Potter wonderfully bridges the gap between Christian ministry / spirituality and the world of counselling / psychology in this short but highly practical self-help book. The way she uses testimonies of what God has done in her life personally, and in prayer ministry, casts a holy vision for what a life lived walking with Jesus can look like, and more-so how one in the counselling field can incorporate both spaces. I’m personally passionate about this, so to see it clearly lived out, and listening well to the Holy Spirit while working with people is encouraging and inspiring.
While much of the content wasn’t new to me (I’m probably not the target audience), I can think of many people who would deeply benefit from the understandable explanation of psych concepts and showing that there is a good space where this and the Christian faith can move in tandem. Likely to be a book I recommend clients and church family.
Great insight into how God can be a part of our healing journeys and how we can be more mindful towards his voice and presence. This is a practical and easy to read text.
