This was a mind-bending, spooky read about 11 year-old Abel that suffers from terrifying nightmares. His mother, Leanne, does her best to help her sleep-deprived son, but comes to realize that his dreams aren't just nightmares, they're real. Visions of people dying in the real world.

As the pressure of his condition starts to affect the whole family, Abel befriends his neighbor, Rachel, and seeks comfort in her. The family welcomes her with open arms as Leanne figures out how she can help her son.

This story was full of twists, with an ending I did not see coming. I had my thoughts, but they were wrong! The nightmares are descriptive and genuinely creepy. Felt like getting short stories within a novel which was fun and added a layer to the experience.

I was gifted this ARC. To start off, I really enjoyed the story telling. There was great character building that helped me empathize with the different characters. I did not read the blurb, so I went into this read blind. I found this to add to the excitement of the story because I found myself saying “just one more chapter” a lot so I could figure out what was happening. My only complaint is that there is no explanation as to how Rachel ended up in her situation, although this could be an opportunity for a second book to explain her backstory better. Overall, a really enjoyable read. 4⭐️

I really enjoyed this one!! It’s about a boy who is plagued by nightmares of gruesome deaths, only to find out they happened in real life!! Ends with a great twist that I had inklings of, but I didn’t guess the full scope!! 🙌

Definitely recommend this one, my horror book peeps!! ❤️

Thank you to Andrew Adams and Twins & Talent for the opportunity to read the eARC in exchange for my honest review! ❤️

Unfortunately, I don’t think I was the right audience for this book. I struggled most with the writing and dialogue - it felt unnatural and forced at times. Especially when it was supposed to be an 11 year old POV and dialogue between two 11 year olds.
Thank you to twinsandtalent and the author for my copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book is Insidious meets Let the Right One In. It follows Abel who has nightmares, night terrors, and other sleep difficulties. He befriends his new neighbor, and his family wastes no time making her feel she’s family. As the nightmares progress, family history unravels, and more importantly Abel’s parents soon realize the nightmares are mirroring real life tragedies.

I will say I suspected lies from a certain someone but not the twist! Abel’s family, though a bit troubled, made me wish I was a part of it. I loved how vivid the dreams were, I loved that the parents in the story absolutely supported their child as best they could (as opposed to what happens in horror movies, where parents just brush things off). Thanks to this story I am unsure if I’m more terrified of sleeping or not sleeping!

Let the Right One In, and Insidious.

I went into this one blind, and tbh it wasn't what I expected. Cleverclogs here thought I was about to read some werewolf story, so in case anyone is wondering... there are no werewolves 😂
Anyhoo, the story follows 11 year old Abel, who is suffering from terrible dreams. Every night, he dreams that someone has died in an awful way, and he later realises that these deaths actually occurred.
This was a brilliantly written story, and once I'd realised I'd been completely wrong about what was going on, I started to enjoy it a little more. There were a few little twists, and I did figure out one of them, although, that whole ending really threw me off.
An enjoyable read.

🛌 Book Review 🛌

Well this was a creepy, dread inducing novel that will make it hard to sleep after you’ve read it! The setting is in the 1960’s and our mc is an 11 year old boy who keeps having nightmares. Nightmares of death and destruction that turn out to be true events. He meets his new neighbor, Rachel, who is his only source of comfort on the days after he’s had these nightmares terrors. His mother is desperate to find a solution although back in the 60’s there wasn’t many studies done on these types of issues in children. The ending had a wild twist I never saw coming. It’s a lesson in life, love, and family. Plus, always keep an eye on your neighbors. 👀 I loved this! Thank you so much @andrew_adams_author for the review copy and @twinsandtalent 🙌 Dropping July 9th! Grab one and watch your nightmares unfold. 👻

Review: While reading this book it felt like I was watching a movie! The descriptions were spot on I could envision everything that was happening! The dreams that Abel was having were absolutely terrifying! The dreams were so detailed as I was reading these I told myself these dreams must have been real and had happened in the past in the story! I loved how suspenseful it was it had me wondering what was going on and then when I reached the end I was so surprised! I pray this one day this book can be adapted into a movie!

There isn’t a book from this author I didn’t love and this one again was fantastic! Not only Andrew Adams’ writing is always engaging and on point, but his stories are always different and unpredictable!

In this book we follow Abel and his family as they struggle to comprehend his sleeping problems. As long as he remembers he hasn’t been able to have one night of sleep without being plagued by vivid nightmares which are becoming worse as time passes. Luckily he has his friend Rachel beside him, as they both help each other like good friends should do.

How worse are these nightmares going to be? And for how long will Abel be able to keep up? The answers lie in this story of despair and sorrow where adults and kids alike are faced with events they couldn’t have imagined, which force them to go inward. That’s what I loved about this story, the deep dive into the characters and their introspective journey, to find out what really matters and the sacrifice it takes to fight for what's really important.

As with lots of Adams’ works, there are little Easter eggs here and also a homage to one of the everlasting classics with its symbolisms and deep meanings (if you want to know more you have to read the book).

I am always impressed by not only the talent of this author, but by his heterogenous creativity, and I can’t wait for what his mind has in store next!

Thanks to the author for a copy and this is my honest opinion.

This is my second time reading something from this author, a serial killer who's crimes are being broadcasted? SOLD. A kid who's nightmares are actually coming true? SOLD AGAIN. As expected, this did not disappoint at all the first half of the book had me hooked and I had trouble putting it down. When the nightmares started happening I was a little confused and asked "Who are these people?", when someone new was introduced, but once I got what was going on the dream parts of the story easily became my favorite. The second half started to lose me a little but then the ending came and pulled me right back in. I was a little skeptical if the ending was actually happening or if it was all a nightmare again. The whole time I was screaming in my head " MR. ADAMS ARE YOU JUST PULLING MY LEG OR IS THIS FOR REAL??" whether it was real or not I did end up loving the ending. My only complaint about the whole book would be that we didn't get enough background on Rachel but thats just me being really curious of her character and wanting to know absolutely everything. Read this if you like books set in the 60's, indie horror, or creepy suspense type of books.

I just love who he isable to push the boundaries of the horror genre with a twist on Dante’s Infernoin this emotionally driven psychological horror about one family’s suffering. In it, we meet 11 y/o Able, the youngest between him and his sister in this familyof 4, who has suffered a lifetime of bad dreams and night terrors which escalatedinto actually witnessing real murders through his nightmares. His mom had similarissues with night terrors and insomnia growing up, and she is struggling tofind a way to help her son. This leads to her turning to an unhealthy coping mechanism. This close-knit family starts a downhill spiral psychologically as they allendure the effects of Abel’s nightmares. Luckily for Abel, a new girl moves innext door and quickly becomes the new best friend he desperately needs. Except, nothing is really as it seems. True to this author’s style, there are unexpectedtwists and turns with an ending that may or may not be happy - you have to readto find out.

Infernal Moon, oh my gosh where to begin with this utter masterpiece? Andrew made me promise to read with the lights off, and it definitely helped heighten the already terrifying experience this pages held. Imagine being an eleven-year-old boy that can suddenly see the last moments of murder victims! Ack!

The immersive storytelling compelled me to finish this is one day! The power"just one more chapter" held over me needs to be studied. I really felt for poor Abel, but was so glad he had his mom in his corner to help him. As a mom myself, this story really hit home. After all, what wouldn't you do for your children? You can't protect them from everything, and it's heartbreaking. Lowkey hoping for either a sequel or a companion story focusing on Rachel!

This was a gifted to me copy to review, but I'm impressed.

Honesty I couldn't decide If the nightmares were real or something made up plaguing Abel, because this is horror WHO KNOWS!
I really enjoyed the writing style which for me is half the battle with a book, and I will be adding Andrew to my check out immediately list in the future. I love the little twists that we ran into, I'm a sucker for a twist.

I'm always iffy on books with a savior mom type, just for personal reasons, but this mom had me by the heart in a death grip.

Pick this up and read it when you can, even if " set in the past" type books aren't your thing this one is and will be.

𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬:
This was a unique and fun read with eerie and creepy vibes (which I loved!) First off, I love the cover! I had no idea what to expect when going into this book, and I am glad that I went into it blind. It is about a young boy who has continuous nightmares about brutal and gruesome deaths….but what is worse is when he finds out that these nightmares are more real than he could have ever imagined😱 I loved the creepiness, the setting, the characters, and the twists throughout. Adams’ writing played out like I was sitting on my couch with popcorn in hand watching a horror movie-and I loved every minute of it. I loved the details centered around Abel’s nightmares—it definitely built up the tension and the suspense. Also, the ending had me 🤯 I highly suggest you check out this suspenseful nightmarish book!

Imagine that terrifying nightmare you had last night, was someone else’s reality?

I found this book really interesting, I love the way the author writes and it was pretty easy to get into the story.
The story is told in the POV’s of the MC Abel, his mother and his best friend Rachel.
I was all in and the mystery of how it all was going to play out had me not wanting to put it down. Unfortunately, the ending did throw me off and I also felt like it was a little longer than necessary (reminder that this is MY opinion so if the synopsis interests you, please do give it a try).

I love books by Andrew Adams, but this one? THIS ONE IS IT FOR ME. I fucking LOVED this book.

Nightmares are terrifying to begin with most of the time but start dreaming that you’re in the shoes of someone being murdered? HELL TO THE NOPE.

This story really keeps you on your toes the entire time, all the while continuing to knot that ball of dread in your stomach as you read it.

10/10 would recommend!

I loved this book! Nightmares that are real? Immediate yes for me. This kept me sucked in and I had a hard time putting it down to do things like sleep, write, and go to work. It’s suspenseful with great character development and I loved the twist at the end.

I won’t be rating this book because it wouldn’t be fair as I had difficulty reading some parts due to personal reasons but on the whole I found it a good story and it delves into the trauma in a way which I think is a good representation.
