was thinking all the time.
Plus Lukas' family were not very welcoming of Ava into their family, they were horrible to Ava and I wanted to get inside the book and rescue Ava from all the hostility.
Lukas was as stubborn as a mule he frustrated me so much at times with his actions.
I wasn't expecting to become so emotional about this story too and I found myself with tears in my eyes and feeling so sad for Ava.
This book is read to us by Sadie Provost and she is EXCELLENT at narrating all the characters and changing her voice for each character...Sadie was truly amazing and her talent shone through I really enjoyed her story telling and mad this audiobook such a pleasure to listen to.
Zoe Hanson has written such a sweet, romantic and emotional love story which I found myself unable to stop listening until the end.
A Heartwarming book that I loved listening to.
Brilliant.

4.5* - Rounded up to 5...

After Ava finds her fiance hooking up with an unsavoury character while on a trip to Vegas, she runs out of her hotel and ends up in a bar in another hotel, where she meets Lukas, who is in Vegas just trying to get away from pressures in his life, including the pressure to get married so that his father will name him as the new CEO when he retires in a couple of weeks.

After connecting in the bar, they wake up in Lukas' hotel room - MARRIED! Realising the could be the answer to his problems, Lukas convinces Ava to stay married for a while, and to go with him to his family's home in Malibu to help him become CEO.

As they learn more about each other, and navigate the vast differences in their backgrounds, they have to figure out if their connection can withstand the differences, or if they need to accept that they are too different and move on...

I loved this journey of discovery and love... I loved Ava's friends, and how they supported her. And I loved how Ava was able to reconnect with her artistic side.

A really sweet story, and I'm excited to read more of Zoe Hanson's work.

I loved the narration of Sadie Provost, who brings out the humour. the angst, drama and characters. Keeping you listening and feeling the emotions.

Ava, is a art teacher from a small town, who is in Vegas with her friends and fiancé to have a break. Who became ex fiancé when she catches him cheating on her the whole time. So Ava runs from their hotel room in her pjs and finds herself in in a bar.
Billionaire Lukas is in Vegas, has sworn off women because of his cheating girlfriend. His curiosity when a woman in lama pjs sits beside him at the bar. A few drinks later and a foggy night both wake in the same bed, naked, with "Just Got Married!" balloons in their hotel room.
I first liked Lukas, but when Ave finds herself pregnant, I found myself shouting at him. What started as good turns and goes down hill. Due to their lack of communicated about their insecurities, it takes these two a long time to find the right way.
I wo wanted to shake Lukas and pull Ava aside and sit her down.

We have a billionaire boyfriend, accidental marriage, and pregnancy, angst and drama.

Sometimes, you need a cute romance to break up the harsh, world-building fights of the Fae.

Sophie and Lucas's story is just that. Sweet and Cute. An accidental marriage in Vegas. Well, What Happens In Vegas. The chemistry between the two showed from their first meeting. They grew up in two separate worlds. As they learn about each other's world and what it takes to be a part of it, they have to overcome some hardships. But in the end, they do, and we are all happy. But let me tell you this, Ms. Thang of an ex needs to move on. Very fast-paced and continues to keep you intrigued.

Sadie Provost - As I listened to the audio, I wanted to say what a great job the narrator did as well. I wasn't too impressed with the Southern accent, but I am a little partial to one. Other than that, she keeps you listening.

The book had a lot of potential for a cutesy hallmark styled read. However, there needed to be a ton of editing done before it should have been published. Many words are repeated or left out in sentences. The writer seems to forget which POV she is in during some of the monologue as she refers to the person speaking things when you know it’s actually the opposite person that it is supposed to be coming from.
It also felt more like a screenplay with it primarily being dialogue.
A more developed background on the environments, characters, etc would have transformed the way this book read.

This has everything I want from a romance book! The chemistry between Ava and Lukas is just the right amount of the 'will they/won't they' trope and the attraction between them feels so REAL, while the outer world around them has enough building tension to make this a wholesome, well balanced romance read where you really care about the characters and wonder where everything's going to end up.

A great escapism romance story.

terrible grammatical and typing errors throughout

So many errors in verb & adjective tense, duplicate words, impossible sentences. It was hard to read. I was looking for a light romance to read tonight. Instead, I got a book that had so many mistakes in it that I lost the entire mood. So sad.

sweet and touching

The two main characters had great chemistry. I think that’s my favorite part of romance novels. The back and forth flirting. This one had some emotional scenes that really touched feelings. The plot moved quickly and was a great read.

I enjoyed this audiobook. I found myself tearing at times. The complex relationship between Ava and Lukas had them denying their feelings. Narrator Sadie Provost did a great job.

This book has potential, but it just feels like it’s missing something. I couldn’t really get into it or connect with the characters, so 3 ⭐️
